I’m Supposed to Be the Neglected Princess in the Future, but Something Seems Strange... - 24 - Trap – Part 1
“Hehehe… hehehehehe…”
The woman laughed with empty eyes.
“It’s her fault… that woman’s fault… if only she wasn’t there…”
She kept repeating those cursed words like a broken record, laughing as if something inside her had snapped.
Then, clink, a small sound came from nearby. The woman turned only her head toward it.
Behind the iron-barred door, a man was standing.
It seemed he had fallen into her trap.
The woman tore a small ruby off her dress and threw it at the iron bars.
“Break it. Completely. Make her pay for what she did to me.”
She added, “If you do, I’ll give you this huge brooch.”
She removed the golden brooch shining on her chest and waved it in front of him, laughing again.

It was just after noon when Raphael got the report that the person they were watching had moved.
After getting the report from Viscount Redondo, Raphael was about to leave the ship and head to the inn where they had people watching—but just then, a service staff member called out to him.
He recognized the man. He was the one who had reported seeing Lea going down to the second floor while they were tracking her.
Raphael was in a hurry and was about to say, “Later,” but the look on the man’s face made him stop.
He looked uneasy. Something must have happened.
Raphael frowned with worry and listened to what the man had to say—and then gasped.
“Rose!?”
The man said Rose had gone to visit someone she knew staying in a third-class cabin. But Rose had been almost completely confined in the castle. It didn’t seem likely she had any acquaintances.
“She said she was going to room 3077, but when we checked, only male guests were staying there… and well, to be honest, they didn’t look like very respectable people.”
The staff didn’t feel right checking the room himself, so he came to inform Raphael instead.
Raphael’s face tensed immediately. He turned to Sedoc, who was standing nearby.
“I’m going to find Rose! Can I leave the rest to you?”
“Got it. It’s fine. It’s just one princess—shouldn’t be hard to catch.”
Hearing Sedoc’s reply, Raphael nodded once, then told Duke Roper—who was also nearby—to bring guards and meet up with them. Then, guided by the staff member, he took off running.
It didn’t make sense that Rose would go to a third-class room on her own. Something was wrong. But before thinking about what, he had to make sure Rose was safe.
Holding his chest as his heart pounded with fear and panic, Raphael raced down the long hallway.
