It Seems I’m Not The Only One Who Reincarnated - Chapter 32: Shi Meng
No matter how much she tried to argue, Shi Hai remained unmoved, which made Liu Zhenshan very angry.
Her son was great in every way, but he had zero emotional intelligence.
Seeing that two beautiful young girls were about to move in across the hall, Liu Zhenshan felt she would be incredibly frustrated if nothing came of it.
“I’m done arguing with you. I’m going to bed.”
Despite his high energy levels, mental exhaustion, or what is commonly known as emotional fatigue, had accumulated in other ways.
However, Liu Zhenshan wasn’t ready to let him off the hook yet.
As Shi Hai was heading to his room, she grabbed his waistband again.
“Wait! Don’t go! I still have something important to tell you!”
“Got it! I’m listening, just stop pulling on my pants!”
Once Shi Hai stopped, she continued.
“Actually, it’s about your new sister.”
“That’s pretty important. You should have mentioned it sooner.”
“Sorry… I’m just not good with remembering things.”
In reality, she had been too engrossed in stirring up trouble to remember earlier.
“Let’s start with her personality and appearance.”
“Shouldn’t you start with her name first?”
Ignoring Shi Hai’s comment, Liu Zhenshan folded her arms and spoke to herself.
“Let me think… How should I describe her? My verbal skills aren’t good enough to convey her charm perfectly… Hmm… Ah! I’ve got it!”
After thinking for a while, Liu Zhenshan came up with a good idea and asked:
“Do you remember, at the beginning of last year, we watched an anime together?”
“Beginning of last year? Which one? You’ve watched so many on your own…”
Shi Hai didn’t avoid watching anime at home, and Liu Zhenshan often watched along with him.
Perhaps due to her youthful mindset, Liu Zhenshan had a strong ability to accept new things.
Last year, during Shi Hai’s first year of college, Liu Zhenshan watched even more enthusiastically than he did, keeping up with almost all popular new shows.
She had fallen into the anime and light novel fandom, even watching shows like Hanasaku Iroha and Yuru Yuri that Shi Hai hadn’t seen.
From then on, she developed a strange perception, blindly believing all girls were wonderful.
In short, the mother and son both love stories.
“It’s the one with Madoka.”
“Oh… Madoka…”
That anime featured all high school girls.
Shi Hai remembered there wasn’t a sister character in it.
If anything, the closest would be Homura.
“Your new sister is very similar to Homura-chan!”
“Cough, cough, cough!”
So she’s like Akemi Homura! That’s pretty high-strung!
“Wait, Mom, do you mean with or without glasses?”
“Without glasses.”
“…”
She’s quite aloof then!
“Although she looks indifferent, she actually cares deeply about the people around her. She’s the type who appears cold on the outside but is warm on the inside!”
“Are you sure I’ll get along well with her?”
“Of course! She’s very endearing! You’ll definitely be charmed by her!”
Okay…..
“Alright then…”
Since Mom was already preparing to bring her home, he could only go with the flow.
“And then there’s her name.”
“You’re only mentioning this now…”
Shouldn’t this have been mentioned from the start?
“She used to be called ‘Bai Meng’.”
“Used to? What’s her name now?”
“That’s what I need your opinion on.”
“Why ask me? Am I supposed to help choose a new name? It’s not necessary to change her name, is it?”
“No, the name won’t change, but the surname will… Because she specifically told me that since she’s going to be part of our family, she wants her surname to be the same as ours to show that she really wants to integrate into our family.”
“Well, Mom, you decide then.”
“I can’t. Although I’m your mother, I don’t have the surname ‘Shi’.”
“Oh… I see. So, you want her to take my surname?”
Liu Zhenshan nodded and looked at him seriously.
“Right now, you’re the head of the Shi family.”
Shi Hai thought that having her take the surname ‘Liu’ would sound nice too, though it might remind people of a character from Sword and Fairy 4.
He didn’t really mind, so without much thought, he said,
“I understand. Since she suggested it herself, I don’t have any objections. Let her take my surname.”
“Then it’s settled! Your sister will now be called ‘Shi Meng’!”
Shi Meng.
It’s quite a nice name.
“If that’s all, I’m going to bed now…”
“Aren’t you waiting for Lingling to come back?”
“Why should I wait for her?”
“To say goodnight. That way she’ll feel like you care about her.”
Shi Hai felt helpless, realizing that his previous words were completely ignored by his mother.
Liu Zhenshan, appearing experienced, lectured him earnestly.
“Don’t always overlook the details. Girls are often moved by such details. Before going to bed, she’ll remember how good you were to her. If similar things accumulate, she’ll think of you constantly, even in her dreams. Eventually, she’ll naturally fall for you and won’t be able to extricate herself!”
“I’m not trying to pursue her…”
Liu Zhenshan, frustrated by her son’s lack of understanding, kicked him in the butt and scolded,
“Humph! You useless son! Go to bed! Sleep it off!”
Shi Hai decided to just treat his mom’s behavior as another one of her quirks, ignoring it as he headed back to his room and closed the door.
He could hear some muffled conversation outside, probably between Zhu Lingjie and his mom, but he couldn’t make out the details and didn’t care to.
After tossing his clothes onto a chair and not even changing into pajamas, he collapsed onto his bed and quickly fell asleep.
The long day came to an end.
<->
The next day.
September 11.
At exactly seven in the morning, Shi Hai woke up on time.
He never needed an alarm clock; his biological clock was accurate to the minute.
There was no snoozing; he woke up as soon as he opened his eyes.
After a good sleep, Shi Hai felt that his spirits were almost fully restored.
Then, as if guarding Shi Hai’s wake-up time, Jian Sichun energetically barged in.
“Good morning! Did you sleep well? Did you have a good dream!?”
Shi Hai, stretching his arms, saw Jian Sichun come in and felt his energy start to wane.
Jian Sichun looked at Shi Hai, who was only wearing his underwear, with unabashed interest, her expression gradually becoming a bit perverse.
To her, this was a long-awaited treat.
Before her rebirth, she could touch and even sleep beside him whenever she wanted. Now, she could only look and indulge her cravings.
She made herself comfortable on Shi Hai’s bed, hugging his pillow and sniffing the familiar scent as she praised him.
“Wow~ Your physique is still as impressive as ever!”
Shi Hai had an unexpectedly well-built body. However, because he usually wore loose sportswear, it wasn’t apparent when he was dressed.
Jian Sichun thought that if Shi Hai took off his clothes, he would definitely attract a lot of hungry female college students… so he must never take off his clothes in public!
Seeing him in his half naked state was her exclusive benefit!
