It Seems I’m Not The Only One Who Reincarnated - Chapter 7: Suspicion
Upon leaving the Building, passing the Second Cafeteria, and walking by the main building of the School of Information Engineering, one could see the old dormitory halfway up the back hill.
One wonders what people were thinking when they decided to build the dormitory on a steep slope, forcing students to climb several hundred meters every day to get to class.
Maybe it was intended to build up their physical stamina.
Due to its elevated position, even though the old dormitory had only five floors, it was still the “tallest” building in the university, providing a panoramic view of the entire campus from its rooftop.
In the past, there used to be eight dormitory buildings in that area. However, to make way for the new teaching building of the newly established School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the old dormitory area was entirely demolished, except for this single highest-positioned dormitory building. The reason remained a mystery, but today Shi Hai finally understood why.
Most likely, that woman enjoyed the feeling of overlooking everything from the “highest point.”
Actually, up until last year, this solitary old dormitory was still in use, primarily allocated to the male students of the nearby School of Information Engineering.
Shi Hai’s initial assigned dorm room was also in this lone building, but he was soon ordered to move out shortly after the start of the semester. To this day, he still didn’t know where his new dorm room was.
Since Shi Hai’s home wasn’t far from the university, only a forty-minute subway ride, he never lived in the dormitory. Therefore, knowing the location of his new dorm room wasn’t important to him.
Jian Sichun followed Shi Hai, guessing their destination as Shi Hai walked upward.
“Are we going to the old dormitory?” Jian Sichun asked.
“Yes, have you been there?” Shi Hai replied.
“No, but I’ve heard about it,” Jian Sichun responded.
Jian Sichun recalled distant memories, speaking uncertainly.
“I remember it was a boys’ dormitory… and later it became a ghost building after the boys moved out…”
“Actually, quite a few people still come here…” Shi Hai recalled the whispers on every floor, murmuring to himself.
Jian Sichun, tapping her chin with her finger, continued.
“Oh, I remember now, there were rumors that students who couldn’t afford a hotel would bring their own mattresses here, treating it like a free love motel… um…”
Realizing the implication behind Shi Hai’s words, Jian Sichun quickly clarified.
“Wait! Were you implying that I might have been here with someone else?”
“No.”
Shi Hai hadn’t thought that deeply; he had just asked a casual question to avoid awkward silence.
However, Jian Sichun didn’t think so. She quickened her pace to catch up with him and leaned forward to solemnly declare.
“I really haven’t been here! I’m still ‘original’! If you don’t believe me, you can…”
Check for yourself…
She didn’t say it out loud.
Jian Sichun realized that such a statement wasn’t appropriate at the moment.
They had just met and weren’t familiar enough to have such an unguarded conversation.
“…”
Original, meaning, not deflowered.
But there’s no need to share such information…
Shi Hai pretended to cough, seeing her cheeks redden further, and then reassured her.
“Ahem… I understand, there’s no need to be so excited…”
Jian Sichun, inwardly screaming ‘What am I saying!’, but outwardly maintained a shy expression, explained.
“I-I was just afraid you’d misunderstand…”
You emphasizing it makes me really think you’re setting up a ‘pure’ persona.
Just like some girls would say, ‘I’ve never been to a bar,’ actually implying, ‘I’m not a loose person.’
Shi Hai felt he understood, and Jian Sichun also felt she understood.
“So, the reason you are bringing me here…”
“Absolutely not!”
Shi Hai answered instantly, without a moment of hesitation.
“Alright… I knew you weren’t that kind of person, but it wasn’t what I thought…”
What’s with that disappointed look?!
Shi Hai almost burst out laughing.
Please stop, I might really think you like me!
Fortunately, Jian Sichun didn’t stay silent, instead raising a topic.
“But this place isn’t suitable for talking, is it?”
“Yeah, so we’re going to the rooftop.”
“Can we access the rooftop?”
“I have the key.”
“You have the key to this place… Wait, isn’t the rooftop of the old dormitory supposed to be Senior Tian Shui’s domain?”
Jian Sichun’s reaction was unexpected to Shi Hai, who thought, ‘So Senior Tian Shui is really famous in school,’ and then asked.
“You know Senior Tian Shui?”
“No, I don’t… A high and mighty figure like her, how could I know her?”
“I see.”
The conversation ended there, and Jian Sichun fell into her own thoughts.
In her previous life, Jian Sichun hadn’t interacted with Tian Shui, but she had heard of her impressive reputation.
After starting her third year, she studied abroad, then got her Ph.D. and returned home, while most people were still completing their undergraduate studies.
Upon returning, she founded an internet company, focusing on communication and high-tech fields, and within five years, the company went public, named ‘Tianshi Group.’
In Jian Sichun’s known history, the company went through several mergers and acquisitions, eventually becoming a well-known ‘business empire.’
For ordinary people, these details weren’t of much concern, aside from marveling at the rise of another super-rich individual.
More talked about was the CEO and Chairwoman of the company, Tian Shui.
Strong-willed, extraordinary, young, beautiful, and with a stunning figure.
She represented the epitome of the ‘perfect rich woman.’
Despite not being a celebrity, she had more fans than some A-list stars.
The reasons for men’s attraction were obvious, but many female fans admired her for her independence, seeing her as a spiritual leader due to her single status and lack of any scandalous news.
Jian Sichun had watched an interview about this on a program.
After watching, Jian Sichun merely marveled, ‘Wow, so our alma mater produced such an incredible person,’ but didn’t idolize her.
After all, such a legendary woman felt too distant.
While Jian Sichun admired her, she didn’t envy her.
So what if she had vast wealth?
Still, she was just a single old maiden!
Jian Sichun thought with a bit of malice.
Not only that, but she also felt a strange sense of superiority.
I have a man who loves me most and only me!
Jian Sichun vaguely remembered that the program revealed Tian Shui’s favorite spot in college was the rooftop of the old dormitory…
A place supposedly off-limits to anyone but her.
Why did Shi Hai have the rooftop key?
And why did he call her ‘Senior Tian Shui’?
She recalled watching that program with him, and at that time, he addressed her by name.
Jian Sichun was puzzled because Shi Hai had never mentioned this to her.
They had promised each other to share everything without reservation, keeping no secrets between them.
Jian Sichun felt her instincts as a woman were signaling suspicion.
As they climbed the stairs, Jian Sichun remained doubtful, and Shi Hai, feeling unnerved by her gaze, quickened his pace until they reached the rooftop.
Shi Hai found the door open again.
It seemed the owner was there.
This time, Tian Shui wasn’t standing on high but was facing the entrance as if waiting for him.
Seeing Shi Hai and Jian Sichun enter, Tian Shui subtly glanced at Jian Sichun.
In the next second, she acted as if she hadn’t seen Jian Sichun, warmly greeted Shi Hai, and clung to his arm.
“Oh dear sweetheart~ It’s been so long~ I missed you so much~”
Her sweet voice gave Shi Hai goosebumps.
Meanwhile, seeing Tian Shui act like a seductive vixen, Jian Sichun was petrified.
Her sense of superiority shattered into pieces.
