- Episode 33 - The Level-Up Maniac Becomes Goblin Slayer
“-Hinata-san, today is the first day, so let’s leave it at that and go home now.”
“Y-You’re finally here…”
“Oh, come on, this madman did go around the monster room.”
“I never thought I’d see something as crazy as a Monster Room Endurance Race on Hinata’s channel.”
“Halfway through, the drone camera only showed Janki Niki, which made me laugh.”
“Hinata’s channel has been taken over by Junkie Niki”
『Even though we took frequent breaks to let Hinata-chan recover her MP, didn’t we still fight quite a few times?』
“Just how many goblins have you defeated today…?”
When I told Hinata that we were going home, for some reason she looked more tired than me. Well, even though I had given her plenty of MP, I had her use heals a lot, so maybe that’s what tired her out.
The current time is a little after 6 pm.
We arrived at the Monster Room at around 2:30pm, which means we ended up circling the Monster Room for about three and a half hours.
In the end, I was only able to complete 21 laps.
Hinata-san still had plenty of MP left, but the fact that it ended after this many attempts is a problem on my side.
As expected, while I was still getting used to it, the fight took a long time, and I wasted flying slashes of 《Sword Spirit》, so the unnecessary consumption of HP was noticeable. So Hinata-san had to heal me twice, and also, my stamina―or rather, mainly my concentration was not enough, so we had to take frequent breaks together.
Although each battle lasted less than two minutes, it was still necessary to fight at full strength the entire time, and completing a lap without a break was still impossible.
But well, my level has gone up, and towards the end I was able to win by keeping my HP consumption below 40, so I’m sure I’ll be able to do it more efficiently next time. I’m gradually getting used to it.
So, what about the all-important issue of experience point efficiency?
The amount of experience points you can get from going around the monster room once is 4410. However, this is if you’re playing solo, and since I was at a party with Hinata today, the amount was half that.
In other words, you can get 2,205 experience points in one go. Since it’s 21 times, the total experience points you get from going around the monster room is 46,305.
If we add in the experience points he had before going on lunch break, the total will easily exceed 56,000.
Needless to say, the experience points I got today were the highest I’d ever gotten. This was even with the experience points I got from forming a party, which cut it in half, so my efficiency was incomparable to yesterday’s.
I’ll be able to do it more efficiently next time. I’ve leveled up and my abilities have increased, so it’s quite realistic to get over 100,000 experience points in a day.
Below is my current status.

Did you notice?
Yes, as always, there are unfamiliar skills and unfamiliar titles.
Below are details on the titles and skills.
————————————————–
【title】
Goblin Slayer – the proof of a goblin slayer. You have been recognized as a skilled goblin slayer. Your body will become sharper in battles with goblins.
【skill】
Goblin Slayer Level 1: Damage dealt to goblins is increased by 2.4 times. In addition, when fighting goblins, all ability values except HP and MP are increased by 10%.
————————————————–
This is a variation of the skill and title of 《Goblin Killer》.
Now, here’s the important part – I’ve never heard of a skill or title like 《Goblin Slayer》. It’s not even listed in the Modern Dungeon Strategy Wiki.
In other words, unless the information was concealed, I was the only one to have obtained this skill and title.
It’s probably easy to guess why this sudden change occurred. It’s because I’ve killed over 1000 goblin monsters. Another reason for this is probably that my 《Goblin Killer》 skill level has reached its maximum.
Putting aside the task of defeating 1000 goblins, there must be very few people who meet the latter condition, or maybe I’m the only one. If that’s the case, it makes sense that no one has ever manifested the Goblin Slayer skill until now.
Now, as for the details of the crucial skill — aren’t they just too strong!?
If this went according to the currently known laws of skill growth, the final effect would be to unconditionally deal quadruple damage to goblins, as well as increase all ability values by 50% while fighting goblins.
To be honest, it’s no exaggeration to say that it’s an exceptionally powerful skill…
“…No, but…”
I thought so at first, but it was still ineffective against non-goblins, and investing precious skill points in something like that was still too risky. Even I, who had already put four points into 《Goblin Killer》, would hesitate to put another four points into it.
Thinking about it like that, although it is certainly powerful, it may not be such an extraordinary skill…
Although that’s not the reason, I haven’t allocated any skill points to it for now.
Once I get the 《Life Magic》 skill orb, there are some skills I want to acquire right away, so I expect my level-up pace will slow down for a while after tomorrow.
There are skills like “Bl00d Vengeance” that I want to level up, and I’d also like to get “Seeker” soon… To be honest, I’m wondering what to do with my points.
I seriously don’t have enough skill points…!!
For the time being, I don’t feel that my current skills are lacking on the fourth floor, so I plan to either obtain a 《Life Magic》 skill orb or decide how to allocate points when I move to the fifth floor.
Anyway, back to the main topic.
“Hinata-san, we’ve picked up all the magic stones, so shall we go outside?”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
As I shouldered my backpack, which was now heavily loaded with just the goblin’s magic stones, I once again realized the power of healing magic.
As the two of them left the room, I expressed my admiration to Hinata.
“Wow, healing magic is amazing. The efficiency is completely different from when you’re playing solo. That’s why people with healing magic are so useful.”
“Yes, no, that’s not it. The reason why people with healing magic are so valuable isn’t because they have to fight without rest, right?”
“Now that I think about it, Janki-niki, you fought so many times and you didn’t get attacked, did you?”
『Eh? What? So that means Hinata-chan’s heal wasn’t used to heal injuries, but was purely used to restore HP!?』
“It’s not unusual for an explorer to not get hurt if they have a proper safety margin, but, strangely, Janky-Niki was fighting alone and going around the monster rooms.”
“And yet you didn’t get hurt? Does that mean you’re good at fighting?”
“But hey, what if we make a ridiculous amount today?”
『Ah, the amount of magic stones is certainly impressive. I did throw away all of my equipment, though.』
“What’s going on there, Junkie-niki?”
As I left the monster room and walked down the hallway toward the stairs, a viewer asked me a question, so I answered it.
“Ah, I’m not sure how much it will be, but the number of goblins I defeated in the monster room was 336, and in the morning… I mean, I defeated about 100 before the lunch break, so I guess I defeated about 430 in total?”
In other words, that’s how many magic stones have been collected.
『430 magic stones, huh… and they’re all from the 4th floor, right? How much will they cost?』
『I just did a rough calculation, and it’s probably well over 3 million. Just counting the magic stones from the monster room, which is easier to calculate, it’s over 2.6 million.』
『Huh?! Over 3 million?!』
“This is the first time I’ve seen a party earn over 3 million in a day on the 4th floor… No, if they’re lucky enough to get a 《Life Magic》 skill orb, they might make that much.”
Seriously?… Not only is the experience gained, but the income is also so much more efficient.
Hinata-san is all different.
“You did it, Hinata-san! It looks like you’re probably earning at least 1.5 million yen per person!”
Well, some money is taken from that in taxes.
“N-no no!? I can’t accept it!? I was just healing today! To be honest, my level went up several times just by healing, so I feel so sorry that I feel like I’m living off Takeo-kun. I’d feel better if Takeo-kun received all the money…”
”But for some reason, Hinata-san was reluctant.”
“No, no, without Hinata-san’s heal, I wouldn’t have made this much money, so please accept at least half of it. It’s a fair reward. Plus, I got the potion, so I’m the one who benefits more than you.”
That’s right.
In fact, seven beginner level heal potions had dropped just today. At first, I was going to share them with Hinata, but she said she didn’t need them and gave them to me.
To be honest, I want the potion, so I’m grateful.
With this, even on days when Hinata-san isn’t there, I’ll be able to go around the trap room a few times. So, naturally, she has no intention of selling me potions.
On top of that, receiving the money from the sale of the magic stones was unthinkable. Perhaps Hinata-san was underestimating herself too much.
So after a few back-and-forth arguments, I finally persuaded Hinata to accept the money properly.
