Killer Queen (GL) - Chapter 29
When Luo Han entered, Luo Yu was happily unwrapping gifts in the hospital bed. Seeing Luo Han come in, she quickly pushed the gifts aside and discreetly hid the miniature pistol that Xi Qi had given her under her pillow.
Luo Han was such a keen person; Luo Yu’s little actions could not escape her eyes, but she couldn’t be bothered with what others had given Luo Yu. After all, everyone had secrets, and she wasn’t so unreasonable as to forbid Luo Yu from having her own private space.
If Luo Han knew Luo Yu’s biggest secret, the truth that had been covered up all this time, and who the real mastermind behind July 15th was, she probably wouldn’t think this way.
Luo Yu took a dagger and peeled an apple. The peel stuck to the flesh, and with a gentle pull, the skin came off in a continuous circle, peeled extremely neatly and aesthetically.
Luo Yu presented it to Luo Han as if offering a treasure, just like a puppy wagging its tail desperately to please its owner returning home.
When others came to visit the sick, the visitor would peel fruit for the patient. Now, with Luo Han, the direction was reversed: it was the patient, Luo Yu, who was eagerly and flatteringly peeling an apple for Luo Han to eat.
After all, the opportunity for the Queen to serve was rare, and now that Luo Yu was mostly recovered from her injuries, how could Luo Han continue to pamper her? While being served by the Queen was impossible, serving the Queen was quite nice too.
Luo Han had rushed directly to the hospital after getting off the plane, dusty from travel. Now she was a bit thirsty, and the apple was fresh and crisp, perfect for quenching her thirst.
Perhaps it was because she was very thirsty, or perhaps because this apple was peeled by Luo Yu herself, but Luo Han felt the fruit tasted better than usual.
“Who was that girl who just left, wearing a black trench coat, jeans, and long black hair?” Luo Han asked casually.
“My roommate. We live in the same dorm.” The two Queens finally met. Luo Yu wondered if there had been any intense friction.
“She doesn’t look like an ordinary college student,” Luo Han scrutinized Luo Yu’s expression.
Luo Yu’s heart skipped a beat, but her expression remained normal. She said half-jokingly, “Of course, she’s not ordinary. She’s our campus beauty. A while ago, two guys even got into a fight over her outside the cafeteria.”
“Is that so?” Luo Han mused. “She had a samurai sword hidden under her trench coat.”
Luo Yu almost choked on her own saliva. Would an ordinary girl carry a samurai sword with her? She probably wouldn’t even carry a dagger. Since the samurai sword was hidden in the trench coat, how did Luo Han discover it? She herself hadn’t noticed anything suspicious at all before and had been wondering why Xi Qi had gone out without any weapons.
“That, uh,” Luo Yu racked her brain for an excuse to prevent Luo Han from suspecting Xi Qi. “She joined our school’s cosplay club. That samurai sword is a prop. She was going out to shoot an outdoor scene at noon.”
Luo Yu didn’t know if Luo Han believed this explanation, but Luo Han didn’t bring up the topic of Xi Qi again, and Luo Yu was wise enough not to mention her either.
A few days later, someone Luo Yu thought had died appeared alive and well before her.
Luo Thirteen came to visit Luo Yu, holding a bouquet of pink lilies. Seeing Luo Thirteen safe and sound, Luo Yu was extremely happy, and the huge stone pressing on her chest finally dropped.
At the time, Xi Qi’s dagger had pierced Luo Thirteen’s heart, and Luo Fourteen was preoccupied with chasing her, so Luo Thirteen wasn’t rushed to the hospital immediately. Thus, Luo Yu had thought Luo Thirteen was doomed and had been sad about it for a long time. She never expected him to be so lucky; he survived a stab from Xi Qi.
“Are your injuries healed?” When people are happy, their minds often short-circuit.
Luo Thirteen sat on the stool and poured Luo Yu a cup of hot water, looking quite surprised. “How did Young Mistress know I was injured?” His severe injury was considered classified information and had not been publicly announced.
Luo Yu knew, of course. At the Night King venue, he fought with Xi Qi, and Luo Yu exchanged blows with Luo Fourteen nearby. Luo Yu had personally seen Xi Qi stab the dagger into Luo Thirteen’s heart, with bl00d gushing out, staining a large area of the marble floor.
Luo Yu had said something she shouldn’t have. These things, she shouldn’t have known.
“Didn’t we agree to go out for a spring outing before? But you didn’t show up, and you had told me you were going on a mission to fight against July 16th. So I guessed you couldn’t keep the appointment because you were injured.” Luo Thirteen was not very suspicious and trusted Luo Yu implicitly, so Luo Yu casually spun a lie to cover up her earlier mistake.
Once a person starts to lie, they are forced to weave one lie after another to cover the truth. However, too many lies will inevitably fall apart, reaching a day when no amount of excuses can hide the truth.
“It was July 15th,” Luo Thirteen smiled. The Young Mistress had previously mistaken July 15th for July 16th, which was months ago. At that time, he was severely injured, bleeding profusely, and thought he was going to die. As a killer, life and death were routine and unsurprising, but at the moment of death, all he could think about was his date with the Young Mistress. He hadn’t had time to keep the appointment, so how could he just die like that?
“Were you badly hurt?” Luo Yu asked with concern.
“The opponent missed. They stabbed half an inch off, not directly in the heart. I can say I got my life back,” Luo Thirteen smiled carelessly. Severe injury was already commonplace. His life had never been valuable or important.
With Xi Qi’s skill, how could she possibly miss the mark? Therefore, the only reason Luo Thirteen survived was that Xi Qi showed mercy and spared his life. Before the mission, Luo Yu had specifically instructed Xi Qi not to kill, because the opponent was her childhood friend. Luo Yu had repeatedly emphasized it, which made Xi Qi extremely impatient.
Luo Yu felt a small warmth in her heart. Xi Qi had kept her words in mind and hadn’t forgotten them even at a crucial and dangerous moment.
“Are you okay? Do your wounds still hurt?” Hearing Luo Thirteen’s words, Luo Yu covered her mouth, gasped, and pretended to be foolishly weak.
Luo Thirteen saw Luo Yu looking startled and quickly comforted her, “It’s fine. It’s been so many months, and I’ve fully recovered.”
To amuse the Young Mistress, Luo Thirteen performed an entertainment trick. Luo Thirteen tossed the apple into the air, then quickly drew his knife and twirled it in the air. That clever, nimble hand, unique to a killer, was dancing, elegant and vivid.
Before Luo Yu could clearly see Luo Thirteen’s movements, an apple was already neatly peeled, and the fruit landed perfectly in Luo Thirteen’s palm.
Luo Yu clapped her hands. This was not just peeling fruit; it was a display of his versatile and agile knife skills!
Luo Yu genuinely admired him. Although she had hidden some of her own strength and pretended to be an ostrich in the Luo family, even if she exerted her true ability, there was still a considerable gap compared to Luo Thirteen and Luo Fourteen.
“Miss, rest assured, the Master will not let them go for daring to kidnap you,” Luo Thirteen paused before continuing, “I will also take revenge for the Young Mistress and leave no one alive!”
It seemed Luo Han had made up her mind to break ties and declare war on Chiying. Luo Yu smiled. It was finally worth her efforts: self-mutilating with two knife wounds and shedding a huge pool of bl00d.
“When are we making a move?” Luo Yu probed. If she had asked Luo Fourteen or Luo Yi this question, they would definitely have remained tight-lipped and not revealed a single word. But Luo Thirteen…
“Young Mistress, leaking classified information can get me shot by the Master. I wouldn’t dare speak recklessly,” Luo Thirteen smiled.
Luo Yu raised an eyebrow. After not seeing him for a few months, had Luo Thirteen become smarter? No way…
“Young Mistress, focus on recovering. A month from now, the killers from our Luo family headquarters will be taking a cruise trip. It will be a perfect opportunity for you to relax.”
Luo Yu desperately tried to suppress the urge to burst into laughter. Luo Thirteen’s lying and deceptive skills were truly subpar. Dozens of killers grandly going on a cruise trip to watch the sunrise at sea? That was too ridiculous.
However, Luo Yu understood. A month later, the Luo family would officially declare war on Chiying on the cruise ship.
The Luo family was preparing to act!
Currently, Chiying was completely unaware and unprepared, so this intelligence was extremely important. If it were leaked, allowing Chiying’s assassins to be prepared, it would be extremely detrimental to the Luo family.
Alas, Luo Yu sighed inwardly. Luo Thirteen’s mouth was really not very tight.
A month later.
The sky was clear and cloudless; it was a good day for travel.
Since no one had told Luo Yu the truth about this trip, Luo Yu pretended not to know and treated it as an ordinary trip for sightseeing and relaxation.
Luo Yu packed many, many things: over a dozen outfits, more than ten pairs of high heels, sunscreen, a camera, a large pile of snacks, and all sorts of miscellaneous items. Since she didn’t have to carry the luggage herself, it was best to bring as much as possible, just in case.
Luo Han, waiting impatiently in the downstairs living room, saw Luo Yu finally appear with her packed luggage and said with displeasure, “Why are you bringing so much stuff?”
“Aren’t we going on a trip? Of course, I need to bring a lot of luggage,” Luo Yu looked around and asked in confusion, “Why haven’t any of you brought any luggage?”
Luo Han ignored her and strode directly out the door. The Master hadn’t spoken, so the other assassins didn’t dare to say anything and simply looked down at the ground, pretending to be mute.
Luo Thirteen stood by, secretly sighing. They were going to kill people this time. How could they bring cumbersome things like too much luggage? This mission was extremely important; only success was allowed, not failure. Everyone was on high alert and extremely cautious, yet the Young Mistress alone treated this sea voyage as a leisure trip.
More than a dozen cars, all pure black, were parked outside the Luo family’s gate, glittering like black obsidian under the sunlight.
In the middle was a Lamborghini convertible sports car, with five SUVs leading the way and five more bringing up the rear, protecting the safety of the middle vehicle.
A group of assassins, dressed in suits and ties, stood lined up on both sides. Luo Yi quickly stepped forward, opened the car door, bowed low, and invited the Queen to board the car.
Today, Luo Yu was wearing a sky-blue, short, off-the-shoulder dress, with her soft, smooth black hair draped over her shoulders. A large area of her shoulder was exposed, looking even whiter and more delicate against the backdrop of her black hair.
Naturally, she wanted to dress beautifully for the trip, but everyone else, including Luo Han, was dressed in clean, sharp black attire. Luo Yu looked out of place among the group of black crows. Luo Yu was depressed. If this was called a trip, who would believe it?
Before Luo Han got into the car, no one else dared to sit down. The group of assassins stood straight, waiting for the Queen to board.
As soon as Luo Han got into the car, Luo Yu eagerly followed right behind her and slipped inside.
Luo Han frowned and lightly scolded, “Get out! Sit in the car behind.” Luo Han had a reason for this. If an enemy attacked or planted explosives, and the car exploded, they would both die, as this car was too conspicuous, and there were many people who wanted to kill her.
“No, I love this sports car. Can’t you let me sit and enjoy it if you won’t give it to me?” Luo Yu refused to budge.
“Get out!” Luo Han’s face darkened. Luo Yu grabbed Luo Han’s arm and shook it back and forth, pouting, “We’re going out happily for a trip. Why are you so angry? Didn’t Luo Yi have people thoroughly check everything? There won’t be any problems.”
