Intoxicated by Her Pheromones - Chapter 17
Just then, her phone rang.
The piercing classic ringtone shattered the moment.
Song Qing shot an annoyed glance at her phone tossed carelessly on the table, her eyes filled with displeasure at the interrupted intimacy. She was about to vent her anger when—
Her gaze landed on the somewhat familiar name flashing on the screen. Frowning but saying nothing, she abruptly stood up without explanation.
Su Shu lay disheveled on the sofa, watching her, not having had the chance to speak.
Song Qing bluntly demanded to add her as a friend.
Su Shu froze, puzzled by Song Qing’s sudden request, but complied, nonetheless.
To her surprise, the moment the friend request was accepted, Song Qing immediately transferred 10,000 yuan without a word.
“What does this mean?” Su Shu stared at the unclaimed money, her eyes glinting with cold darkness in a place Song Qing couldn’t see.
“Nothing much. Just buy yourself something to eat. Ye Zi will contact you later about the contract. I have something urgent to attend to now—we’ll meet again when the variety show starts in a couple of days.”
As she spoke, Song Qing dressed hurriedly, then patted Su Shu’s head as if soothing a puppy, completely disregarding her feelings before walking out.
Su Shu remained motionless, watching her retreating figure until Song Qing disappeared from view. Only then did she withdraw her gaze, her eyes icy as they settled on the 10,000 yuan—money that felt like payment for a cheap fling.
Had she not known Song Qing well, she might not have been angry. She might have even believed Song Qing was genuinely concerned about her going hungry.
But she did know Song Qing. And she understood perfectly, this 10,000 yuan was nothing but a petty deposit—Song Qing’s way of paying her off and keeping her in line.
In Song Qing’s eyes, she might have once been someone with principles.
But now that she’d agreed to become Song Qing’s lover, it was only natural for Song Qing to assume money could buy her compliance. From Song Qing’s perspective, she was desperate for cash, so this payoff would make her obedient and controllable.
But Song Qing was wrong.
The master of this game wasn’t Song Qing.
It was Su Shu.
Still, she would take the money. After all, maintaining her current persona was crucial—she couldn’t break character until she had Song Qing completely.
A smirk curled her lips as Su Shu imagined the ample alone time with Song Qing that her plan would soon afford her. The thought made her giddy.
Sensing its owner’s mood, the jet-black Brazilian black kingsnake emerged from the shadows, slithering affectionately around Su Shu’s fingers, its forked tongue flicking as it gazed up at her.
Su Shu smiled, tapping its head with her finger.
Though her smile seemed doting, it carried the same chilling undertone as her demeanor—much like the snake she kept. Cute at first glance, but its true power was undeniable.
“I know you’re impatient too, but don’t worry. It won’t be long before the three of us are living together.”
“Mommy’s plan is flawless. Everything is unfolding exactly as I envisioned. It won’t be much longer before she joins us.”
Su Shu murmured these words lazily, stroking the serpent coiled around her hand.
The snake’s inky scales contrasted starkly against her pale skin, making her complexion appear even more porcelain-like. Yet this unnatural whiteness only accentuated the eerie aura surrounding her.
But Su Shu didn’t care at all. Instead, she lazily glanced at the time and, deciding it was about right, curled her lips slightly. Ignoring her disheveled long hair and her lips reddened by Song Qing’s kisses, she rose from the sofa like a phantom.
