Intoxicated by Her Pheromones - Chapter 20
So, she continued.
“I don’t like that contract.”
“Don’t like it? Then what do you want to do?” Song Qing asked, momentarily stunned.
Just like that, the initiative in the conversation fell into Su Shu’s hands.
“Actually, there’s nothing particularly unsatisfactory about it. It’s just that I’m a bit concerned about the drama.”
“What’s wrong? Isn’t it good for you to be the female lead with me?”
“No, it’s not. I just debuted, and such a high-profile role isn’t suitable for me. It could cause unnecessary trouble for both of us. Besides, that drama is scheduled to air after the variety show. Since we’ve already agreed to promote a CP in the show, pairing up again in the drama would seem too deliberate. The audience might criticize us for it.” Su Shu spoke earnestly.
There wasn’t a trace of joy in her tone about collaborating with Song Qing—only worry, as if she feared Song Qing would bring her trouble.
“Is that really how you feel?” Song Qing asked, disbelieving. She had thought arranging such a role for the omega would move her, but now it seemed the opposite was true.
The other party didn’t appreciate her gesture at all.
“I’m sorry. I know you’re doing this for my sake, but it really isn’t necessary. Acting in a drama with you as the lead is too much for me. A supporting role would be more appropriate.”
“Ungrateful… Hah, I get it. I’ll tell Ye Zi right away. Is there anything else?”
“No, that’s all. Thank you.” Su Shu replied calmly, unaffected by Song Qing’s tone. She remained composed, almost indifferent, as if they were strangers. But in truth, they both knew each other’s “secrets” all too well.
After being rejected, Song Qing had been suppressing her anger, and Su Shu’s detached tone only fueled it further.
Without another word, she hung up the phone.
Then, with a displeased expression, she vented to He Sheng. He Sheng took the cigarette from her hand, lit it for herself, and silently smoked while listening to Song Qing’s complaints.
On the other side of the screen, Su Shu watched as Song Qing’s emotions fluctuated so intensely because of her. A twisted sense of satisfaction filled her heart.
She had to admit, she was pleased with the current situation.
And the mere thought of Song Qing being angry because of her made her unbearably happy.
It might sound perverse, but that was truly how she felt.
Not only that, but those twisted thoughts in her mind grew even more numerous.
Depraved fantasies, like a Pandora’s box filled with surreal colors—once opened, the consequences would be unpredictable.
Yet even knowing this, Su Shu opened it without hesitation.
Because she had never been one to restrain herself.
And in a way, Song Qing and she were the same kind of people.
So, it was fine.
These thoughts… would one day come true.
After all, she believed Song Qing must have thought of them too.
…
“I thought you’d found some omega but turns out it’s just that kind of trash. Anyone who didn’t know better would think you’d found yourself an ancestor. The way you were just now answering the phone—if I didn’t know you, I wouldn’t believe you’d ever have a day like that. Song Qing, be honest—do you like her?”
He Sheng pinched out her cigarette, dropped it to the ground, and extinguished the last ember with her toe before looking up at Song Qing.
Song Qing’s eyes widened immediately at the words.
Not out of guilt, but simply because she found it ridiculous.
“You can eat whatever you want, but don’t just say anything. And do you really think that’s possible? The reason I acted like that just now is simply because I couldn’t be bothered to argue with her. She’s a newly acquired omega—I have to humor her a little for now. Besides, she hasn’t signed the contract yet. Once it’s signed, I won’t let her off so easily.”
“Really?” He Sheng sounded skeptical.
“Of course. Why wouldn’t it be true? Don’t forget—I’m Song Qing. And you know me—I could never settle down with any omega. At most, they’re just bed partners.”
“Fair enough. But have you really given up on treating your condition?” He Sheng asked, feeling a pang of regret at the thought of Song Qing’s illness.
“No, I’m not planning to. It’s fine like this, isn’t it? I can keep playing around. Maybe by the time I’m too old for it, I’ll have recovered on my own.”
Song Qing said it casually.
He Sheng didn’t respond.
If the person involved felt that way, what could an outsider say?
Still, it really was a shame… Song Qing hadn’t always been like this.
…
After catching a ride home with He Sheng, Song Qing called Ye Zi—first to have her deal with a body, and second to revise a contract.
Su Shu was right—that resource would be wasted on her. So everything would be adjusted according to Su Shu’s wishes. Slower payments would be fine too.
“You’re really going to listen to her?” Ye Zi asked, incredulous.
Song Qing stretched, carelessly tossing her jacket aside before sprawling inelegantly across the sofa, her long legs crossed on the coffee table.
She was wearing shorts, revealing slender, pale legs that were undeniably sexy.
“Why not? Weren’t you planning to promote some new talent anyway? I’m giving you the opportunity. With me, Song Qing, acting alongside her, it’s bound to make waves for a while.”
“Alright, fine. But behave yourself this time—no more trouble. I won’t be able to clean up after you again,” Ye Zi said, seeing the logic in it. After all, to her, promoting one person or another made little difference. If Su Shu didn’t appreciate the opportunity, someone else would.
“Relax, I should be able to stay out of trouble for a while. Oh, and send some people over—there’s something I need you to handle,” Song Qing said, examining her newly lengthened nails.
Ye Zi paused. “What is it?”
“Nothing major. You’ll see when you get here. Also, find me a new assistant. This time, vet them properly. I don’t want any riffraff sneaking in and ruining my mood.”
With that, Song Qing hung up.
On the other end, Ye Zi immediately panicked at her words.
So, she sent a message asking what exactly was going on.
Song Qing couldn’t be bothered to explain and simply sent an address before falling silent.
With Ye Zi’s abilities, there was no need for her to worry about what came next.
Surely, once Ye Zi saw it, everything would become clear.
Still, it had to be said—that person really had some skills.
To come up with such an… unconventional method of killing…
Interesting. Very interesting.
It even made her want to meet that person.
