Killer Queen (GL) - Chapter 11
The serious business was finished, and the little angel (server) brought over the four bottles of Hennessy. The boy placed the liquor on the glass coffee table, then turned and sat down next to Luo Yu, nestling against her in her arms like a little rabbit, murmuring, “I miss you so much.” This was just a formality, and Luo Yu was used to it, so she didn’t push the boy away.
Yue Ye poured a glass of wine and was about to wrap his arm around Xi Qi’s waist and follow it up with a kiss, but Xi Qi swiftly sidestepped, moving so fast it was impossible to see clearly. Yue Ye didn’t even touch a single strand of her hair.
Xi Qi stood up and said coldly, “If it weren’t for Wu, your neck would have just been crushed by me.”
The murderous aura Xi Qi instantly emitted caused a cold sweat to break out all over Yue Ye’s back. He couldn’t utter a single word. She was indeed worthy of being the cold-blooded female assassin whom even the Luo Family assassins could not defeat. Yue Ye was greatly alarmed, but seeing Xi Qi’s powerful strength, he also felt more confident about their upcoming actions.
“Let’s go,” Xi Qi commanded, turning and leaving without looking back.
Since the Queen had spoken, Luo Yu naturally had to comply. Besides, everything that needed to be said and done was finished, and there was no point in staying here.
Luo Yu got up and followed closely behind Xi Qi.
“The four bottles of liquor were just opened, and not even one glass has been drunk yet,” the boy called out, somewhat disappointed, toward Luo Yu’s retreating back.
Luo Yu quickly paid the bill and gave him a reassuring smile, “The four bottles will be counted as part of your performance tonight. Gotta go, I’ll be back next time.”
As the two figures walked further away, a lonely expression slowly surfaced on the boy’s face.
“Don’t get too involved. You and she are not from the same world. She is the wind—fickle, elusive, and impossible to grasp,” Yue Ye patted the boy’s shoulder and consoled him.
The night air was cool like water. The two walked side by side down the sparsely populated and chilly street.
“You’re into that type?” Xi Qi asked coldly, her tone steady without any fluctuation. The young shota (young boy) was at most fifteen, still a minor.
“That little shota is gentle and cute, and his mouth is sealed tight. I find him quite pleasing to the eye. But,” Luo Yu paused deliberately, stood on her tiptoes, looped her arms around Xi Qi’s neck, and snuggled into her embrace, “I’m actually into your type.”
“Get off me!” Xi Qi said, her face taut as she jokingly scolded her.
The night wind gently blew, lifting Xi Qi’s soft, scattered black hair and letting it fall across Luo Yu’s fair face. The moonlight softly sprinkled over the two of them. The river flowed quietly, reflecting the fragmented and soft moonlight. The peace and serenity of that moment lingered in their minds for many years to come, unable to be forgotten.
The next morning, Luo Yu returned to the Luo Family headquarters.
As soon as she entered the door, she ran into Luo Shisi, who was carrying a tray of tea.
“Young Master is back. The Master is in the study.”
Luo Yu covered her forehead, feeling a headache. Isn’t she busy flying around all day, constantly traveling? Why is she staying home the moment I return?
“Then pretend you didn’t see me. I’ll sneak back to my room.”
Luo Shisi smiled, “Is there anything happening in the Luo Family, high or low, that escapes the Master’s eyes? If you sneak in without a sound like that, the Master will inevitably get angry again.”
Luo Yu made a bitter face, “She gets angry the moment she sees me, and she gets angry if she doesn’t see me. She finds me displeasing no matter what.”
Luo Shisi was amused by the Young Miss’s words, his shoulders trembling, nearly dropping the tea tray he was holding, “It’s only proper for Young Master to go and pay respects since you haven’t been home for half a month.”
Luo Yu knocked on the door, and Luo Han’s cold, commanding voice came from inside the study.
“Come in.”
Luo Shisi carefully placed the tea on the desk, then bowed his head and retreated to the corner of the wall.
“Having so much fun outside, forgetting yourself, you finally remembered to come home,” Luo Han scolded.
Luo Yu bowed her head, feigning the look of a docile little lamb, and secretly winked at Luo Shisi. See? I told you before. She flares up the moment she sees me. It would have been better if I didn’t let her see me and just snuck back to my room.
Luo Shisi suppressed a laugh, burying his head even lower, while also giving Luo Yu a comforting look.
“Where did you spend the night last night?”
Luo Yu felt this question was a bit sudden. Luo Han had never cared about these things before. Last night, Luo Yu’s little tails, Jiu Chu and Shi Chu, followed her to the entrance of ‘Night King’ but turned back when she went to her dorm. Luo Yu and Xi Qi then shook off their tails. Luo Yu suddenly realized. Could Jiu Chu and the others think I deliberately shook them off to book a room with a male host?
Hmph, where did they get that idea? But knowing Luo Yu’s nature, she was too lazy to explain further. She just replied with some disdain, “Didn’t you send people to monitor my every move clearly?” Luo Yu had always resented Luo Han sending people to monitor her, and today she finally found an outlet to vent.
“With your superficial skills, if no one was following you, you would inevitably be kidnapped.” This is protection, not surveillance.
“Forget it,” Luo Yu was also too lazy to say more. Her current strength was far superior to that of Jiu Chu and the others. She didn’t need this extra protection. To her, Jiu Chu and Shi Chu were a burden, hindering her meetings with the ‘July Fifteenth’ members.
“If there’s nothing else, I’m returning to my room,” Luo Yu said with some impatience.
“You are not allowed to go to ‘Night King’ again in the future,” the Queen issued the command.
“Why?” Luo Yu certainly couldn’t agree. That was the place where she met with Yue Ye.
“You are not allowed, and that is final! There is no ‘why’! This is an order, and it must be obeyed!” The Queen does not need a reason to give orders.
This was utterly unreasonable, and Luo Yu also became angry. She wasn’t someone with a good temper either. The docile little lamb from before instantly turned into a wild cat baring its claws, “Stop trying to control me! I’ll do whatever I want. Is that any of your business?!”
“Slap!” A slap landed on Luo Yu’s face. It hurts! She gasped. Although she was used to being disciplined, being hit on the face still hurt to the core.
Luo Han was accustomed to being a superior—always high and mighty, giving orders, and tolerating no disobedience. Any command she issued must be fully obeyed without question or reason, and no one was allowed to challenge her authority.
“I’ll say it again, you are not allowed to go there again! Did you hear me?!” Luo Han commanded, banging her hand on the desk, saying each word clearly, absolutely refusing to hear a “no.” Her eyes were cold and sharp like two daggers.
Luo Yu was furious after receiving the slap. She ignored Luo Han completely, turned her head, and walked toward the door. (Romantic novels rarely feature peaceful or calm encounters/conversations; she and Luo Han were definitely incompatible, their energy fields clashing, and she felt quite wronged. They argue fiercely, and whenever they meet, they end up quarreling. Luo Han would resort to hitting her, but she was always the one who suffered. Thinking of this, Luo Yu… But even with all her courage, Luo Yu dared not physically retaliate against her mother, so in the end, she was always the one who silently took the beating.) “Stop!” Luo Han shouted.
