Killer Queen (GL) - Chapter 12
Luo Yu pretended not to hear, continued walking, and even quickened her steps. I can’t afford to provoke you, but can’t I hide from you? Her hand was already on the doorknob. As soon as she opened it, she could slip out and escape.
A teacup suddenly flew over. Luo Yu instinctively reached out to block it. The tea hit the back of her hand, and the scalding tea splashed out, burning her skin painfully. It was a searing, agonizing pain, and several blisters immediately formed on the back of her hand. The worst part was that the fragments of the teacup cut her skin, and a long gash instantly appeared on the back of her hand, with bl00d slowly seeping out. It was adding frost to snow (making a bad situation worse). Luo Yu’s face turned pale; the back of her hand was swollen, red, and covered with injuries.
“Dare you take one step out of this study, just try it!” Luo Han’s icy voice subtly revealed anger.
Luo Yu gritted her teeth. She hated being threatened and really wanted to slam the door and walk out without looking back. However, she didn’t dare. Ever since she was little, Luo Han’s authority had been immense. She really didn’t have the courage to treat Luo Han’s words as just wind again, or she would be subjected to the whip today.
“Get back here!”
Luo Yu was dejected and returned listlessly.
Luo Han glanced at Luo Yu’s hand, which was broken and bleeding. Her tone softened slightly. “People from places like that are unclean. If you want some, I can send you a few.”
Luo Yu nearly choked on her own saliva. “Send” or “a few”… Uh, as expected of a queen-like figure, her aura is different as soon as she speaks!
Luo Yu was amused and gossiped, “How many have you kept (as lovers)?”
Luo Han’s face sank. She kicked Luo Yu once. Luo Yu flinched in pain, took a step back, and immediately zipped her mouth shut.
Since the queen herself took the initiative to concede and ease the atmosphere, Luo Yu also softened and stopped talking back or striking a discordant note. “I also didn’t take anyone ‘off the stage’ (out of the club). I was just drinking, chatting, and having fun there. I’m still young; I’ll worry about men later.” Goodness, please don’t send her handsome men; she’s not interested in men.
The confrontation that had been on the verge of erupting finally quieted down. Luo Fourteen stood aside, watching with a pounding heart, nearly ready to act as a firefighter to extinguish the flames and mediate the argument, but all the preparations were not put to use.
Luo Yu’s room contained a large bedroom of nearly one hundred square meters, a spacious study, a bathroom with an extra-large bathtub, and a small bar and billiards room. Outside the room, there was also an open-air terrace for drinking tea and admiring the moon. The terrace had winding paths, lush and fragrant flowers and plants, and a sheepdog. All of this was exclusive to Luo Yu alone. To call it a bedroom, it was actually a self-contained suite. Though the sparrow is small, it has all the organs (small but complete).
Luo Yu walked barefoot on the pure white Roman carpet. An entire wall of the room was a floor-to-ceiling window. The soft sunlight gently spilled into the room, offering an unobstructed view outside the window.
Luo Fourteen used cotton and alcohol to disinfect and medicate Luo Yu’s injured hand.
“The master also has good intentions in doing this,” Luo Fourteen said, defending Luo Han while trying to enlighten Luo Yu.
“Good intentions? Isn’t she being too nosy!” Luo Yu didn’t believe her visit to Night King was hindering her in any way.
“Next time, I’ll go secretly, as long as she doesn’t find out.” Luo Yu smirked deviously.
Luo Fourteen was speechless, wearing an expression of disapproval.
“You are not allowed to tell tales. I only told you. If she finds out, it must be because you informed her.” This was absolutely naked/bare threat.
Luo Fourteen forced a smile, having no choice but to compromise. “If you must go, at least wait until next month.”
“Why?” Luo Yu was confused.
Luo Fourteen smiled without speaking, but Luo Yu instantly understood. Perhaps I misunderstood Mother. She wasn’t just finding out now that I frequently visited Night King. She hadn’t said much in the past, but today she uncharacteristically restricted me from going there. And Luo Fourteen’s words were also strange: What does it mean that if I have to go, I must endure until next month? Connecting all these unusual occurrences, there was only one conclusion.
With a flash of inspiration, Luo Yu figured everything out. The conclusion was: next month, the Luo family assassins would be carrying out a mission at Night King. Mother was afraid I would be accidentally injured, which is why she firmly forbade me from going there again. In that case, all the anomalies made sense.
Since Luo Fourteen was aware, he must also be one of the assassins dispatched for this operation. However, the other members and the specific time of the operation remained unknown.
“Young Mistress, what are you thinking about so intently?” Luo Fourteen had already finished applying ointment to Luo Yu’s hand.
Luo Yu really wanted to try to extract information from Luo Fourteen to get more intelligence, but Luo Fourteen’s lips were always very tight. If she asked too many questions, it might arouse his suspicion instead.
Luo Yu had to give up, rubbing her temple/acupoint. “Nothing, I’m just a little tired. You can leave now.”
After Luo Fourteen withdrew, Luo Yu lay on the wicker chair to take a nap. The soft sunlight scattered over her, warm and comfortable, making her reluctant to wake up, wishing she could sleep forever.
Luo Yu truly felt very, very tired. Every step she took was frightening and filled with peril. The power of the “July Fifteenth” was still too weak, and compared to the Luo family, which had vast power and abundant financial resources, they were completely dwarfed. Every time she stole the Luo family’s secrets, it felt extremely difficult. She had to be hyper-vigilant, daring not to say a single wrong word or do a single wrong thing. She was deeply afraid of being discovered by others, having her identity exposed, and leading to unimaginable consequences.
After sleeping for about two hours, a knock on the door woke the person who was soundly asleep on the wicker chair.
The person who entered was Luo Thirteen. Luo Yu rubbed her eyes and stretched lazily.
Luo Thirteen poured the Young Mistress a cup of black tea and placed various pastries on the table.
She had slept until afternoon tea time.
Seeing Luo Thirteen’s familiar face, Luo Yu felt she had a new idea.
Luo Thirteen and Luo Fourteen were well-known in the assassin circles as a ‘golden duo’. Whenever they went on a mission, the two were inseparable and cooperated seamlessly. Therefore, if Luo Fourteen was involved in this operation, Thirteen would definitely be there. Thirteen’s thinking was much simpler, and his mouth was not as tight as Fourteen’s. If she tried to trick information out of him, she had a seventy percent chance of success.
Luo Yu made up her mind and immediately began to act.
“The weather has been really nice lately. How about we go out for a spring outing next month?”
“Next month? I might be a little busy next month.”
Sure enough, just as I expected. Thirteen and Fourteen will go on a mission together next month. Luo Yu thought to herself.
Luo Yu pretended to be disappointed. “Is that so? You can’t spare any time at all?”
Luo Thirteen counted on his fingers. “After the 22nd, I should be free.”
Is that so? Then the operation will probably be on the 21st or 22nd.
“Do you have another mission?” Luo Yu sipped her black tea with a natural expression. The kind of thing that kept an assassin busy was naturally killing. Luo Yu’s words were not abrupt.
“You’d better be careful. Recently, I’ve heard some rumors that there seems to be an organization called July, or July Sixteenth, which sounds very formidable.” Luo Yu continued to play dumb.
“It’s July Fifteenth,” Luo Thirteen corrected. “It’s close enough anyway,” Luo Yu countered self-righteously.
