As soon as the cheerful King sat down, lunch was served. 

Phew. It looked like the main dish wasn’t going to be the terrifying combination of cream puffs and mitarashi dango. As expected of the head chef—well done. 

Today’s main dish was a vegetable-rich soup. Of course, it also had meat that melted in my mouth. It was absolutely delicious. The roasted pork served on the side was excellent too. Wrapping it in leafy greens made for a perfect bite. 

While everyone was happily munching away, my brothers couldn’t help but be curious. When there was a good pause in the meal, they turned to the King. 

“Your Majesty, you seem to be in an unusually good mood today. Did something happen?” 

“Heh, well, yes. You two will find out soon enough.” 

The King couldn’t help but chuckle. He must have liked it that much. But which one was it? The cream puffs or the mitarashi dango? 

When I looked up from my thoughts, I found Brother Gilliam and Brother Leonard staring at me. 

They definitely think it’s my fault, don’t they? And they’re absolutely right. At this rate, I might get a nickname like “The Troublemaker Prince” soon. Until now, that title belonged to Brother Leonard. What an injustice. 

Mother then changed the topic. They looked at my brothers. 

“I heard you two were discussing an inspection. Where are you planning to go this time?” 

“We’re planning to visit the Duchy of Flute.” 

The Duchy of Flute is one of the Four Great Duchies of the Kingdom of Eladoria. For some reason, it has a musical instrument as its name. And there actually is an instrument called the flute. Maybe they invented it? The truth is unknown. 

“Is there some issue there?” 

“This is just between us, but they seem to be losing some influence. I plan to visit as a member of the royal family to boost their morale and reinvigorate their power.” 

“I see. Just the visit from a royal family member would be enough to create a buzz.” 

By showing a strong connection to the royal family, it would be easier for the duchy to regain its influence. It would be problematic if one of the Four Great Duchies were to decline, after all. 

An inspection of the Duchy of Flute… This could be an opportunity. 

“Brother Leonard, may I join you on this inspection?” 

“Hmm, let’s hear your reason first.” 

Brother Leonard responded with a smile. A fake one—I could tell. He’s probably thinking it’ll mean more work for him. But that won’t be the case. 

“I want more people to learn about my Summoning Skill. If things stay as they are, I’ll never be able to take my adorable magical creatures outside.” 

“…Is that really necessary?” 

Wait, did he just say that? It’s absolutely necessary! But only the King knows that I received a divine decree from the Creator God to raise awareness of the Summoning Skill. Should I tell them now? I glanced over at the King. 

“Leonard, take Rufus with you. It’s about time he saw more of the outside world. He can’t stay cooped up in the castle forever.” 

Nice save, Your Majesty. I don’t know if it’s because of the divine decree or because he’s in a good mood from the new sweets. But he handled it perfectly. 

With the King’s request, Brother Leonard had no choice but to agree. He could only nod. 

“Understood. If it’s a royal decree, then I’ll take Rufus with me. Rufus, make sure you follow my instructions.” 

“Of course!” 

“Really…?” 

Brother Leonard responded with a wry smile. 

Hey, isn’t he treating his cute little brother a bit too casually? I’m not that much of a troublemaker. If anything, Brother Leonard is the real troublemaker. 

With that, we finished the main course. And only dessert was left. Then, the cream puffs and mitarashi dango were served. In front of the King were three cream puffs. It seemed he favored the cream puffs the most. 

“C-Could it be… cream puffs and mitarashi dango?!” 

Brother Gilliam shouted with joy. He even started nuzzling against the cream puffs and mitarashi dango. Oh, the sweet sauce from the mitarashi dango is stuck to his cheek. That sight could easily kill a century-long crush. 

“So, these are the cream puffs and mitarashi dango that Brother Gilliam was talking about. Both look delicious.” 

“Both are tasty, but the cream puffs are especially good. They have two layers—fresh cream and custard cream. Right, Rufus?” 

“Y-Yes, that’s right.” 

The King’s eyes sparkled brightly. Brother Gilliam really did take after Father. Seeing the King like that, I barely managed to suppress a wry smile. I bet Mother was hiding a wry smile behind her fan, too. Maybe I should get myself a fan as well. 

“I see. So, Rufus was involved after all.” 

“Brother Leonard, what do you mean by ‘after all’? I just gave instructions to Tetsujin. If you’re going to praise someone, praise Tetsujin.” 

“………Isn’t the master responsible for what their magical creature does?” 

Nice comeback. He’s absolutely right. 

In other words, if you trace it back, it’s ultimately my responsibility. 

I couldn’t fool Brother Leonard. Looks like he’s not just a musclehead after all. That was a bit of a relief.
