Intoxicated by Her Pheromones - Chapter 4
After leaving the hotel with a dark expression, Song Qing initially thought about going to a bar. But considering the numerous negative rumors about her circulating online, being spotted at a bar now would only add fuel to the fire. Reluctantly, she decided to head home instead.
Yet, as she drove, the image of that omega’s unwilling expression before she left kept resurfacing in her mind, reigniting her anger.
How ungrateful!
Did that omega even know her place? How dare she reject her?
As expected, all omegas were the same—give them an inch, and they’d take a mile!
Memories of the past flooded back, and Song Qing’s emotions spiraled out of control again.
Her barely stabilized pheromones also began to fluctuate wildly, filling the car with the overpowering scent of jasmine tea.
Her eyes burned red, lips pressed into a tight line.
Her grip on the steering wheel unconsciously tightened.
The late-night streets were empty. Song Qing slammed the accelerator, rolled down the window, and let the rushing wind tangle her hair, forcing herself to cool down.
The car sped like a shooting star through the darkness, arriving home in no time. As she pulled up, she noticed someone already waiting at her doorstep.
Ye Zi approached the moment she spotted Song Qing’s car.
“Back so soon? I thought you’d be gone for a few more days.”
“As if I’m that kind of person,” Song Qing retorted, brushing past Ye Zi without a glance as she unlocked the door and strode into the villa.
“Aren’t you, though?” Ye Zi followed behind, teasing.
“Think whatever you want,” Song Qing replied dismissively, no longer bothering to humor her.
She ran a hand through her disheveled hair before collapsing onto the sofa, a far cry from her usual glamorous on-screen persona. She pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and clamped it between her lips.
“What’s wrong? Who pissed you off? Was that omega not to your liking again?” Ye Zi immediately picked up on her foul mood.
Song Qing scoffed, her expression darkening as she recalled how the omega had recoiled from her afterward.
“Just some ordinary omega. Nothing special. I was just in a bad state earlier, so I thought she was decent. But looking back, she’s nothing remarkable—just another fruity scent. Plenty of omegas like her out there.”
“Is that so?” Ye Zi studied her with a probing gaze, as if seeing right through her. “Then why this reaction? Anyone would think you got rejected.”
“Rejected? Impossible!” Song Qing frowned. “What’s there for her to reject? I’m Song Qing! If anything, I’m the one who should be rejecting her!”
“Then why do you look like some bitter, scorned lover? People might think you got kicked out of bed for bad performance,” Ye Zi teased, raising an eyebrow.
Song Qing’s frown deepened, about to retort—
But her thoughts involuntarily derailed at Ye Zi’s words.
Was she really that bad in bed?
No way…
Back then, Su Shu had seemed to be enjoying herself, hadn’t she?
Her brows furrowed further.
Song Qing spoke up, “That can’t be. She even praised me back then.”
“Maybe she was just too embarrassed to say anything, so she said that at the time. But afterward, she probably realized how bad you were.”
“Is that really the case?”
“Then let me ask you—did you ever ask for more afterward?”
“Yeah.”
“What was her reaction?”
Song Qing frowned, the emotions flickering across her face clearly answering the question.
“See? Doesn’t that prove everything?”
Ye Zi said, unable to hide the amusement in her eyes at the thought of Song Qing being treated this way. But she stifled her laughter, afraid of provoking her.
“Still, I never thought I’d see the day when even Song Qing would get this kind of treatment. That omega must’ve had it rough, ending up with you.”
“What nonsense! She didn’t say anything, so how do you know it’s my fault?” Song Qing retorted.
Ye Zi immediately countered, “But your reaction says it all, doesn’t it?” Then she got up and headed to Song Qing’s liquor cabinet to grab a bottle.
Song Qing narrowed her eyes at her and threatened, “What reaction? Stop spreading rumors about me! Or do you want me to sue you for defamation? Don’t think just because you’re my manager I won’t put you in your place. You’ve known me long enough—you know exactly what I’m like.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll stop. I’ll leave, okay?” Ye Zi quickly backed down and made her way out of Song Qing’s house.
But once she reached the door, the image of Song Qing’s expression made her laugh uncontrollably.
Still, she knew better than to push things too far, so she shifted her focus to business and called the omega.
“Hey, it’s me.”
Su Shu: “Yeah, I know. What’s up?”
“I’m calling to inform you—the contract is over. You’re free to go. The hotel’s booked for seven days, so you can stay until then if you want.”
Su Shu: “Why?”
“Because the mark on you hasn’t faded yet. I’d suggest staying a few more days until it’s gone.”
“No need. I’ve already left.”
“Fine. The payment’s been transferred to your account. Just remember the terms of the contract—don’t disclose anything about Song Qing. Otherwise…” Ye Zi trailed off, leaving the unspoken consequences hanging in the air.
Su Shu obliged, “Don’t worry. I signed the contract, so I won’t break it. You can cancel the hotel. I’m already gone.”
“Good.”
“If there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now,” Ye Zi said, about to end the call.
“Wait.” Su Shu stopped her.
On the other end of the line, the grip on the phone tightened until the knuckles turned white. When she mentioned the alpha’s name, her voice was hoarse.
“I saw the news online. Is Song Qing… okay?”
“She’s fine. That’s none of your concern,” Ye Zi replied coolly. “The contract explicitly states no inquiries about Song Qing’s private matters. What, do you think sleeping with her a few times makes you special?”
“No, I just saw the news and got a bit worried. Other than that, nothing much. Don’t overthink it. Since I’ve already taken the money, I’ll definitely do what needs to be done.”
“Good, that’s all I needed to hear. Otherwise, we’d have to settle this in court.”
“I understand. Don’t worry, I won’t let it come to that.”
The omega’s compliance saved Ye Zi a lot of trouble. The corners of her lips curled slightly, and recalling Song Qing’s earlier assessment of that person, her smile deepened.
“Interesting, really interesting. Looks like there’s going to be some fun ahead…”
…
After Ye Zi left, Song Qing shut herself in at home.
Online, the unrealistic scandals about her were multiplying, most of them targeting her alleged hatred of omegas. Not only that, but many omegas she didn’t even know were claiming to be her exes, riding the wave of attention to further smear her.
The other party had plenty of “evidence”—accusations of Song Qing despising omegas, treating them as less than human, along with fabricated chat logs and screenshots. They even claimed Song Qing had emotionally manipulated her, insulted her dignity, then cruelly abandoned her, leaving her with severe depression and drowning in tears every day.
Many netizens, unaware of the truth, believed the overwhelming “proof,” and Song Qing’s Weibo was instantly flooded. People, misled by false information, convinced themselves they had uncovered the “truth.”
So, they hoisted the banner of justice and hurled abuse at her.
Meanwhile, the omega’s Weibo comments were uniformly filled with warm, supportive messages—obviously the work of paid trolls. It was clear someone was orchestrating this to ruin her.
Still, the fallout severely impacted Song Qing’s upcoming work. After issuing a statement, her company suspended all her activities and told her to rest at home.
Song Qing didn’t protest or show any frustration, let alone anger, because she trusted Ye Zi to handle it.
Right now, only one thing bothered her.
Was she really that bad in bed?
To verify this, Song Qing scoured the internet for references and even replayed the omega’s reactions from that night in her mind.
But the more she analyzed it, the more she missed it—the moment their scents had mingled during their desperate entanglement, the omega’s intoxicating pheromones blending with hers. The omega’s flushed face, the soft gasps, the way she’d trembled with pleasure.
“Ugh… I’m going insane…”
Song Qing clawed at her hair in frustration.
Then she called Ye Zi.
“Hello?”
Ye Zi: “What’s up?”
“How’s the selection going for the new variety show’s omega?”
“Haven’t found one yet. Why?”
“Nothing. Just let me know when you do.”
“Oh? So, someone’s feeling lonely.” Ye Zi teased, but before she could say more, Song Qing hung up on her.
Ye Zi: “…”
Seriously?
Is this what happens when you piss off a sexually frustrated alpha?
Ye Zi rolled her eyes, but worried Song Qing might have more to say, so she called back—only to find the line busy.
…
On Song Qing’s end, after hanging up the phone, she lay listlessly on the bed.
But before long, her phone rang again.
It was a message from a stalker fan who had been harassing her for some time.
“I like you… I really like you…”
“If only I could make you mine.”
“Song Qing… Song Qing…”
“I really, really like you, but so many people like you… If only you were mine, I would treat you so well.”
“Why aren’t you answering? Do you hate me now?”
“Never mind, it’s fine. We’ll meet soon, and then your eyes will be only on me.”
After sending this, the person followed up with a smiling emoji.
Song Qing frowned, sensing something was off.
She immediately dialed the number back.
But it turned out to be disconnected.
