Kicked Back to a Rich Family by the Real Eldest Daughter - Chapter 33
Chapter 33
Tang Jinzhi poked Xie Xiangyi’s back with a dark expression. Didn’t Xie Xiangyi understand? Saying that was like cursing herself to lose her wife!
“Say something auspicious, will you?”
Xie Xiangyi smiled, “Then I wish my wife won’t be kidnapped.”
Tang Jinzhi: “…”
“She’s looking over here!” Tang Jinzhi suddenly said.
Xie Xiangyi slightly raised her eyelids. It wasn’t surprising. She had initially planned to take Tang Jinzhi away immediately, but the other party had already spotted them when they got off the elevator and was currently walking toward them.
Tang Jinzhi was about to retract her head when her gaze suddenly met Sheng Yanzhi’s. Those aggressive eyes startled her.
No joke, Tang Jinzhi felt goosebumps rise all over her body. She immediately pressed her face against Xie Xiangyi’s back, deciding to let Xie Xiangyi face her alone first.
The tactile sensation behind her was obvious. The person who had spent the whole journey saying she wasn’t scared was now completely hiding behind her. Xie Xiangyi smiled internally and tightened her grip on Tang Jinzhi’s hand.
She softened her voice to reassure her, “It’s okay. This is a hospital. She wouldn’t dare do anything.”
Tang Jinzhi was silent for two seconds before saying, “Then you guys probably won’t fight, right?”
Her tone sounded slightly regretful.
Xie Xiangyi turned her head, “You want to see us fight?”
Tang Jinzhi immediately shook her head, “No. For now, I just want to see your cursing side. Let’s forget about fighting for now.”
She hadn’t seen Xie Xiangyi curse yet. She felt Xie Xiangyi probably wasn’t good at it. If she got into an argument with someone else, Xie Xiangyi probably couldn’t win, right?
Xie Xiangyi’s verbal aggression was super weak; she had been provoked into blushing by her several times.
Just as she was thinking this, Tang Jinzhi was attacked.
Xie Xiangyi looked at her crossly, “Forget about fighting? How about I hit you?”
Tang Jinzhi was about to shake her head and say NO, but something occurred to her. A flicker of mischief flashed in her eyes. She put away her smile, suddenly lowered her head in shyness, plucked at Xie Xiangyi’s clothes, and said bashfully with a red face, “Not now. We have to go home for that.”
Sure enough, if you’re thick-skinned enough, you can say anything.
Xie Xiangyi’s cheeks visibly flushed. She clenched her fists, trying her best to calm down. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Now was not the time to be playful with Tang Jinzhi.
“Act normal!”
She was worried for nothing that Tang Jinzhi would be scared. In this situation, she still had the presence of mind to tease her. Tang Jinzhi was scared of nothing!
She didn’t need to be reminded. Tang Jinzhi was already acting normal. In the half-minute they spent joking around, the distant Sheng Yanzhi was already close.
Xie Xiangyi had no intention of engaging with Sheng Yanzhi. She pulled Tang Jinzhi and continued walking forward.
When they were only a few steps away from Sheng Yanzhi, their eyes met. Both showed the same disdain. Sheng Yanzhi’s scorn and anger were more pronounced, while Xie Xiangyi’s disdain was mixed with an added layer of caution.
Sheng Yanzhi’s long hair was slightly curled. A blue women’s suit highlighted her elegance and refinement, but beneath the sophisticated exterior lay a madness that only she knew.
Her gaze lingered on Xie Xiangyi for only a second or two before settling completely on Tang Jinzhi, but the latter deliberately avoided her, making it impossible for Sheng Yanzhi to see her face.
As they passed by, Xie Xiangyi pulled Tang Jinzhi to her other side.
Sheng Yanzhi finally spoke: “Wait.”
Xie Xiangyi directly ignored her words and didn’t stop for a second, only tightening her grip on Tang Jinzhi’s hand.
Tang Jinzhi also pretended not to hear.
She decided to implement the phrase “DO NOT ENGAGE!” thoroughly, without even sparing Sheng Yanzhi a glance.
She wouldn’t speak a single word now.
Besides, she had “amnesia” and didn’t recognize Sheng Yanzhi. Who knew who she was talking to when she said “wait”?
“Tang Jinzhi!” Sheng Yanzhi turned her steps to follow them.
Hearing her call her name, Tang Jinzhi walked even faster, now pulling Xie Xiangyi along.
Sheng Yanzhi laughed out of anger and quickly caught up, “Did you lose your memory?”
Xie Xiangyi stopped, pulling Tang Jinzhi back, finally turned and faced her. Their eyes clashed again.
Tang Jinzhi immediately slipped and hid behind Xie Xiangyi again, burying her head and ignoring everything.
Xie Xiangyi’s voice was slightly cold: “Say what you need to say quickly. We don’t have time to chat with you.”
Sheng Yanzhi scrutinized Xie Xiangyi, “Time? Chat? Xie Xiangyi, how dare you steal my person?”
Sheng Yanzhi’s eyes were full of malice. She never imagined that after only a short period of relaxed surveillance, Tang Jinzhi would be snatched away by the person in front of her.
She deeply regretted it. It wasn’t that she couldn’t capture Tang Jinzhi; it was that she let her go every time she found her. It would have been incredibly easy to obtain a defenseless Tang Jinzhi.
But she didn’t expect the other party to run into Xie Xiangyi’s arms.
Xie Xiangyi had a family behind her that Sheng Yanzhi couldn’t shake.
Sheng Yanzhi suspected she was deliberately using Xie Xiangyi to evade her. She hadn’t intended to push Tang Jinzhi this far. Now she regretted it. She should have taken her back to her territory from the start.
Xie Xiangyi gave a cold laugh, “Steal your person? Please put away your despicable delusion.”
Sheng Yanzhi completely ignored her words, her eyes fixed intently on Tang Jinzhi’s hand gripping Xie Xiangyi’s clothes. She wanted to pull the person out.
Xie Xiangyi’s expression darkened. She covered Tang Jinzhi’s hand with her own, blocking Sheng Yanzhi’s view.
Although she knew reasoning wouldn’t work with the person in front of her, she couldn’t help but mention, “Tang Jinzhi is not your person, and she never will be. She doesn’t belong to anyone. She has always belonged to herself.”
Her intention wasn’t to convince Sheng Yanzhi; she wanted to soothe the turbulent emotions of Tang Jinzhi behind her. She could sense Tang Jinzhi’s anger.
Tang Jinzhi intensely disliked Sheng Yanzhi’s domineering nature. The other party’s arrogance and extreme possessiveness made her uneasy. Her anger stemmed from connecting it to the fake rich daughter’s past experiences.
Even though Tang Jinzhi had felt empathetic many times, she couldn’t help but whisper in her heart, “The child is truly miserable…”
What kind of people surrounded her?
After hearing Xie Xiangyi’s words, Tang Jinzhi nodded the forehead pressed against her back in agreement.
Sheng Yanzhi’s expression didn’t change at all. She had heard these words many times before, all from Tang Jinzhi herself.
Xie Xiangyi remembered something and smiled, “However, she is my wife now.” Her words, unusually, displayed her possessiveness over Tang Jinzhi.
She was her wife. Who did others think they were to covet her?
That single sentence infuriated Sheng Yanzhi.
Xie Xiangyi was provoking her.
Sheng Yanzhi had been unable to calm down since she learned about Tang Jinzhi and Xie Xiangyi’s marriage. Her suppressed emotions had already reached a breaking point, and her entire demeanor signaled an imminent collapse. Her eyes were deep and cold as she swept a glance at Xie Xiangyi, then quickly walked two steps to her side, intending to grab Tang Jinzhi and forcibly take her away.
Tang Jinzhi was startled for a moment, but she dodged aside even faster than Sheng Yanzhi. She looked up at Sheng Yanzhi. She couldn’t ignore her anymore.
Xie Xiangyi’s nerves were also taut, but she only vaguely held out her hand to block her, making sure Sheng Yanzhi couldn’t touch Tang Jinzhi, and then didn’t say anything more. She didn’t intentionally obstruct her.
Tang Jinzhi had mentioned yesterday that she wanted to talk to Sheng Yanzhi.
Tang Jinzhi frowned slightly. She glanced at Xie Xiangyi, then finally turned her attention to Sheng Yanzhi.
She was full of defense, scrutinizing and simultaneously watching Sheng Yanzhi’s movements warily.
Just as she expected Sheng Yanzhi to get angry and say something, Sheng Yanzhi suddenly smiled—not a mocking smile. The chill on her face instantly faded.
What happened?
Tang Jinzhi frowned, growing even more cautious.
Sheng Yanzhi’s demeanor instantly became calm. She was happy.
She understood the look in Tang Jinzhi’s eyes: the usual vigilance, and a strange unfamiliarity she had never seen before, gone was the previous disgust toward her.
Tang Jinzhi really did have amnesia. She was now certain.
Sheng Yanzhi had tried countless methods before to alleviate Tang Jinzhi’s dislike and rejection of her. Every time she remembered Tang Jinzhi’s look, she would be heartbroken; she wasn’t as uncaring as she appeared.
She had tried many ways, all of which failed, even backfiring and making Tang Jinzhi dislike her more.
Sheng Yanzhi softened her tone. She asked Tang Jinzhi in a rare gentle voice, “Did you really lose your memory?”
Her questioning tone carried a clear sense of anxiety. She hoped Tang Jinzhi really had amnesia and didn’t want her to recover her memory.
Tang Jinzhi hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
“I don’t remember you.”
Sheng Yanzhi’s smile widened. In that instant, she had envisioned countless ways to interact with Tang Jinzhi in the future, all from a “normal person’s” perspective.
She was very satisfied with the current situation, extremely satisfied. Tang Jinzhi didn’t dislike her anymore. Although she was still somewhat wary, it was only a little bit.
As for the obstructive Xie Xiangyi, Sheng Yanzhi’s eyes darkened. She didn’t think the still-studying Xie Xiangyi posed any threat. The person herself didn’t warrant her attention. The only hard-to-solve issue was the family behind Xie Xiangyi.
But for Sheng Yanzhi, the most difficult problem had been miraculously solved. It was just a marriage alliance. A divorce wouldn’t matter much. She would find a way to snatch Tang Jinzhi back.
Xie Xiangyi noticed the condescension in Sheng Yanzhi’s eyes. She lifted her eyes calmly. She waited for two seconds and was surprised when she didn’t hear Sheng Yanzhi utter any harsh threats. How odd.
Sheng Yanzhi smiled at Tang Jinzhi, “It’s okay if you don’t remember me. We can get to know each other again.”
Her eagerness was completely undisguised.
Tang Jinzhi was puzzled. This Sheng Yanzhi was indeed abnormal, changing constantly. Her thought process was truly difficult to understand.
Xie Xiangyi saw Tang Jinzhi remain silent and thought she was considering Sheng Yanzhi’s suggestion. She quickly stepped forward to block Tang Jinzhi, “There’s no need. If there’s nothing else, we’ll be leaving now.”
Sheng Yanzhi wouldn’t be polite to Xie Xiangyi. She sneered, “Are you going to control even who she makes friends with?”
Who was restricting whose freedom now?
Xie Xiangyi understood her implied meaning. Although she knew Tang Jinzhi wouldn’t think of her that way, she was still inevitably worried.
Xie Xiangyi pondered for two seconds and countered, “Are you trying to interfere in someone else’s relationship?”
Sheng Yanzhi feigned surprise, “You two have a relationship?”
Then, afraid that Tang Jinzhi behind her would misunderstand, she quickly explained, “I have no intention of interfering in anyone’s relationship. I simply want to reacquaint myself with an old friend.”
Tang Jinzhi secretly sneered internally. A friend who got blacklisted?
Xie Xiangyi was increasingly irritated by the recent remarks about her and Tang Jinzhi having no feelings. Her expression turned grim, making her look unapproachable.
Even the initially dismissive Sheng Yanzhi couldn’t help but look at her twice, but her gaze ultimately gravitated back to Tang Jinzhi.
Tang Jinzhi frowned slightly, “Don’t stare at me like that.”
She felt offended.
Sheng Yanzhi quickly restrained her gaze and looked at Xie Xiangyi.
Tang Jinzhi: “…”
“And don’t stare at my wife either.”
Hearing her call Xie Xiangyi her wife, Sheng Yanzhi’s expression subtly changed. Her already calmed emotions momentarily slipped out of control, but she quickly suppressed them again.
Her face was grim, but the mollified Xie Xiangyi was delighted.
Xie Xiangyi smiled, “How can you be sure we don’t have feelings?”
