Kicked Back to a Rich Family by the Real Eldest Daughter - Chapter 21
Chapter 21
Hearing Tang Jinzhi’s definite answer, Xie Xiangyi’s long-standing worry finally completely disappeared.
This was the only thing that made her anxious after getting married.
Even though it seemed that she was the one being more proactive, Xie Xiangyi was still scared.
She had no experience and didn’t know anything.
Although Tang Jinzhi’s initial performance was very reassuring, Xie Xiangyi was still worried that one day Tang Jinzhi would want to sleep with her.
But her worry was useless. It was only a matter of time.
Xie Xiangyi didn’t think she could spend her whole life in bed with Tang Jinzhi and be safe.
She just needed a transitional period and didn’t want to go too fast.
Their eyes met. Tang Jinzhi didn’t sense any displeasure from Xie Xiangyi because of her words.
She also let out a big sigh of relief.
Her thoughts were exactly the same as Xie Xiangyi’s.
She didn’t think she could withstand Xie Xiangyi’s temptation. It was better to nip that idea in the bud right now.
After coaxing Zhang Yueqi back to the room, Tang Jinzhi moved her few belongings into the master bedroom.
She also put her toiletries in the master bathroom, leaving the guest bathroom for Zhang Yueqi.
Tang Jinzhi looked at Xie Xiangyi, who had just finished brushing her teeth. “You should go to sleep. I’m going to take a shower.”
Xie Xiangyi blinked and didn’t move. “I’ve always wanted to ask you a question.”
Tang Jinzhi said a light “ah” to show her confusion.
Xie Xiangyi: “The day before you were hospitalized, you told me that you had found a music teacher and wouldn’t be coming back often.”
“Have you completely given up now?”
Tang Jinzhi’s actions over the past two days had made her attitude very clear.
But Xie Xiangyi still couldn’t believe it.
She knew what Tang Jinzhi was studying and how good she was. She also knew that Tang Jinzhi had gone through a lot of hardships to get a chance to enter the entertainment industry.
But now, she hadn’t mentioned it at all.
She had given up so completely.
Tang Jinzhi thought for a few seconds and decided to answer honestly: “The old Tang Jinzhi was the old Tang Jinzhi. The current Tang Jinzhi is me.”
She had no intention of fooling anyone. At the very least, she didn’t plan to lie to Xie Xiangyi.
Xie Xiangyi wasn’t easy to fool. She would have to live with Xie Xiangyi from now on. If she lied to her, she would have to come up with a lot of empty excuses to explain why she was different from before.
Lying to Xie Xiangyi would be too tiring.
Tang Jinzhi decided to be open and honest, just as Xie Xiangyi had been open and honest in accepting their abrupt relationship.
Xie Xiangyi obviously took Tang Jinzhi’s words as a perfunctory answer. She sighed. “It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it. If you want to get into the industry, I can introduce you to some friends in the business.”
Xie Xiangyi felt that it would be foolish not to use her connections.
She just happened to have them, and Tang Jinzhi just happened to need them.
Tang Jinzhi’s eyes lit up.
“It’s a different industry. I’m not going to join it. I’m telling the truth.”
“But I do like making friends in the industry. It would be even better if they were directors.”
Xie Xiangyi: “…”
And she said she didn’t want to join the industry.
Xie Xiangyi smiled. “I’ll introduce you when I have time.”
Many rich second-generation heirs liked to get into the entertainment industry and entertainment companies. Xie Xiangyi knew quite a few. Although she was busy, she attended many banquets, big and small.
Xie Xiangyi’s eyes flickered: “Actually, your little kid knows even more people.”
Tang Jinzhi was a little confused: “What little kid?”
Xie Xiangyi smiled: “Zhang Yueqi.”
Tang Jinzhi’s lips twitched. What a familiar conversation.
She pushed Xie Xiangyi toward the bed: “Hurry up and go to sleep. You have to work tomorrow morning.”
Xie Xiangyi walked to the bed and sat down. She nodded. “My alarm is set for seven in the morning. I hope it won’t wake you up.”
Tang Jinzhi’s expression was complicated.
“…I’ll never say I’m a workhorse again.”
She didn’t deserve it. She really didn’t.
After hearing that, Xie Xiangyi felt like all her energy was drained. She looked at Tang Jinzhi with a tired expression.
“I have the day off the day after tomorrow.”
Tang Jinzhi sighed with emotion: “Oh, that’s great.”
So they did have days off.
For some reason, when Xie Xiangyi saw Tang Jinzhi sighing with emotion just because she had a day off, she felt like her life was so hard.
“Someone will come to measure us that day. Think about what you’d like to wear, and they’ll bring everything over.”
Tang Jinzhi nodded solemnly. She would definitely do that.
Xie Xiangyi pulled back the blanket and lay down. She paused, hesitated for a few seconds, then said, “I’m going to sleep first. You should go to sleep early after you finish showering. Don’t stay up like yesterday.”
Facing Xie Xiangyi’s unfamiliar concern, Tang Jinzhi nodded and promised, “I’ll go to sleep right after I shower.”
Mainly, she was too tired after watching TV with Zhang Yueqi all afternoon and evening. Her eyes couldn’t take it anymore.
By the time Tang Jinzhi came out of the shower, Xie Xiangyi was already asleep.
Afraid of disturbing Xie Xiangyi, she took the hairdryer to the balcony outside. When she came back after blow-drying her hair, she looked at the time. It was almost one in the morning.
She went to the other side of the bed and lay down. She reached for the switch on the bedside and turned off the light. The room was instantly covered in darkness.
Tang Jinzhi had checked before going to bed. The two of them weren’t too far apart, but they weren’t too close either. They were both lying properly.
Xie Xiangyi was facing away from her…
The night passed in Tang Jinzhi’s active mind.
She dreamed of being hugged in different scenarios.
In reality, the two of them were still well-behaved.
Tang Jinzhi woke up after Xie Xiangyi got up.
After watching Xie Xiangyi go to the bathroom, Tang Jinzhi took a while to come to her senses, then gave herself a big eye-roll in her mind.
What was that dream about?!
When Xie Xiangyi came back from the bathroom, she found Tang Jinzhi staring at the pillow blankly.
She thought for a moment and walked over.
Although she knew Tang Jinzhi was awake, she was still afraid of disturbing her. Xie Xiangyi’s voice was very soft. “You can keep sleeping. I have to go now.”
Tang Jinzhi came to her senses. She nodded her head, which was half-tucked under the blanket.
Seeing her do that with a confused expression, Xie Xiangyi’s eyelashes trembled slightly, and the emotions in her eyes softened uncontrollably.
Xie Xiangyi looked at her for two more seconds, then quickly looked away.
She had to go.
Tang Jinzhi’s head suddenly popped out from under the blanket. Her voice was soft as she reminded her, “Remember to eat breakfast.”
Xie Xiangyi’s heart fluttered. She replied softly, “Got it.”
After watching Xie Xiangyi leave, Tang Jinzhi tucked her head back under the blanket. She was very sleepy. Without the tiring dreams, she wanted to go back to sleep.
At the same time, she admired Xie Xiangyi in her heart. She was working from the moment she woke up until she went to bed. She was amazing.
Tang Jinzhi’s second nap lasted for two hours.
Normally, she would have dragged herself out of bed around noon.
But there was now a hungry Zhang Yueqi in the house.
Tang Jinzhi expressionlessly gave her a family card with a limit of only 600.
“Your job today is to go grocery shopping. I’ve sent you a list of what to buy. They’re all things Xie Xiangyi loves to eat. If you miss one, I’ll have her come back and beat you up.”
Tang Jinzhi smiled. In reality, they were all her favorite foods.
Zhang Yueqi was furious but didn’t dare to say anything.
The person who provided for her was her mother. How could she protest?
She took out her phone and angrily opened her chat with Xie Xiangyi. She sent her a sarcastic message, “Your wife really loves you.”
Xie Xiangyi, who had just finished her rounds, fell into deep thought when she saw the message.
