Killer Queen (GL) - Chapter 14
Luo Yu had wounds on her waist and shoulder. The stab wound on her right shoulder was especially severe, having almost pierced through Luo Yu’s shoulder, causing a large amount of bl00d loss.
“Ugh…” Luo Yu bit through her lip. She was sweating profusely from the pain, and her face was pale. The white bedsheets in the bedroom were stained with fresh bl00d, turning into blossoming plum flowers.
Xi Qi was applying medicine to Luo Yu. The white gauze had just been wrapped around the wound but was immediately soaked red by the seeping bl00d. Xi Qi’s hand rested on Luo Yu’s smooth skin, feeling the thin body trembling with unbearable pain.
Xi Qi let Luo Yu lean on her shoulder and used a towel to wipe the cold sweat from Luo Yu’s forehead. Just now, in an effort to endure the pain, Luo Yu hadn’t noticed how much force she had used. Now she realized that her lower lip had been bitten through, and threads of bl00d were slowly dripping down the corners of her mouth.
The soft moonlight reflected on Luo Yu’s skin, which was as smooth as jade. All her clothes had been removed. The fine moonlight scattered down like pearls, coating her skin with a gentle glow. Next to them was a basin of water. The water had been stained red by the bl00d seeping from the wounds, gently forming rings of crimson ripples. Her dark hair was draped over her left shoulder, flowing down, further contrasting the flawless whiteness of her skin, like beautiful jade. Drops of bl00d hung on her lips, and the crimson of the bl00d made her lips look as alluringly fragrant as cherry blossoms.
As if under a spell, Xi Qi reached out, wiped the drops of bl00d from Luo Yu’s lips, put the bl00d-stained finger to her own lips, and extended her tongue to lick it.
Luo Yu’s body slightly stiffened. She laughed and cursed, “Vixen!” If those men saw Xi Qi’s actions just now, they would probably go crazy for her. Xi Qi’s beauty was like a poppy flower, sometimes cold, sometimes enchanting, yet carrying a hint of dangerous allure that made people sink into depravity.
Who exactly is the enchantress under the moon, captivating the soul?
The atmosphere was just right, but the phone rang disruptively. It was Yue Ye, who was calling urgently.
“The mission failed. The woman’s car had a bomb installed, and it exploded on the highway less than five minutes later.”
Hearing the news, Luo Yu’s heart sank, and a feeling of being fooled welled up. Luo Thirteen and the others had never intended to assassinate the woman on the spot. They had installed a timed explosive in the car beforehand. Their appearance was completely a diversion, making Xi Qi and the others mistakenly believe they were preparing to assassinate the target themselves. Therefore, in this confrontation, Luo Yu and her team had lost from the very beginning, a complete and utter defeat.
Luo Yu suddenly realized: The Luo family has begun to fight back!
No wonder Luo Fourteen didn’t chase the assassination target but instead relentlessly pursued Luo Yu and Xi Qi. The true intention of this mission was actually to capture the “July Fifteenth”! They had already secured the assassination of the target, which is why they wholeheartedly and desperately fought against “July Fifteenth.”
“There is a second piece of bad news.”
Luo Yu smiled bitterly. Let the storm come even more fiercely!
“Little Angel was taken away by the Luo family. He recognizes the three of us. Although he doesn’t know our true identities, under the Luo family’s devilish severe torture, he might unintentionally reveal something.”
“Why did the Luo family take Little Angel?” Luo Yu realized the answer before she even finished her sentence. At the time the bullet flew, it was reasonable for Xi Qi to protect the widow, but it seemed out of place for Luo Yu to protect Little Angel. An assassin should not care about harming innocent people, so the Luo family concluded that Little Angel was somehow involved with the “July Fifteenth” assassins.
“What should we do now?” Luo Yu paced back and forth, feeling a bit frantic and helpless.
Yue Ye’s voice sounded much calmer, just with a little more chill than usual. “Killing him is the simplest solution.” Murdering to silence a witness has always been the safest method.
“But…” Luo Yu hesitated. She had always been very sensitive about killing.
“Falling into the hands of the Luo family means absolutely no chance of survival. Since death is inevitable either way, why don’t we give him a quick end?” Yue Ye’s voice showed no trace of hesitation. This was the most rational way to handle the situation so far.
“I understand. Let me think about it.” Luo Yu turned off her phone and lay on the bed. Perhaps due to excessive bl00d loss, her head seemed to ache even more.
Luo Yu told Xi Qi the intelligence brought by Yue Ye. Xi Qi frowned, thought for a moment, and then said, “You are injured. Stay here obediently. I will handle this alone.” Killing was commonplace for her, and she agreed with Yue Ye’s decision, as it was the most foolproof approach.
“No way, this is a trap! The Luo family is waiting for us to take the bait. The Luo family place is not somewhere you can just enter and leave easily. Now they’ve even increased their security. If you rashly break in now, you’ll be committing suicide!” Luo Yu objected. There were countless assassins inside and outside the Luo family. Even with Xi Qi’s formidable skills, it would be difficult for her to escape unharmed.
“Then what should we do? We can’t just ignore this.” Xi Qi certainly understood that killing a witness in the Luo family, where assassins gathered, was tantamount to a pipe dream. The probability of success was minuscule.
“I can move freely within the Luo family. I will handle this matter.” Luo Yu opened the wardrobe. In order to conceal her wounds and prevent bl00d from seeping out and leaving clues, she deliberately chose a pure black outfit.
“You just got injured.”
“It’s just a small injury, nothing serious.” Luo Yu was indifferent. Anyway, she had been treating injuries and bleeding as commonplace since she was a child, getting severely disciplined and ‘fixed up’ by Luo Han every two or three months.
“Are you sure you can bring yourself to do it?” Luo Yu disliked killing; Xi Qi was well aware of this.
“I’ll try my best.” She indeed hated getting her hands bloody, but now that Xi Qi’s life was threatened, she couldn’t be blamed for being ruthless.
“Be careful in everything.” Xi Qi did not try to stop her. Given Luo Yu’s stubborn temperament, no one could stop her once she set her mind on something.
The twilight of the night swallowed Luo Yu’s slender body. A faint scent of bl00d lingered in the room. Xi Qi gazed at the full moon in the sky. The moonlight gently spilled onto the ground, shattering into pieces.
Tonight was definitely going to be another sleepless night.
The Luo family’s Hall of Punishment, a hell specially designed for interrogating prisoners and punishing traitors.
Dark, damp, mottled walls, flickering clumps of ghostly flames, the strong, rusty smell of bl00d, the incessant sound of dripping water, and a narrow staircase that seemed endless.
Luo Yu descended the steps one by one, walking into the Luo family’s basement. Before her eyes were dim yellow candlelight. Moss grew on the walls, and the airtight, enclosed environment emitted a foul, sickening odor.
Luo Yu pinched her nose, cautiously walking down, and down. The long staircase seemed to have no end, like a path leading straight to the depths of hell.
The cramped space was extremely suffocating. Some places were so narrow that she could only pass sideways. A subtle unease was evident between Luo Yu’s eyebrows. She turned to look behind her; the small door she entered through had gradually blurred and was hard to see clearly.
“Ah—” A sharp scream from Luo Yu echoed through the long passage. Wave after wave of intermittent echoes reverberated.
When she turned around just now, she didn’t notice where she was stepping, resulting in her foot missing a step. She tumbled down the stairs until she hit the thick wall at the end of the stairs, finally coming to a stop.
“Damn it!” Luo Yu cursed in a low voice. The wounds on her shoulder and waist had reopened, and a long gash had also appeared on her arm. Each step was only one-third the width of a foot and became narrower the further down she went, making it difficult to find a foothold. A slight lapse in concentration and she would miss a step and tumble down.
Luo Yu suspected that she had been unlucky lately and was under a bad omen, constantly getting injured and bleeding, even falling down stairs. She was truly out of luck.
The end of the stairs was the Luo family’s interrogation room. Two guards, Xing Wu (刑五) and Xing Liu (刑å…), stood outside the interrogation room.
“Young Master.” The two knelt on one knee to salute.
“Open the door, I need to go in,” Luo Yu commanded.
“This…” The two exchanged a look and hesitated. “The Master instructed that absolutely no one else is allowed to enter before she returns.”
“Am I ‘anyone else’?! Get out of my way!” If you delay my business, I’ll make you pay later! Luo Yu roared, putting on the air of the Young Master.
“But…” The two were in a difficult position. The Young Master was not to be trifled with, but the Master’s command was even more inviolable!
“Don’t worry. If Mother holds you accountable, won’t I take the blame? I’ll be in and out in a moment.” Luo Yu softened her voice and her tone. This was a strategy of first delivering a blow, then offering a treat, using both carrot and stick.
Xing Wu and Xing Liu couldn’t stop her and had no choice but to let Luo Yu in.
The large door opened with a heavy sound and closed just as heavily. The huge, dull noise brought with it a profound sense of oppression.
Long and short, thick and thin whips hung on the wall. Next to them was a burning red branding iron, hissing with steam. Little Angel’s hands were bound by iron chains, hoisting him high up on the torture rack. His feet could not touch the ground, and the entire weight of his body was borne by his slender hands. The skin on his fine, white wrists had been rubbed raw by the iron chains, and bl00d flowed down his arms, dripping onto his fair collarbone.
A wooden club lay by his feet. The thick club was as thick as an adult’s arm and even had iron spikes embedded in it. The spikes were stained with bl00d, mixed with dust and dirt from the floor.
Luo Yu looked at Little Angel’s body. Sure enough, there were bl00d holes all over him, with bl00d flowing out of the punctures. Luo Yu covered her mouth, letting out an irrepressible scream. Little Angel, who had been half-dead and unconscious, slowly woke up. Seeing the familiar face, he even managed to force a smile.
But immediately afterward, Little Angel’s expression turned to horror. “You… were you caught by them too?”
Speaking too quickly, Little Angel began to cough violently and actually spat out a few mouthfuls of bl00d. The vivid red mixed with the dark ground was glaring and terrifying.
“Don’t say anything, I’m fine.” Luo Yu felt ashamed to face Little Angel. He was in this state, yet he was still so worried about her just now. If he knew that she was the Young Master of the devils who tormented him so severely, what would he think? If he knew that she was the culprit who had led him to this plight, how much would he hate her? Luo Yu regretted it a little. If she hadn’t rashly intervened at the time, Little Angel might not have been shot, and then the Luo family wouldn’t have suspected him, and things would never have escalated to such a serious degree.
