- Episode 43 - Level-Up Maniac Awakens in a Strange Place
“–Hmm?”
The moment I woke up, something felt strange.
I opened my eyes, fighting against sleepiness, and found myself in an unfamiliar room. It wasn’t my room at home. It was a stylish room with few possessions, but with chic furniture.
I was sleeping on the bed in that room.
“Where? Here?”
He muttered as he sat up in bed and looked around the room. It was a completely unfamiliar place.
The room was a little dim, but it wasn’t morning, evening, or night, and the faint light filtering in through the gaps in the curtains illuminated the room just enough to barely block my view.
I got off the bed, walked to the window, and pulled open the curtains.
The view outside the window was of a dense row of skyscrapers. It was probably the center of Tokyo. A skyscraper standing there – it was probably a room in an apartment building.
Well, knowing that doesn’t explain why I’m here.
“Hmmm… I think… Huh?! That’s right!!”
Searching my memory, I was able to clearly remember what had happened before I lost consciousness.
As I was circling the monster room, a group of guys, who I couldn’t tell if they were delinquents or gangsters, came in and tried to do naughty things to Hinata.
And since I was about to be killed as well, I took a gamble, resolved to fight back with all my might, and attacked the men.
However, when I defeated one of them, I thought I had gained some strange title and skill, and for some reason, an intensely strong desire to kill suddenly welled up within me, and I lost my mind.
After somehow managing to fight back against all the men, I was about to kill Hinata-san as well when suddenly, out of nowhere, a Yakuza bro appeared and stopped me. He delivered a Yakuza kick that smashed all my bones into pieces, pulverized my internal organs, and knocked me unconscious.
But I’m alive now.
Even though my body was in such a state that the word “dying” was appropriate, I no longer had a single scratch on it, and it didn’t hurt anywhere.
Maybe someone would heal him.
And what’s most important is that now I no longer feel the urge to kill like I did back then.
I’ll have to look into whether this is because I’m on the surface and my status isn’t working, or if I’ll be assailed by those murderous urges again if I enter the dungeon.
I chanted “status” in my mind, and a status screen that only I could see was displayed.

My level has gone up to 20. I gained two levels while fighting the guys.
But even looking at it again, the amount of experience points I got from the guys was incredible. I mean, the experience points needed to go from 19 to 20 are 300,000, right? In other words, the experience points I got from the guys were roughly over 400,000.
Moreover, at that time, I was at a party with Hinata, so the experience points I gained should have been halved.
That means Hinata-san must have also gained 400,000 experience points and leveled up a lot. She should be at level 20, just like me.
But no, my experience points were boosted by the effect of Last Murder’s 2.4x experience points, so Hinata’s experience points were probably less than 200,000. Probably less than 180,000?
Well, that’s still a huge amount.
Wow… Even though there were 11 people in total, the amount of experience that humans have is extraordinary…
………….
No way! I wouldn’t kill someone just to level up!
Anyway.
The important thing now is not to allocate the status points and skill points that have accumulated because they have not been allocated…
“A title for a skill that’s painted black, after all…”
The title of 《Pleasure Killer》 and the skill 《Last Murder》 had been blacked out.
However, I have never seen or heard of such a phenomenon. If you read it from a gamer’s perspective, you can probably guess, but I don’t know if it’s really “like that”. What kind of situation is this?
If that homicidal urge strikes again, I’ll be in serious trouble. I won’t be able to level up.
Hmmm… While I was pondering this seriously, I heard the door to my room open with a click.
“–Takeo-kun?”
When I turned around, it was Hinata.
“Good… you woke up…”
Hinata said this and came into the room with slightly awkward movements.
I just said good morning.
“Good morning, Hinata-san.”
“Ah, yeah. Good morning, Takeo-kun.”
I slowly approached Hinata-san.
Hinata shivered slightly, then she folded her arms to hug herself and looked down.
Hmm…
First, what I have to do is decide. I am…
