- Episode 53 - Leveling Up Freaks, Emphasizing Efficiency
April 4th.
The date changed, and the fatigue from yesterday was completely gone, so I came to Shinjuku Dungeon again today.
Jog from the first floor to the monster room on the fourth floor.
Thanks to my increased Agility today, I was able to reach my destination in about 1 hour and 50 minutes.
My immediate goal is to finish in under 1 hour and 30 minutes. I think I could do it if I went all out now, but it would be physically too tough, so I don’t intend to go all out.
At this pace, it’s a good warm-up.
Anyway, let’s kill some time today by running around the monster rooms.
I opened the door, went inside, and began fighting as usual.
And it’s 7 pm.
This concludes today’s lap.
Since I had a rough idea of how to pace myself yesterday, I limited the number of laps I could do per hour today, so I didn’t have to take unnecessary breaks along the way or lose my stamina or concentration and get hit by the enemy.
We maintained a rate of about 10 laps per hour, and although we took a one-hour lunch break in the middle, we were otherwise able to continue at a steady pace.
Well, I took a few minutes to catch my breath after each battle, and when I felt fatigue building up, I drank a heal potion even though my HP wasn’t decreasing.
It’s a healing potion that heals injuries and HP, but if you drink it, it will also heal fatigue a little. It won’t heal if you apply it to the affected area, though.
It’s a pretty extravagant way to use potions, but if you keep going around here, your potions will just keep increasing.
I could sell them in the first place, but I don’t intend to sell them because I don’t want to waste the potions. When Hinata isn’t around, the efficiency of leveling up changes depending on whether I have the potions or not.
So, today’s total number of laps was 70 (note that I arrived 10 minutes early, but took that time to rest, so I didn’t start laps until 11 am).
The total number of goblins defeated was 1,120.
Number of beginner heal potions dropped: 21 (6 of which were used to recover from fatigue).
Total experience points earned: 308,700.
The sales price of the magic stones was 8,715,000 yen (excluding tax).
…What is this? I’m making more than enough money that I don’t need to sell magic stones for a while.
For now, I don’t have any plans to spend much money, so I might as well ignore magic stones.
I was starting to feel like picking up magic stones was a pain. Or rather, I was thinking that I could get around more efficiently if I didn’t have to pick up magic stones.
Generally, picking up magic stones 1120 times can take a toll on your back. Even though your status should be strengthened.
Also, even though I killed over 200 mages today, no new skill orbs dropped… I guess the odds have dropped.
Well, I’ll leave it to me tomorrow to decide what to do with the magic stones.
My level went up again today!

April 5th.
Naturally, I came to Shinjuku Dungeon again today.
I descended to the first floor and, just like yesterday, jogged, ignoring all the monsters I encountered along the way, and jogged the shortest distance to the monster room on the fourth floor.
The journey takes 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Well, he was a little more agile than yesterday, and I think attacking the inside of the corners and gradually shortening the distance paid off.
So, as soon as I arrive at the monster room, I’ll be smashing through the laps again today!
I thought about it while sleeping at home yesterday, and decided not to pick up the magic stones today. The only time I pick up dropped items is when I get a basic heal potion.
Oh, by the way, any dropped items that you left unpicked, such as the goblin equipment series, disappear completely if you leave the monster room and re-enter, as if they are absorbed by the dungeon.
The same goes for magic stones; even if you leave them alone, large amounts of magic stones won’t pile up all over the floor, so please rest assured when trying out this method of running around.
Anyways – Back to the topic, I already have about 30 heal potions stored in my house. To be honest, it would be troublesome to have any more, so I decided to use up all the ones that dropped today by the end of the day.
Then I realized that using potions simply as a fatigue recovery medicine would be a waste.
Therefore, I decided to actively consume HP.
That being said, it’s not like he’s using his “fighting spirit.” He’s using his “sword spirit.”
By using the flying blade of 《Sword Spirit》, you can save the trouble of approaching the enemy, saving time and, above all, conserving your stamina.
For that reason, I have decided to use 《Sword Spirit》 more actively from now on.
You keep your HP below half at all times and keep the first stage of 《Bl00d Vengeance》 active.
Now, when fighting goblins, all of my ability values will remain 60% increased.
Now, even a 10% difference can have a visible effect. The battle, which was already stable, becomes even more stable.
So, when my HP dropped by 30 from the half value, I decided to drink a potion to recover.
If you go around the monster room, a potion will drop about once every 3-4 times.
Therefore, I decided to limit the HP consumed per round to about 10, and when the probability of a potion dropping meant that the potion didn’t drop, I limited myself to using Sword Spirit only once to defeat the Commander, and continued fighting until a potion dropped.
The battle time is now under one minute per round. If you use your flying blades without restraint, the battle will probably end in 30 to 40 seconds.
Then, if a potion was dropped, pick it up; if not, leave the room without picking up anything.
If I hurried fast, I could complete one lap per minute, but that would be too much stamina. So after each battle, I took at least a minute to catch my breath, and maintained a pace of completing one lap in about three minutes.
That’s 20 revolutions per hour.
Since you don’t have to bend over frequently, it doesn’t put much strain on your body.
Taking an hour for lunch in between, I continued to tour the Monster Room until 7 pm that day.
Below are today’s results.
Number of times around the monster room: 145 times (today, I assumed I would use potions to relieve fatigue, so I started circling the room as soon as I arrived).
The total number of goblins defeated was 2,320.
Number of beginner heal potions dropped: 43 (all 43 were used).
Number of magic stones acquired―0.
Number of skill orbs acquired: 1.
Total experience points earned: 639,450.
Furthermore, the volume of a heal potion is about the same as an expensive energy drink bottle (roughly 50ml).
That said, drinking 43 bottles amounts to over 2 liters…But I was exercising and sweating the whole time, and I wasn’t drinking it all at once, so I didn’t get bloated.
And best of all, I got more experience than I did yesterday. It’s more than double what I got yesterday.
As I thought, picking up the magic stones was taking up a lot of time. And it was hard on my back.
In exchange, I will have zero income today, but I don’t mind at all.
If you think of it as buying experience points with magic stones and potions, it’s cheap. No, it’s a good deal.
I mean, I leveled up again today, but only by one level. But with the experience points I have left, I can say I’ve earned almost two levels’ worth of experience points.

Wow, how can I put it, the increase in ability scores is on a whole other level compared to the beginning…
The experience points needed to level up will increase, but even so, from level 20 onwards, you only get 15 status points per level.
That’s right, my ability scores will skyrocket too.
However, with these stats, I’m sure I’ll be able to complete the dungeon more efficiently tomorrow…!!
