Kicked Back to a Rich Family by the Real Eldest Daughter - Chapter 19
Chapter 19
Xie Xiangyi was stunned and didn’t dare to move. Her body was stiff and her mind was a mess after Tang Jinzhi’s nonsensical remark.
“I, I didn’t.”
She just hugged Tang Jinzhi. How was that seducing her?!
Tang Jinzhi struggled out of her embrace. While Xie Xiangyi was stunned, she lowered her head and scurried away.
Xie Xiangyi’s dazed gaze swept across Tang Jinzhi’s flushed face, and she was stunned.
Was she shy?
Just from a hug, she got shy?
The expression on Xie Xiangyi’s face softened, and a hint of a smile appeared in her eyes.
If that counted as seduction, then Tang Jinzhi was indeed easy to be seduced.
Tang Jinzhi returned to the living room with a red face. She was hot from her neck all the way to her ears.
She felt embarrassed.
It was all Xie Xiangyi’s fault. She couldn’t just talk normally. She had to hug her.
Tang Jinzhi patted her hot cheeks. She looked up and met Zhang Yueqi’s fiery and gossipy gaze.
Seeing Tang Jinzhi look over, Zhang Yueqi immediately teased her, “Your face is so red.”
Tang Jinzhi weakly defended herself: “Ahem… it’s just hot in here.”
Zhang Yueqi asked with a smile, “Are you two done with your alone time?”
“Hehe, what did Xie Xiangyi do to make you so red?”
Tang Jinzhi bit her teeth and dodged Zhang Yueqi’s gossipy gaze. “Kids shouldn’t meddle in adults’ business.”
Zhang Yueqi rested her hands on the back of the sofa, her bright eyes blinking at Tang Jinzhi. She said in a petulant tone, “But I’m not a kid, and you two aren’t adults, so hurry up and tell me, what did you two do in there?”
Tang Jinzhi: “If we’re not kids or adults, then what are we?”
Zhang Yueqi lifted her chin: “We’re big kids.”
Tang Jinzhi: “…”
Tang Jinzhi was too lazy to argue with her. She poured half a glass of water and went to sit down next to Zhang Yueqi.
She raised the glass and drank the water. The heat on her body subsided a little, and then she said, “I have something I want to discuss with you.”
Zhang Yueqi blinked and froze.
Discuss with her?
It was rare for someone to say they needed to discuss something with her.
She sat up straight and asked, “What is it?”
Tang Jinzhi: “Didn’t you say you felt you were too free? I need your help with some things. You’ll work for me, and I won’t pay you.”
Zhang Yueqi was a little confused by the information in this short sentence.
Tang Jinzhi needed her help? She was going to work for Tang Jinzhi?
But what could she do?
She couldn’t do anything but eat and play.
Wait, no pay?
Zhang Yueqi suspected she had misheard. “Did you just say you’d pay me to work for you?”
Tang Jinzhi rolled her eyes at her and said matter-of-factly, “How can your ears be so bad at such a young age? I said you’ll work for free.”
It was ridiculous. Where would she get the money to pay Zhang Yueqi?
Zhang Yueqi’s eyes widened slightly: “Have you no shame?”
Tang Jinzhi’s lips pulled into a smile: “But I’ll feed you.”
Zhang Yueqi gave a light “tsk,” “Am I short of that meal?”
She was the one who brought the food today.
“But what do you want me to do?”
Zhang Yueqi didn’t care at all whether Tang Jinzhi paid her.
She was super curious. Tang Jinzhi actually needed her help.
Tang Jinzhi explained her idea. She felt that Zhang Yueqi wouldn’t refuse because it was a very easy job.
It was just playing a murder mystery game. She could even invite her friends to play with her. How great was that?
Zhang Yueqi had a strange expression: “Just playing a game?”
Tang Jinzhi nodded: “I need to find people to test it and find bugs. This is very important to me.”
“Of course, I don’t want to go out. If there’s anything I need you to do, like running errands, I’ll at least feed you, so you have to do some work for me.”
Zhang Yueqi: “That’s it?”
She didn’t care about the food. Zhang Yueqi just felt that this job was too easy. It was just playing a game.
She felt like she should be the one paying Tang Jinzhi.
Tang Jinzhi smiled: “Just test two scripts. I just want to see how they work. Your task is heavy. You have to find your own friends to play. At least six people, preferably seven.”
Zhang Yueqi waved her hand dismissively: “That’s it? It’s nothing. I don’t need you to feed me. It’s just finding people to play a game. Leave it to me.”
Tang Jinzhi still smiled.
In fact, besides finding people to test the scripts, everything else was a piece of cake, just making a few copies of the individual scripts.
Or running errands to buy groceries.
Tang Jinzhi knew how to cook, but she didn’t do it every day. When she was hungry, she would order takeout. She just saw cooking as a way to relieve stress and would learn when she was relaxed.
Her offer to feed Zhang Yueqi wasn’t just talk.
After hearing Xie Xiangyi’s serious tone about cutting off Zhang Yueqi’s allowance, she thought Zhang Yueqi would be so poor she couldn’t even afford to eat.
After settling on Zhang Yueqi’s job, Tang Jinzhi started chatting with her casually, her eyes occasionally glancing at the bedroom.
Xie Xiangyi was taking a long time to shower.
Xie Xiangyi only came out after blow-drying her hair, just as the restaurant staff delivered the food.
Before she even reached the living room, she heard the two of them unwrapping the food containers and muttering.
“This restaurant is my family’s. Of course, the staff will deliver the food to me. See? Your wife likes these stir-fried prawns.”
“Stir-fried prawns, I like them too.”
“Then let your wife peel them for you.”
“I don’t think stir-fried prawns need to be peeled, unlike crayfish.”
“Then I’ll order crayfish next time and let your wife peel them for you.”
Tang Jinzhi was almost desensitized to her saying “your wife” so many times.
The same went for Xie Xiangyi. She had originally thought it would be hard to get used to, but hearing Zhang Yueqi say it so naturally, she couldn’t feel awkward anymore.
Being too awkward would seem pretentious.
Seeing Xie Xiangyi come out of the room.
Zhang Yueqi nudged Tang Jinzhi with her elbow and said deliberately, “Your wife is out.”
Tang Jinzhi: “…”
What would happen if she just called Xie Xiangyi by her name?
Xie Xiangyi looked at them, her gaze landing on the top of Tang Jinzhi’s head.
Tang Jinzhi didn’t dare to look up and meet her gaze.
Embarrassing.
Xie Xiangyi’s lips curled up slightly. She walked around Zhang Yueqi and sat down close to Tang Jinzhi.
Just as Tang Jinzhi was about to lean toward Zhang Yueqi, her arm was grabbed by a hand and pulled back.
Xie Xiangyi leaned in and whispered in Tang Jinzhi’s ear, “I didn’t.”
Didn’t? Didn’t what?
Didn’t seduce her?
Did she really have to explain it again? Couldn’t she just let the matter go?
Tang Jinzhi didn’t know if Xie Xiangyi was doing it on purpose, but she lowered her head even more. Thinking about how she had been just now, she felt embarrassed.
Xie Xiangyi had seen all of her embarrassing moments.
Tang Jinzhi secretly scoffed at herself. She didn’t know which of them was more innocent now. She got red and hot just from being hugged.
But could she not handle Xie Xiangyi’s teasing?
Tang Jinzhi felt that she could not.
She was a veteran of “talking the talk”!
While she was still thinking, she heard a soft laugh in her ear.
It was gentle and light.
Tang Jinzhi’s heart skipped a beat.
Zhang Yueqi accidentally bumped into her, and she snapped back to reality. She immediately glared at the source of the sound.
Xie Xiangyi looked innocent.
Facing Tang Jinzhi’s “you’re seducing me again” expression, Xie Xiangyi felt like she understood.
She thought Tang Jinzhi should reflect on why she was so easy to seduce.
“I really didn’t…”
Now, who even knew what she was explaining anymore.
