Kicked Back to a Rich Family by the Real Eldest Daughter - Chapter 22
Chapter 22
Xie Xiangyi had seen this kind of message from Zhang Yueqi yesterday, right in the same chat.
Xie Xiangyi was stunned for a long time. She didn’t dare to think about whether Tang Jinzhi loved her or not.
She figured the two of them must have been talking about something again.
She was a little curious, so she sent Zhang Yueqi a question mark.
At the same time, a message from Tang Jinzhi popped up in her notification bar.
Tang Jinzhi: “Did Dr. Xie eat breakfast?”
Xie Xiangyi smiled and replied: “A little. I just finished my rounds.”
Tang Jinzhi: “You should have a break at noon, right?”
Xie Xiangyi: “What’s wrong?”
Tang Jinzhi: “I’m cooking at home. Send me your break time. I’ll have Assistant Zhang deliver it to you then.”
Xie Xiangyi’s eyes were filled with surprise. Cooking?
The kitchen at home had never been used.
Probably knowing she was confused, Tang Jinzhi’s message came again.
Tang Jinzhi: “I turned on the stove in the kitchen last night and bought all the seasonings. Assistant Zhang has already gone to buy groceries. Don’t worry, I can cook. It’s definitely edible, so hurry up and send me your break time.”
Xie Xiangyi’s eyes were even more surprised to see that she was already fully prepared and confident.
She wasn’t surprised that Tang Jinzhi could cook. She was just surprised that her kitchen would ever be used.
Xie Xiangyi had never thought of having a meal at home that wasn’t takeout.
“Dr. Xie, let’s go back!”
The colleague in front of her, seeing Xie Xiangyi lagging a few steps behind, quickly called out to her.
Xie Xiangyi came back to her senses. She didn’t have time to type, so she sent Tang Jinzhi a voice message. “Twelve o’clock. I’ll go back to eat. No need to have her deliver it.”
Tang Jinzhi: “It’s too much trouble for you to go back and forth. I’ll have her deliver it.”
Xie Xiangyi: “I’ll go back.”
Tang Jinzhi tilted her head and replayed Xie Xiangyi’s voice message.
The tone was non-negotiable.
Okay.
After confirming Xie Xiangyi’s break time, Tang Jinzhi didn’t sit idle. She went into the kitchen to do more research.
There was nothing in the refrigerator. Besides a few bottles of water, all that was left was the leftover dessert from last night.
However, the kitchen was fully equipped with an oven, microwave, and other appliances.
The house had everything it should.
By the time the little assistant came back, it was almost ten o’clock.
Tang Jinzhi took the groceries she had bought in big bags and went into the kitchen to unwrap them. She found many things in there that were not on her shopping list.
Zhang Yueqi was so tired that she was lying on the door frame. “King oyster mushrooms and chives. They’re my favorite. Make them for me.”
Tang Jinzhi didn’t say anything. She flipped through the two large bags of food and nodded in satisfaction.
Zhang Yueqi had also bought some things that she hadn’t thought of.
It seemed that she could confidently hand this job over to Zhang Yueqi in the future.
“You did well. Take a break, and then come and help me prepare the food.”
She put some of the vegetables they would eat tomorrow into the refrigerator. The refrigerator was soon full.
Zhang Yueqi’s eyes widened. She walked over and stared in surprise.
“Where did all this stuff in the fridge come from?”
There was a layer of juice and milk, a layer of carbonated drinks and fruit wine, and a drawer full of eggs.
There were also a few chocolates on the side. Zhang Yueqi’s eyes lit up. It was her favorite kind! The drinks were almost all the ones she had recommended to Tang Jinzhi yesterday!
Aww!
Zhang Yueqi squealed in her heart. She had thought that all the delicious food would be gone once she lost her allowance.
Who would have thought! It was a new world!
Tang Jinzhi looked at her excited little face and smiled instantly. “The supermarket delivered them while you were out.”
Zhang Yueqi’s eyes lit up. She was no longer angry. She was so touched, so she sent Xie Xiangyi another message, “Your wife really loves me!”
Xie Xiangyi: “…”
Xie Xiangyi: “Be a good girl at home and listen to her.”
Zhang Yueqi: “Got it, got it!”
Xie Xiangyi put down her phone, her expression strange. She felt that she and Tang Jinzhi were starting to look more and more like they were raising a child.
It was crazy.
She opened her phone again and looked at the shopping list Zhang Yueqi had sent her. Zhang Yueqi said that the groceries she bought were her favorite.
Xie Xiangyi looked at it again and again. It was true.
But she was very suspicious that they were Tang Jinzhi’s favorite foods. They seemed to like the same dishes.
Xie Xiangyi was a little dazed. She wanted to go home and see.
Although she didn’t know what she wanted to see.
“Dr. Xie, are you really okay?” Li Li passed by Xie Xiangyi, who was lost in thought, and patted her.
Xie Xiangyi came back to her senses. She waved her hand. “I’m fine.”
She explained, “I was looking at my phone.”
Li Li’s expression was complicated. Looking at her phone didn’t block her ears. She had called Xie Xiangyi several times.
“I hope you’re really okay.”
Xie Xiangyi’s lips twitched. “I’m really fine.”
Li Li sighed softly: “Okay. Your junior just said she was looking for you.”
Xie Xiangyi was confused: “Which junior?”
There were so many juniors doing their residency at this hospital.
Li Li gave a light “tsk.” “Your own junior, Dr. Song.”
Xie Xiangyi suddenly understood. They talked a lot. She only remembered that they had the same mentor and almost forgot that Song Xiaoci was also her junior.
Song Xiaoci wasn’t the only one who deliberately called her “senior” at the hospital.
“What does she want with me?”
Song Xiaoci happened to walk over at that moment.
“Nothing. The professor is calling for you. He can send a message, but he just doesn’t. He has to have someone come and call you in person.”
“He’s so annoying. He’s so pretentious. Is he the emperor? Summoning Dr. Xie to an audience?”
Song Xiaoci was about to say more, but Li Li quickly pulled her away in fear.
Li Li: “I’m telling you, can you speak a little softer?”
Song Xiaoci was even angrier: “He scolds me every day. He’s almost made me lose my self-confidence. What’s wrong with me complaining a little?”
Li Li deliberately looked her up and down.
Self-confidence, are you talking about yourself?
Xie Xiangyi looked at Song Xiaoci with a complicated expression: “Are you trying to not graduate?”
Hitting her weak spot, Song Xiaoci deflated. “I’m only brave enough to say this here.”
Li Li chuckled at her. “Don’t you know walls have ears?”
Song Xiaoci pouted. Since she was in the wrong, she didn’t dare to continue arguing with Li Li. She turned her gaze to Xie Xiangyi and smiled, changing the topic: “Senior, shouldn’t you buy us a meal since you’re married?”
She had really thought it was just a rumor before, so she didn’t bother Xie Xiangyi, who was busy with her exams. Now she knew it was true.
Li Li was reminded, “Oh, right, Dr. Xie, where’s my wedding candy?”
Xie Xiangyi looked at the two of them, who had suddenly formed a united front against her, and couldn’t help but laugh good-naturedly.
“I’ll buy you a bag of candy this afternoon. It’s not a good time to make a big fuss and invite everyone to dinner. I’ll send you invitations to my wedding, or you can come to my house to eat when you’re free.”
Li Li nodded. “That’s true. Inviting everyone to a meal now would look like showing off. Some people might get jealous.”
Song Xiaoci looked confused: “Who would be jealous?”
“Don’t worry about it. Go write the patient’s record.” Xie Xiangyi grabbed her phone and was about to leave. She suddenly remembered something and turned around, her gaze lingering on Song Xiaoci’s face.
Song Xiaoci quickly covered her face. “What’s wrong with my face?”
Xie Xiangyi shook her head. “Nothing.”
She just felt that she looked familiar, like she had recently seen someone who looked a lot like Song Xiaoci.
But it must have been someone she didn’t care about.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have forgotten.
