Lady By The Pillow - Chapter 73
Chapter 73: Take Her (Part 1)
“Ah Qing, can I kiss you?”
“Take me home.”
Wei Jiuyi thought her ears were playing tricks on her, just like that drunken night long ago when she had a phone call with Shi Qing and heard her voice as a hallucination.
But when her gaze met the hazy, wine-soaked eyes, she nodded as if possessed.
Lu Shanshan found the two of them and said she wanted to film some behind-the-scenes footage to add to the birthday video that night. When she heard that Wei Jiuyi was taking Shi Qing home, her eyes lit up with excitement.
“Start rolling! Quick, start rolling!”
The camera zoomed in. Wei Jiuyi waved at the lens, followed by Shi Qing, who was leaning her head to the side and smiling, a strand of hair falling perfectly on the side of her face.
Lu Shanshan’s voice-over came on, asking them, “What are you going to do next, Teacher Wei?”
Wei Jiuyi answered truthfully, “Teacher Shi is a little drunk, so I’m about to take her home.”
Lu Shanshan said, “Oh, right. Teacher Shi doesn’t just look a little tipsy; her neck is all red, haha.”
Shi Qing was still conscious, but her eyes were slightly glazed over, and her smile was captivating. “I get flushed easily; I actually didn’t drink that much.”
Wei Jiuyi pulled a face and stated matter-of-factly, “It wasn’t a small amount.”
Lu Shanshan continued to ask, “When are you planning to leave? Should I call a car for you?”
Wei Jiuyi waved her hand, “It’s fine; I already got a ride. It’ll be here soon.”
Lu Shanshan made a graceful exit, “Okay, then I won’t bother you two.”
That night, this clip was quickly edited into the birthday vlog and was immediately picked up by the CP fans, who started their annual new year’s celebration on the fan forum.
【@ScreamerNo.1: Ahhh, save me, Sister looks so charming when she’s drunk; I can’t handle it! 97, how can you stand it! Kiss her! Grab her! Do this and that to her!】
【@DetectiveKeBei: Can the two of you please tell me, Shi Qing has an assistant, and Wei Jiuyi has an assistant. You could’ve had Shi Qing’s assistant take her back, or your own assistant take her back. Why did both assistants happen to disappear at this exact moment, forcing you to take her back? What’s your relationship? Huh? Huh? Huh?】
【@HahahaNationalFirst-ClassAthlete: Hahaha, look at how still the leopard is sitting, just like Tang Monk in front of the Queen of the Women’s Kingdom. Inside, she’s a mess, but on the outside, she’s trying to look straight ahead.】
【@97TimeMarriageLicenseProcessor: Sister’s eyes are absolutely dripping with affection! Puppy, turn your head and look at her! Just look at her! I don’t believe your eyes are empty!】
—Of course, her eyes weren’t empty.
…
“Everyone, please double-check your identity cards; the next round is about to begin.”
Fang Fei, who was the Game Master, stood in front of the round table, presiding over the second night of the werewolf game. But after everyone closed their eyes, Wan Xin, who had been voted out on the first day, got up and left.
“Hey, Wan Xin, where are you going?”
“Oh, my stomach hurts. I’m going to the bathroom.”
When Zhang Yulan and Dong Ya, who were closing their eyes, heard this, their hearts skipped a beat. Everyone knew that Wei Jiuyi had just taken Shi Qing home. Dong Ya had to drag Wan Xin to the table game because she was afraid Wan Xin would cause trouble, but Wan Xin had been voted out after a clumsy speech.
“Werewolves, please open your eyes.”
Fang Fei was completely oblivious to the drama between them and seriously played the role of the Game Master. “Please choose your target to kill.”
Zhang Yulan, a werewolf, was so anxious she made a quick decision and led the werewolf team to kill Dong Ya.
After the seer and other divine roles had their turns, the next day soon arrived.
“Day has broken; please open your eyes. The person who died last night was Dong Ya. There is no last will.” Fang Fei collected Dong Ya’s identity card.
Dong Ya shot up, forcing a fake smile. “Well, my stomach also feels a little uncomfortable. I’ll go to the bathroom now, okay!”
With that, she scurried away, and Fang Fei looked at her suspiciously. “Why does everyone have a stomachache? Did they eat something bad?”
She didn’t know that the most tense and exciting “catching in the act” operation in the world was about to unfold.
Inside a house in the northwest corner of the estate, the passion ignited by alcohol burned in the dark of night.
The security door was almost kicked open.
The two of them embraced each other as soon as they entered the hallway without even changing their shoes, accidentally hitting the switch for the hallway light.
Heavy breathing sounded like snakes fighting in the dark. The scent of wine was quickly heated in the scorching air. The vaporized air currents flowed into their eyes, igniting a raging fire.
In this blazing fire, Wei Jiuyi pressed her forehead against Shi Qing’s, her eyes desperately trying to see the flushed skin on her neckline. “Ah Qing, you’re driving me crazy.”
Shi Qing stared back at her with the eyes of a wolf, her eyes tinged with red. “You asked for it.”
She had practically stripped naked and tried to communicate, yet Wei Jiuyi still ran away, only to turn back and say that Shi Qing was tormenting her.
That made no sense.
Wei Jiuyi couldn’t think of so many things in such a short time. Zhang Yulan’s warning and the thoughts she had been dwelling on in her bedroom rushed into her mind, nearly shattering her brain.
Was Shi Qing really hinting at her, or was she just a lovesick fool?
What was the answer?
“So, the nightgown that day and the white shirt today—they both had that meaning, didn’t they?”
Wei Jiuyi didn’t know what words to use that would both convey her thoughts and not offend Shi Qing. She couldn’t risk offending Shi Qing again.
Shi Qing turned her head, biting the delicate flesh on the inside of her lower lip, and said, “What meaning?”
Wei Jiuyi’s breathing was erratic. She closed her eyes in agony. The only thing that flashed through her mind was Shi Qing leaning against the sink with her eyes glistening as she said, “Take me home.” She was delighted by Shi Qing’s initiative but was afraid it was all her wishful thinking. Her mind was in a state of double torment, and she could only continue to ask.
“The nightgown you wore that day—you don’t usually wear it. You only wore it because I had left it there, right?”
“What do you think?”
“And today, you wore a white shirt, which is a more direct hint than the nightgown that day. Is it what I think it is?”
Shi Qing didn’t say anything.
“And just now, when you asked me to bring you back, did that have that meaning, too?”
Shi Qing lowered her eyelids, staring at the light spot reflected on the floor, and swore, “Wei Jiuyi, are you an idiot?”
Wei Jiuyi was overjoyed by the curse. With Shi Qing’s scent in her nose, her breathing became even more erratic. She cautiously leaned close to Shi Qing’s ear and whispered, “So, can I kiss you?”
The hand around the back of her neck tightened. It was at that moment that Wei Jiuyi realized that Shi Qing had been holding onto her neck ever since they came in the door.
When she didn’t get a verbal response from Shi Qing for a long time, Wei Jiuyi had to ask again, “Ah Qing, can I kiss you?”
Shi Qing’s eyelashes fluttered. Finally, she was forced to speak. The moment she looked up, her gaze was fractured. “Ask one more time and get lost.”
A spark fell on gasoline, and with a whoosh, a fierce fire erupted. Fireworks exploded in the sky. The fiery blossoms and the bonfire on the grassland intertwined to form a grand painting that pierced the sky. The world instantly fell into a state of frenzy.
White garlic peels were stripped away, revealing a smooth, shiny garlic clove. The entire clove was thrown into water, and when it was taken out, its surface shimmered. After being vigorously shaken dry, it was thrown into the hot oil. The garlic immediately let out a sharp cry and struggled and tumbled in the oil, eventually releasing a rich, savory aroma.
At the same time, Wan Xin, who was in the ride-share car, was nervously clutching her pants. This was the third time she urged, “Driver, can you go any faster?”
Time flashed forward as the two of them stumbled into the bedroom, embracing each other. Shi Qing lost her balance and fell onto the bed. Afraid that she would hurt her back, Wei Jiuyi wrapped her arms around Shi Qing’s waist and slowly fell down, pressing Shi Qing down onto the bed, though she could have sat up steadily.
Their hair was tangled, and their body temperatures soared.
“Ah Qing, I don’t have any finger cots.”
Wei Jiuyi was in a rush but couldn’t contain her inner frenzy. While kissing Shi Qing, she fumbled for her phone. “Wait a minute; I’ll order some delivery.”
Shi Qing pushed her phone away, turned her head to the side, and her closed eyes flickered. “They’re in the drawer.”
Wei Jiuyi took a couple of seconds to process this. From Shi Qing’s crimson cheeks, she could see a touch of shyness, and she moved closer in ecstasy. “You’ve been thinking about this for a while, haven’t you? You’ve been wanting this to happen with me for a while now, haven’t you?”
This made Shi Qing so angry that she threw a pillow at her. “Shut up!”
At the entrance of the estate, Wan Xin got out of the ride-share car, swiped her access card, opened the gate, and ran all the way to the building in the northwest corner. Her shadow flashed around the corner, rushed into the corridor, and finally disappeared into the building’s elevator shaft.
In the bedroom, the moonlight coated their skin with a layer of whiteness. The alcohol burned their body temperatures to the extreme, revealing a pinkish hue in the depths of the whiteness.
A head was lifted high, and the hair created a beautiful arc in mid-air. A faint sob could be heard in the air.
“Ah Qing, you smell so good. Do you know you smell so good?”
“Stop talking…”
“But every time I say that, you become so… sensitive.”
A key was inserted into the security door, turned once, and pushed open.
The light in the hallway was on, but the living room was empty. Wan Xin panted as she changed her shoes, carefully checking the shoe rack. There wasn’t an extra pair of shoes she didn’t recognize.
Suppressing her uneven breaths, she called out in a loud voice, “Sister Qing, are you back?”
Boom—
The sudden sound was like a clap of thunder in the bedroom. The two of them, their clothes in disarray, jolted and looked in the direction of the door, their eyes almost penetrating the tightly closed door.
Shi Qing reacted first, slapping Wei Jiuyi several times. Wei Jiuyi also got up as if she had been shocked.
“How did she get back?” Wei Jiuyi asked in surprise.
“Shh!” Shi Qing quickly motioned for her to be quiet.
“What is she doing back here?”
“Sister Wen told her to come and keep an eye on me, just in case something happened between you and me!”
In the living room, Wan Xin put on her slippers and looked at the light coming from the gap under Shi Qing’s bedroom door. She walked closer, step by step. “Sister Qing? They said Teacher Wei brought you back. Did she leave already?”
Shi Qing hastily replied, “Oh, is that you, Xiao Wan? She already left. I was about to go to bed. Why are you back?”
Wan Xin’s hand reached for the doorknob. “I saw you were drunk and wanted to come back and check on you.”
Shi Qing quickly said, “I’m fine. I’m going to bed now. You should go back and play with them, okay?”
Wei Jiuyi quickly helped Shi Qing straighten her clothes but found that a button had fallen off somewhere. “Your shirt.”
Shi Qing slapped her hand. “Don’t worry about that. Hide now!”
At the door, Wan Xin’s hand was already gripping the doorknob, just one final push away from getting inside. “Sister Qing, are you really okay? Your voice sounds a little hoarse.”
“I’m fine.”
“Should I get you some water?”
“No, I’m very sleepy now. If you don’t want to go back there, just go to your room and rest, okay?”
Wan Xin hesitated at the door, the memory of Dou Qinwen’s instructions flashing in her mind. She pushed the door open with all her might.
