Immortal Road Worry-Free - CHAPTER 1
In the ancient age, before immortals and demons were divided,
all races lived tangled within the haze of chaos. Each clan fought endlessly for territory,
and for hundreds of thousands of years, war and disorder ravaged the realms.
When the Great War of the Myriad Clans finally ended,
the worlds withdrew from one another to heal. Each nurtured life in silence,
and over time, clouds gathered softly around them, filling heaven and earth with vitality.
All beings returned to order, and peace reigned across creation.
This age of abundance came to be known as the Flourishing World.
Under a moonlit sky, when silver light blanketed the land and heaven and earth were silent,
soft, colored clouds shimmered around the moon’s halo.
Within the divine realm, beneath the sacred Fusang Tree, stood Baisheng,
patriarch of the White Clan, and Qingmei, daughter of the Azure Lineage.
That night, they welcomed their first child, a son they named Bai Guyu
that he might stand alone like an island against the tide, steadfast as the stars,
solitary yet unwavering in his vow to protect.
From his earliest years, Bai Guyu was earnest and diligent,
blessed with an extraordinary gift for understanding.
By the time he was a hundred years old, he could walk the
starry sea with his sword and command the winds to cut through the void.
His parents, though loving, never spoiled him; their gentleness carried strength,
and their teachings shaped his heart like tempered jade.
When Bai Guyu reached his thousandth year, Qingmei conceived again.
Upon learning he would have a younger sister, Guyu’s joy knew no bounds.
He looked to the heavens and laughed, declaring that he would
no longer be the lonely isle his name foretold.
His laughter filled the divine realm, and
Qingmei’s eyes curved into a smile as warm as the morning sun.
He bent to his mother’s side, his voice full of tenderness as
he whispered to her belly that his little sister should not worry.
From this day onward, only her brother would ever be allowed to tease her.
Anyone else who dared, he would drive away with his own hands.
Behind him, Baisheng reached out and tapped his son on the head,
half-chiding, half-smiling. Such boldness, to even think of bullying my daughter.
The words sounded stern, but the joy behind them could not be hidden.
The sacred Fusang Tree rustled softly, its golden leaves glimmering as it
listened to the laughter of the family no longer three, but four
bearing silent witness to their happiness.
Bai Guyu emptied the treasures he had collected during his journeys across the realms:
spirit ores, rare herbs, radiant crystals, and luminous gems.
He sifted through them all, intent on forging with his own hands
the most perfect gift for his unborn sister.
But peace is fleeting. The days of serenity did not last long.
The stars began to tremble and turn upside down.
From beyond the heavens came strange things that tore through the void.
The sky shuddered, and every race of the world felt the shadow of doom.
A species from beyond the realms, known as the Devourers of the Abyss,
had broken through the barriers of creation.
They swallowed stars, consumed moons, and sought to turn the
Flourishing World into a wasteland of death.
The races of the realms sealed themselves within their borders, unwilling to fight.
Only the Ancient God Clan stood forward. Bound by divine bl00d and fate,
they knew that only battle could preserve the world.
Baisheng gathered his divine power and shaped it with his will.
Using the Fusang Tree as the heart, he formed mountains and
rivers, drew upon celestial springs to create lakes,
buried veins of eternal minerals beneath the earth to form the land’s lifeblood,
and sowed the soil with countless divine herbs.
He released sacred beasts to bring the land to life,
built a grand pavilion filled with tens of thousands of books,
and named this sanctuary Carefree Island.
Around it, Qingmei wove nine layers of barriers.
Her hand rested upon her gently rounded belly, her brow creased with both sorrow and love.
She used the Pure World White Lotus, one of the five ancient lotuses,
as a vessel to shelter the unborn spirit of her daughter, Bai Yushuang.
Within its petals, she sealed her, nourishing the soul with the essence of heaven and earth.
War was coming, and there was no other way to protect her.
On Carefree Island, Baisheng and Qingmei stood beneath the Fusang Tree,
gazing toward the torn sky. Black fire and fragments of starlight surged within the celestial rift.
Their faces were calm as mountains. They both knew this battle would have no return.
Baisheng turned to the sacred tree and spoke softly, entrusting it with his final plea.
Fusang, I leave you to watch over Yushuang. Teach her, guide her, and be her companion.
The Fusang Tree lowered a branch that shimmered with divine light and
brushed his shoulder gently. I have guarded the
Ancient Gods since the dawn of the world, it said,
and every child of your bloodline was born beneath my boughs.
My blessing will forever remain with your clan.
A piercing roar split the heavens. Another rift tore open across the sky.
Qingmei, we must go, Baisheng said, gripping her hand tightly.
Lightning flickered in his eyes like the reflection of stars. His gaze was resolute.
In their final farewell, they stepped together into the heart of the lotus.
Light bathed their faces; wind and water ceased to move.
Qingmei knelt before the glowing lotus bud and stroked its surface gently.
Her voice trembled as she whispered to the unborn child within.
Little Yushuang, my precious one, you have not yet seen your mother’s face,
and already I must leave you.
If you can hear me, remember my voice. Your father’s name is Baisheng,
your mother’s name is Qingmei. May our love be woven into the pattern of fate,
into the fabric of this world, so that you may live in peace.
They had wished for Bai Guyu to remain behind and protect the clan,
but he insisted on joining them in battle. The Ancient Gods fight. They do not flee.
Before departing, he placed the iris-shaped hairpin
he had forged beside the White Lotus.
He looked at it one last time at the sister he would never meet
then took up his sword and followed his parents and kin into the storm.
That battle shattered the heavens and tore apart the sea of stars.
Baisheng and Qingmei fought until their bodies perished and their souls became starlight,
eternal guardians of the sky. Bai Guyu slew the Devourer’s king but was struck down,
his divine spirit scattered. None knew whether he lived or died.
From that day forth, the Ancient God Clan was gone
all perished in their duty, save for Bai Yushuang, who still slept within the
Pure World White Lotus, waiting for the dawn of her time.
