Let's Do Some Questions - Chapter 15
It was… too close.
Chu Fengqiu’s thoughts were a bit jumbled for a moment. She stared at the problem for a while before finally focusing on it. But the train of thought she had before seemed to have been blown away by some unknown force to Siberia. For a moment, the problem felt completely foreign to her.
“Why did you stop writing?”
Song Man was ready to continue the battle, but Chu Fengqiu had stopped writing.
“You’re leaning on me.”
Chu Fengqiu’s expression stiffened slightly.
Song Man thought Chu Fengqiu wasn’t used to being in such close contact with someone and was probably uncomfortable being leaned on like that, so she lifted her head.
The weight on her body disappeared, and Chu Fengqiu gradually relaxed. The problem in front of her started to feel familiar again. Chu Fengqiu glanced at Song Man out of the corner of her eye, paused her pen tip, and then continued writing. This time, she slightly turned her body, deliberately letting Song Man see clearly.
Song Man’s mind was still immersed in the problem and quickly started calculating the second part. When she was almost finished, she noticed Chu Fengqiu was only halfway through.
Tsk, my sister isn’t doing so well.
Song Man wanted to pat Chu Fengqiu’s shoulder, but when her hand reached out, she realized it wasn’t appropriate. It was a good thing she didn’t pat her, or she might have startled Chu Fengqiu.
But since her hand was already there, Song Man politely, yet awkwardly, brushed it over Chu Fengqiu’s shoulder before pulling it back.
Song Man thought her movement was very light, but she didn’t know the storm it stirred in Chu Fengqiu’s heart.
Summer clothes were thin, and Chu Fengqiu could feel the warmth of Song Man’s fingers and the pressure as they brushed her shoulder. It was like a spark falling into an endless prairie, igniting a wildfire in an instant.
Chu Fengqiu felt a moment of blankness and took a deep breath. It took her twice as long as usual to finish the problem. The moment she finished, Chu Fengqiu felt a strange sense of relief.
After she wrote down the answer, Song Man specifically leaned over to take a look. Seeing that it matched, she thought for a moment.
The second sub-question was connected to the first problem. In terms of difficulty, the first sub-question was actually harder than the second, but the second problem required the answer from the first to be solved, which made the whole problem difficult. However, Chu Fengqiu had already solved the first problem, so there was no reason for the second problem to take more time to think about.
Song Man couldn’t quite figure it out, but she couldn’t ask directly. She could only swallow her question and continue looking at her math book. To be honest, it was very boring. Especially the parts introducing theorems; even after reading them, you couldn’t make heads or tails of it.
But to show that she was reading properly, Song Man started doing mental proofs.
Chu Fengqiu looked at Song Man, who was seriously reading, and let out a breath. She couldn’t describe the feeling, but that moment was even more startling than static electricity. And why it was like this, Chu Fengqiu didn’t understand.
“Um… maybe you should go back first. I’ll finish reading the book, and we can do problems tomorrow, okay?”
Song Man had just finished proving a formula and just wanted to lie in bed and play on her phone.
“Okay.”
Chu Fengqiu packed up her things and stood up.
“Then… good night.”
“Good night.”
Song Man waved.
As soon as the door closed, Song Man started celebrating. She threw the book aside, pulled out her phone, and got ready to play a game.
“About tomor…”
The door was unexpectedly opened again. Song Man immediately moved to the desk in a tiger-pounce move, grabbed the book, and smiled serenely at Chu Fengqiu, looking like she was enjoying a peaceful time.
“Do you still need me to wake you up tomorrow?”
Chu Fengqiu finished her sentence.
Song Man scratched her head, feeling a bit troubled.
“Actually, I want to be late.”
Getting up at 6:30 every day was torture. She used to sleep until eight or nine.
“I don’t think that’s okay.”
Chu Fengqiu shook her head.
“I think it is. Do you know I’m going bald?”
Song Man pulled out a strand of hair and showed it to Chu Fengqiu.
“So I need to take care of my health. Do you know what taking care of your health means? It means sleeping eight hours a day. Not a minute or a second less counts as eight hours.”
“You can go to bed early.”
“How can we, the new generation of young people, go to bed early?”
Song Man’s tone was full of disbelief.
Amazing.
“Okay, I’ll wake you up tomorrow. Otherwise, Uncle might come to wake you.”
Chu Fengqiu declared that it was decided.
Bringing up the parents was cheating.
“Going to bed early, I think, is still very necessary for us, the new generation of young people.”
Song Man immediately changed her tune, putting on the expression of a middle-aged person focused on health.
“What do you want for breakfast tomorrow morning?”
“Goji berry infused water, thank you.”
Chu Fengqiu nodded and closed the door.
Song Man celebrated again, spun her chair to lock the door, threw herself onto the big bed, and opened the game.
Having three big mountains at home wasn’t enough; she had to find another small mountain to add to it. It was really uncomfortable. Only games could relieve a thousand worries.
The new season had arrived. After inheriting her rank, Song Man started a solo queue game.
The new support hero had been released on the official server, but the in-game model and the one on the homepage were completely different people. Even online dating to meeting in person didn’t have this kind of difference.
Song Man had seen the hero’s introduction and skill demonstration before and wasn’t very interested because she personally liked heroes that could show off, carry, and change the tide of the game. She didn’t really like supports who babied the AD carry like a child, worrying like a mother, taking the worst beatings, and occasionally getting cursed at by the incompetent and useless unfilial son.
Song Man started the game and lost the first match. She told herself, it’s okay, this is normal at the start of the season.
Song Man lost the second match. She told herself, it’s okay, stay calm and collected.
Song Man lost the third match. She told herself, it’s… Screw ‘it’s okay’.
Damn game.
Song Man took a deep breath. She felt it might be because she hadn’t spent money, so she spent money to get the pink girl skin for Wu Zetian and started the game full of anticipation.
The support picked Yao and legitimately AFK’d the whole game. They couldn’t bait enemies or draw out skills, couldn’t even protect, and constantly pretended to be dead on teammates. The AD carry was precarious, trembling, and died multiple times.
After three more consecutive losses, Song Man’s mentality collapsed.
Song Man paced back and forth in the room agitatedly, punching the wall to vent her frustration.
So annoying! This is so annoying!
Chu Fengqiu, separated by a wall, heard the thumping sounds from next door and sat up from her bed, feeling a bit strange. Then she heard the sound of punching the wall, mixed with a few agitated curses.
Chu Fengqiu thought for a moment, then walked out of her room.
While Song Man was still trying to calm down in her room, she heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?”
“It’s me. What’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable because of constipation?”
Chu Fengqiu’s voice came through the door, carrying a tone of concern.
????
Ah!!!!
Song Man screamed internally like a marmot.
Why, why is this happening!
