Little Blind Girl - Chapter 51
The HKCEE is around the corner, so the curriculum in the class will undergo major changes.
Next, there will be all classes for students of history, politics, and geography, including morning reading and evening self-study, all of which require memorizing and writing papers for students of history, politics, and geography.
Su Ruan is the only student who does not need to study in the evening, so after class every day, she takes the papers home to study.
Ke Congying has not been discharged from the hospital yet. The last time he ran home, the wound became inflamed and caused a high fever. After being scolded by the doctor, his grandparents also looked at him and refused to let him run around. He lay in bed all day long, either doing test papers or calling Su Ruan, and the two chatted together while doing test papers.
A week before the examination, he took off the thick gauze and replaced it with a smaller one.
After leaving the hospital, the doctor told him not to touch water and try not to wash his hair, but he didn’t listen. He went to the barber shop to find a barber to wash his hair before returning to school.
The fourth class in the afternoon is physical education.
Everyone else in the class was on the playground, only Su Ruan was sitting in the classroom reading.
Su Ruan does not need to take physical education classes. Her physical education classes are all self-study sessions in the classroom.
There were knocks on the back door twice and the sound of footsteps could be heard.
A round spherical object suddenly fell on her hand. She didn’t know which classmate was playing another prank, so she just sat quietly.
The man came closer, and the smell of cola came from his breath, which was sweet and slightly cool.
“Ke Congying!” She reached out her hand to touch him, with an undisguised smile on her lips.
Ke Congying didn’t dare to kiss her because she was at school, so he just pulled her out and said, “I’ll take you to play ball.”
Su Ruan was stunned for a moment, “What?”
She reached to touch the cane, but found nothing. Ke Congying held her arm and pulled her out.
She was thinking in her mind: How can she play as a blind person who cannot see?
Many people on the playground saw Ke Congying pulling Su Ruan over, holding a basketball in his other hand.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and thought in disbelief: Is Ke Congying bringing the blind girl to play basketball?
Su Ruan couldn’t see everyone’s expressions, but she heard many voices, which seemed to be talking about her. Her body tensed up and she wanted to turn around and leave reflexively, but Ke Congying pulled her all the way to the basketball court.
When the others saw Ke Congying coming, they quickly hugged the ball and ran away.
After Ke Congying dribbled and shot, he slapped the ball on the ground a few times and threw it into Su Ruan’s arms.
Su Ruan didn’t know how to play basketball. She had almost never touched a basketball. After catching the ball, she was a little at a loss.
She faced his direction and whispered, “I can’t play basketball.”
Ke Congying had already leaned over and grabbed her hand. The basketball was slapped on the ground. He grabbed her hand to shoot it. After teaching her the frequency and direction, he let go.
“Keep shooting, don’t stop.”
Su Ruan took several shots in a row, feeling a little surprised that she caught the basketball.
The palms of her hands hurt from the shock.
But there was a strange joy in her heart.
“Next, I’ll teach you how to shoot.” Ke Congying came over again and hugged her from behind. His breath enveloped her like a net from behind.
The fragrance of laundry detergent was mixed with the faint smell of sweat and the lingering smell of cola.
A vague outline of a young boy formed in Su Ruan’s mind.
He clasped her hand from behind, held the basketball in his hand, raised his arm to its highest position, and then whispered in her ear, “Too short.”
As soon as he finished speaking, his hand moved down, landed on her slender waist and lifted her whole body high.
Su Ruan let out a soft “Ah”, afraid of being seen by her classmates, and she was in a panic and at a loss. “Ke Congying!”
“What are you afraid of?” Ke Congying shouted in a low voice, “Throw the basketball forward.”
The hand on her waist was very strong and pinched her waist very painfully. Su Ruan threw the basketball forward randomly.
Ke Congying let her down.
“Did you hear that?” he asked.
“What?” Su Ruan’s heart beat violently.
Ke Congying started, jumped and shot while patting the basketball.
The basketball entered the frame and made a “clang” sound when it fell into the net.
It was the same sound she heard when she just shot the ball.
He came over with the ball and rubbed her head as a reward, with a hoarse voice and a smile.
“Little ancestor, congratulations on your goal.”
