Let's Do Some Questions - Chapter 20
Song Man just didn’t know what this person was jumping about. Song Man didn’t believe that Dong Xue had some other reason for calling Chu Fengqiu up, rather than doing it because she disliked Chu Fengqiu.
Dong Xue’s excited look clearly showed she noticed Chu Fengqiu wasn’t feeling well and was using this impeccable excuse to mess with her.
Although it might not be a big deal for Chu Fengqiu, standing up while feeling unwell would definitely be uncomfortable.
How could Song Man let Dong Xue succeed? Anyway, reading English wasn’t a big deal. She had read it once before, so she had a reason and wasn’t afraid of ruining her persona at all.
Dong Xue read very honestly, without pulling any stunts throughout.
Song Man smoothly took over the next section. Although Dong Xue didn’t read badly, compared to Song Man, it felt like “factory English.” The difference was immediately apparent.
“Song Man, your English reading is quite good. How did you learn to speak like that? Can you share with everyone?”
“Frequent overseas travel.”
Everyone in the class fell silent, and the teacher’s smile froze on her face.
Alright, it’s good to be rich.
After finishing, Song Man pulled her chair back and sat down with a loud motion, bumping Dong Xue’s desk. Dong Xue didn’t say anything, just silently straightened her desk.
Song Man scoffed. People like this were just bullies who picked on the weak, taking advantage of the fact that Chu Fengqiu wouldn’t bother with her, causing trouble with petty actions.
“Are you okay?”
After sitting down, Song Man quietly asked Chu Fengqiu.
“I’m okay.”
“Stomach ache?”
“Mm.”
“Go to the infirmary?”
“No need.”
Chu Fengqiu had bought medicine, not painkillers, but ibuprofen, though she hadn’t brought it with her.
“Then let me warm you up. Your hands are too cold.”
Song Man touched Chu Fengqiu’s palm, and indeed, it was cold and damp.
This was where the advantage of having warm hands came in handy; there was no need to worry about cold hands at all. It was as effective as a warm patch.
Chu Fengqiu felt a little embarrassed but didn’t refuse.
“We’re friends, what’s there to be embarrassed about? We’re both girls anyway.”
Song Man placed her hand on Chu Fengqiu’s stomach, but couldn’t feel any warmth through the clothes.
Her body was too cold. No wonder she was like a walking air conditioner in the summer.
Song Man shifted her position slightly, moving her hand closer, and occasionally rubbed it back and forth to let Chu Fengqiu feel more warmth.
Chu Fengqiu felt a wave of heat rising from her tailbone, spreading up her entire back, even making her ears feel a bit hot.
It seemed like the abdominal pain wasn’t as intense anymore. That little flame was flickering there, the warmth driving away the cold.
She looked up at Song Man. Song Man wasn’t looking in her direction, but was casually flipping through her English book, seemingly not noticing what she was doing.
Chu Fengqiu lowered her head again to look at Song Man’s hand. Song Man’s hand was fair, not inferior at all under the white school uniform.
Song Man’s skin tone was a cool white, which looked like it would be cold to the touch, but her hand was surprisingly warm.
Just like Song Man herself, she looked a bit fierce and unapproachable, but she was actually very loyal, generous, had a good personality, and was very warm.
Chu Fengqiu began to regret a little that they hadn’t met sooner. In their lives before this, they were on the same campus, yet they had no interaction at all, never even crossed paths.
Chu Fengqiu thought perhaps they had seen each other before. Maybe when she was giving a speech on the stage, Song Man was playing on her phone below. She hadn’t noticed her in the crowd, and Song Man hadn’t looked up at her. Their gazes had never even met, like complete strangers.
But it was good that they knew each other now; it wasn’t too late.
Song Man didn’t withdraw her hand until class was over.
The heat source suddenly disappeared, and Chu Fengqiu felt the chill seem to return, sweeping over her senses in an instant. The pain, which had been bearable, seemed to become sharp and piercing, difficult to endure.
“Are you sure you don’t need to go to the infirmary?”
“It’s okay, it’s just the usual pain.”
They were both girls, Song Man understood.
“Does it hurt that much? Do you need a warm patch or something?”
Song Man was someone who didn’t experience pain during her period. She had seen others in pain, but she didn’t have that specific feeling.
“I forgot to bring it. I have some at home. I tend to feel cold.”
Chu Fengqiu secretly didn’t want a warm patch; she only wanted Song Man’s hand, but saying that would be too strange and inappropriate, so Chu Fengqiu simply said she didn’t need it.
“No wonder you’re so cold.”
Having this kind of body type must be amazing in the summer, but sure enough, everything had its pros and cons. It must be very painful during her period, and she probably suffered a lot in the winter too.
“There are two more classes. I’ll have the driver pick us up at noon. Go home and find a heat patch, and drink more hot water.”
Chu Fengqiu nodded.
Song Man stood up, turned around, and looked towards Dong Xue.
Dong Xue was startled by her sudden turn, lowering her head and pretending not to exist.
She dared to say a few things behind Song Man’s back, but facing this notorious and supposedly terrifying female school bully head-on, she didn’t dare to speak, not even make eye contact.
“Hey.”
Song Man tapped on Dong Xue’s desk.
“Is something wrong?”
Dong Xue paused her action of tidying her desk, looking at the lower half of Song Man’s face, her voice very small.
“Nothing much. I changed classes, so I should always communicate and build rapport with my classmates.”
Dong Xue was silent, not knowing what to say. She didn’t want to build any rapport with her at all.
“Why do you seem a little scared of me? I’m such a kind person.”
Song Man leaned closer. Dong Xue flinched in fright, immediately backing away. When she met Song Man’s gaze, her body froze.
“Why are you hiding? Come here.”
Song Man beckoned with her finger.
Dong Xue didn’t dare to object, cautiously moving closer, afraid that Song Man would suddenly attack.
“Don’t be nervous, don’t be nervous. Look how scared you are, the flesh on your face is trembling. I won’t eat you. Come a little closer.”
Song Man smiled, looking especially kind.
Dong Xue approached hesitantly, and her collar was immediately grabbed.
“No matter what you’re thinking, if you ever bother Chu Fengqiu again for no reason, I’ll let you know how good the water in the girls’ restroom tastes.”
Song Man whispered the threat into Dong Xue’s ear, her voice low and chilling. Dong Xue’s teeth chattered even more violently.
“Understand?”
“Un… understand.”
Chu Fengqiu watched the person leaning close to Dong Xue’s ear, unconsciously frowning slightly.
Song Man smiled and released Dong Xue’s collar, helping her smooth out the wrinkles and gently patting it.
Dong Xue flinched again, biting her lip, her eyes red.
Song Man turned back with a beaming smile and said to Chu Fengqiu, ‘Done.’
“What did you say to her?”
Chu Fengqiu looked a little curious.
“Of course, I told her to be more observant. Does it still hurt? Lend me your hand.”
Song Man extended her hand towards Chu Fengqiu.
