Killer Queen (GL) - Chapter 25
The air was filled with the smell of disinfectant, along with a faint, barely noticeable scent of bl00d. The surroundings were pure white, without any trace of miscellaneous colors. The striking red on the bed sheets was particularly glaring.
It was a private hospital, a luxurious single suite. Outside the window was a light blue lake, with pink butterflies fluttering among the flowers.
“Why is she still not awake?” Luo Han stroked Luo Yu’s pale face, frowned, and glanced at the doctor standing upright beside her.
The doctor was a middle-aged man in his forties. A sharp gaze from Luo Han made him feel a chill throughout his body and difficulty breathing. The middle-aged man took out a tissue and wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, his voice slightly stammering, “Ex…excessive bl00d loss. We just…just stopped the bleeding. I’m afraid she…she needs another bl00d transfusion.”
After speaking, the man seemed exhausted and dared not look at Luo Han’s expression again. He never usually stammered when speaking; he didn’t know what was wrong today. The man pulled out another tissue, as more sweat beaded on his forehead.
Luo Han rolled up her sleeve, her brow showing faint signs of fatigue and impatience. “What are you dawdling for? Hurry up and give her a transfusion!”
The man was so startled by Luo Han’s reprimand that he almost lost his footing and knelt on the ground. His hand trembled so violently as he wiped the sweat that he couldn’t even dry the cold sweat from his forehead after several attempts. “B-b-but…” The man stammered so much that he couldn’t complete a single sentence.
“Master, you’ve already had two bl00d transfusions today. If you continue, your body might not be able to bear it,” Luo Yi bent down and spoke the words the man couldn’t utter.
“It’s fine. During the fight back then, I had three knives and six holes, and survived after losing so much bl00d. It’s not like young people nowadays, who are so delicate,” Luo Han waved her hand dismissively, signaling the doctor to continue the transfusion for Luo Yu.
If Luo Yu were conscious now and heard that, she would definitely be furious enough to vomit bl00d. She was delicate? Where was she delicate? Her injuries were hardly less severe than “three knives and six holes”!
When Luo Yu woke up, there were only two young nurses by her side. Luo Yu opened her hazy eyes and looked around, not finding Luo Han’s figure.
She felt a slight chill in her heart; her mother didn’t seem to care at all despite her severe injuries. Luo Yu felt her throat was very dry and couldn’t even speak.
About two hours later, Luo Han pushed the door open and entered.
“How is she?”
“The young mistress is awake,” the two young nurses lowered their heads and carefully backed out of the room.
Luo Yu was propped up on the bed with pillows. Seeing Luo Han enter, her eyes brightened slightly.
Unexpectedly, Luo Han’s expression suddenly darkened, and she scolded, “Useless! The dignified young mistress of the Luo family, actually captured by someone from Chiying. You’ve completely disgraced me!”
Luo Yu moved her lips, but ultimately said nothing. The bright sparkle in her eyes instantly dimmed, and her eye sockets turned slightly red. Luo Yu felt very wronged and disheartened. The moment she woke up, her mother didn’t ask if she was thirsty or in pain. The first thing she did was launch into a fierce reprimand.
Perhaps in her mother’s heart, the most important thing was the reputation of the Luo family and her own face.
Luo Yu retorted petulantly, “If you hadn’t ruthlessly kicked me out of the house, would I have been kidnapped by people from Chiying?” If she hadn’t been severely injured, Nan Qi wouldn’t have been able to catch her so easily!
“If you think I’ve disgraced you, then just don’t save me! What does my life or death have to do with you? If I die, it’s all over, and everyone is clean!” An injured person’s temper is particularly volatile. Luo Yu’s head heated up, and without thinking, she spilled all the resentment in her heart. With every word she spoke, Luo Han’s face grew a shade darker. By the time Luo Yu finally finished, Luo Han was finally provoked into a rage.
A slap landed on Luo Yu’s face, yanking out the IV drip tube inserted into Luo Yu’s hand, and then she was roughly dragged to the floor. Luo Yu cried out in pain, “Aiyo,” and then endured the agony, gritting her teeth, refusing to make another sound.
Luo Yu fell heavily off the bed. The cold floor tiles stimulated her knife wounds, making her tremble with pain. Luo Yu used her last ounce of strength to desperately resist, trying to break free from Luo Han’s arm, but it was futile. Luo Han’s arm was like iron, preventing her from moving even an inch, making escape impossible.
In the struggle, Luo Yu bumped into a nearby bookshelf. Heavy books tumbled down, hitting her already scarred body, some even striking her head hard.
Luo Yu was in pain, angry, and wronged, a complete wreck.
Low sobs broke out, and tears streamed down. Luo Yu hugged her arms, buried her head in her knees, and cried, shaking uncontrollably, unable even to catch her breath.
Seeing Luo Yu’s wronged and pathetic appearance, Luo Han’s anger subsided significantly. She lightly admonished, “Wipe your tears! Stop crying! You were just hurt by a few books, what’s there to cry about!”
A young nurse stood outside the door. Seeing the chaos in the room, she timidly lowered her head, hands tightly clasped, and quietly said something.
“Speak up! Do you not want to speak anymore in the future?” Luo Han was frustrated and took out her anger on someone else.
The young nurse was so terrified that her legs gave way, and she had to lean against the wall to support herself. Her voice trembled violently, and she didn’t dare to look up. “I’m here to clean the young mistress’s wounds and prepare the medication for later…”
Luo Yu let out a soft chuckle. Seeing others shivering with fear and nearly fainting from Luo Han, she felt a sense of schadenfreude. So, she wasn’t the only one suffering.
Luo Han glared at Luo Yu, and Luo Yu immediately shut up and lowered her head. Hey, don’t turn your anger towards me.
“Get out! You don’t need to clean. Just prepare the medicine,” the Queen commanded with a straight face.
The young nurse was eager to retreat. She gently closed the door and cautiously scurried away.
Luo Han carried Luo Yu horizontally into the bathroom. The hospital bed was only a few steps from the bathroom. Luo Yu comfortably nestled in Luo Han’s arms, finding it much warmer and more comfortable than the pillow.
Both seemed to have forgotten the fierce argument they just had. Luo Yu also wisely kept quiet, resting quietly on Luo Han’s shoulder. Neither spoke, and the atmosphere softened. Luo Yu was severely injured this time, and Luo Han didn’t want to lecture her at this moment.
The bathtub was filled with water, but even though it was cold, the water was icy and penetrated to the bone marrow.
The bl00d-stained cloak was tossed aside. As Luo Yu’s toes touched the cold water, she shivered. In such cold weather, with her wounds hurting so badly, being immersed in cold water was sheer torture.
Luo Yu desperately clung to Luo Han’s collar, unwilling to be thrown into the cold water, pathetically huddling in Luo Han’s warm embrace. She wanted hot water. Where was the hot water?
Luo Han frowned, pried Luo Yu’s fingers open, and directly threw her into the water. Luo Yu gasped, inhaling a mouthful of water. The cold water instantly enveloped her entire body, and her wounds, now wet, hurt even more severely. Luo Yu’s teeth chattered as she looked up, just about to stand up and escape the freezing water. Luo Han, without a word, simply reached out and pressed Luo Yu down into the cold water again.
“S…so cold,” Luo Yu complained, dearly missing her warm blankets.
“Endure it for me!” Seeing Luo Han’s impatient expression, Luo Yu didn’t dare to say more.
Hot water would make the wounds bleed again. Although cold water was chilling, it helped stop the bleeding. Luo Yu’s wounds were fresh and hadn’t scabbed yet, so hot water was naturally unsuitable for cleaning.
“It hurts too much to move, hiss—” Luo Yu tilted her head, her tone carrying a hint of a plea. With such intense pain, surely she couldn’t be expected to clean her own wounds? Moreover, she couldn’t reach the wounds on her back herself.
Luo Han didn’t even spare Luo Yu a glance. She simply rolled up her sleeves and put her hands into the icy water.
In this lifetime, most people served Luo Han, and the times Luo Han personally served others were very few. Luo Yu closed her eyes, feeling justifiably entitled to enjoy the Queen’s personal service.
Luo Han touched the skin on Luo Yu’s waist that had been burned by the branding iron. Her eyes darkened slightly, and her expression was unclear, lost in thought.
“Ah—be gentler,” Luo Yu cried out in pain, flinching and splashing water towards Luo Han. Luo Han quickly averted her body, avoiding being drenched by the splashes.
Luo Yu turned her head and felt that Luo Han’s face looked like dark, heavy storm clouds, as if a thunderstorm was imminent. She was completely confused, not knowing how she had provoked her again.
“The people from Chiying, they certainly hit hard,” the tone was neutral, making it impossible to discern Luo Han’s emotions.
Luo Yu gave a wry smile, “It was a lunatic woman who did it, and she called it stopping the bleeding.”
“That’s not wrong,” Luo Han murmured. Back then, when Luo Han suffered the “three knives and six holes,” the bleeding was uncontrollable. She also used a branding iron to cauterize the wounds to stop the bleeding. At that time, Luo Han was alone, without any help, and endured the extreme pain to do it herself from start to finish.
Luo Yu choked on the cold water and coughed a few times. Hey, hey, she should at least righteously condemn those perverts a few times. How could she so calmly and indifferently agree with such inhumane barbarity?
Luo Yu muttered to herself in her mind, also to distract herself, as the pain all over her body was intense, and Luo Han’s technique for cleaning the wounds couldn’t be called gentle. Luo Yu dared not complain and could only endure the agony in misery.
Luo Han made her assume a kneeling-and-crawling posture. Her fingers gently washed the welts of bl00d on her buttocks. The whip marks were stained with mud, dust, and mixed bl00d, and the wounds were somewhat swollen and blackened.
“Does it hurt?” Seeing the cold sweat on Luo Yu’s little face, the Queen finally asked a concerned question.
“Nonsense! You didn’t show any heartache when you were hitting me, and now you’re asking me insincerely if it hurts!” Luo Yu complained irritably. She had hit her so hard back then, of course, it hurt!
Luo Han firmly slapped her buttocks twice. Luo Yu cried out in pain twice. “I don’t think I hit you hard enough. The next time you do something messy like this, see if I don’t whip you until you can’t speak a single word!” It was a stark threat. Although Luo Yu was disdainful in her heart, she didn’t talk back again. She obediently remained submerged in the cold water, allowing the Queen to clean and manipulate her.
