Intoxicated by Her Pheromones - Chapter 12
Then, she pulled out a used inhibitor from her pocket.
Song Qing stared at the inhibitor without moving, examining it for a while before finally standing up and taking the bottle with her.
Half a year ago, to better immerse herself in a role, she had learned how to extract fingerprints for a medical examiner character. Though some time had passed since then, a top-tier alpha’s memory and learning abilities were formidable—such a task was hardly a challenge for her.
So, she immediately took the inhibitor upstairs.
At the end of the hallway was a small room. Song Qing pushed the door open and turned on the light. The cleaning lady came every week, so the room remained just as she had left it—neat and tidy.
Rows of neatly arranged books and various cold instruments sat to one side. After setting down the inhibitor, Song Qing reached for a white lab coat and a mask. Once everything was ready, she got to work.
But because she had also touched the inhibitor, Song Qing quickly collected two fingerprints from it.
One, upon comparison, was hers. The other… she already knew whose it was.
A flash of killing intent flickered in her eyes. After photographing the second fingerprint, she immediately sent it to He Sheng.
He Sheng replied quickly, “What’s this?”
“Found it in my coat. Initial judgment—it was left by that person. I don’t use this stuff. She was the one who brought me home, and my coat smelled like this. So, the only one who could’ve used it is her.”
“Got it. I’ll look into it,” He Sheng responded.
Song Qing took off the lab coat and mask and left the room.
The cleaning lady had already arrived. Standing at the top of the stairs, Song Qing glanced down and noticed the woman was unusually bundled up today, prompting her to take a second look.
Then, with sharp intuition, she spotted something off.
“How long have you been playing this game? Aren’t you tired of it?”
Amused, she slowly descended the stairs, watching as Ye Zi—now exposed—removed her mask. Song Qing’s eyes gleamed with mischief. “But honestly, this outfit really suits you. If you ever quit being my manager, you could consider a career in cleaning. I’d definitely support you.”
“You’ve got the nerve to joke around—seems like you’ve been doing well lately?” Ye Zi rolled her eyes at Song Qing before quickly stripping off her full disguise.
“You have no idea how hard it is to see you these days. For some reason, the place is swarming with reporters and paparazzi. I had to take so many detours just to sneak in—otherwise, I wouldn’t have made it.”
“What’s going on? Did something big happen again?” Song Qing asked.
After all, Ye Zi rarely came to see her. In the company, Ye Zi was one of the more influential managers, so she usually had her hands full with her own responsibilities and rarely had time to micromanage Song Qing.
Most of the time, she just handed her resources and left her to her own devices.
It had barely been a week since their last meeting. Knowing Ye Zi, this was practically unheard of—something must have happened.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t be here like this.
“It’s not really a big deal. It’s just that you’ve been unusually quiet lately, and I was worried something might have happened to you. Plus, the variety show has been finalized. I’ve already found the omega to pair up with you for the CP. I wanted to take you to meet them. If everything checks out, we can sign the contract, and the company can start promoting it.”
“Oh, I see. Alright then, give me a moment. I’ll go get ready.”
