Lord of Mysteries: The Cultivator - Chapter 15
“This is that somewhat gloomy adventurer I met at Bikini Beach before!”
A surge of feeling, like meeting an old acquaintance in a foreign land, suddenly welled up in Quinn’s heart.
“Are you… Bishop Quinn Flitt?”
Klein, disguised as Gehrman Sparrow, saw the appearance of the person through the thick fog. After a careful inspection, he found that his appearance was very similar to “Emperor” Quinn Flitt.
It was just that compared to the meeting at Bikini Beach, he seemed to have become more… delicate (or refined).
Klein observed Quinn and couldn’t help but secretly click his tongue.
In the previous Tarot Gatherings, Quinn had only explained that he was lost at sea. But because he himself did not know where he was, the members of the Tarot Gathering could only say they were unable to help.
Separated by layers of gray fog, Klein only knew that the invasion of the Fallen Mother Goddess had been eliminated, but he did not know that Quinn had suffered other contamination.
A little bit of madness was already showing in his eyes, and his body had undergone slight mutation… he already had a tendency toward losing control!
Klein’s expression remained unchanged, lest he provoke Quinn. He said in a low voice: “Your condition doesn’t seem very good.”
“Huh?” Quinn was surprised at first, then waved his hand carelessly: “Small matter, I can handle it!”
He opened one hand, and then a variety of medicinal herbs grew out of his hand as if by magic.
Then he clenched his hand tightly and stuffed the crushed herbal paste into his mouth.
He chewed it without a care, which made Klein’s eyebrows twitch, and made the man behind Klein and the family beside them gape.
“Although this is not comparable to the potions made from Beyonder materials, these herbs can at least temporarily block out the noise in my ears.”
Quinn fiercely swallowed the things in his mouth and showed a harmless smile.
He followed up with a question: “Are you here to sleep too?”
Klein was silent for two seconds and said briefly: “Looking for someone.”
“Looking for someone?” Quinn grinned, “Let’s look together? More people mean greater strength.”
Anyway, his purpose for coming here was to find a safe place, and what could be safer than being by his companion’s side?
Moreover, when he first met Gehrman, he could tell that this adventurer was not simple.
“Of course.” Klein agreed without hesitation, but the man behind him couldn’t help but whisper: “Are you serious? I feel that this guy is much more dangerous than the things outside!”
“Dunn, he is my friend.” Klein said in a calm yet serious tone. His indifferent gaze swept over Dunn. Dunn shivered, shut up, and acquiesced.
Quinn’s gaze flickered between the two, and he asked: “Have you found the person now?”
He glanced at the family next to them, who had two children and three bodyguards.
“We have found them…” Klein nodded. He turned to the family and said: “Something happened in Bansy Harbor.” “Will you stop here for the night, or will you follow me back to the ship?”
The well-dressed man leading the family took his wife’s hand, smiled politely as he walked out, and said: “All our belongings are on the ship, so of course we will go with you.”
“Thank you for your help.” They pulled their children and said to Klein and Quinn.
“The path to the port is a bit dangerous here, so let’s just take care of all the dangers.”
Quinn smiled and snapped his fingers. More than a dozen golems, carved with cold, evil patterns, burst out of the ground. Each of them was a full three meters tall, blocking the moonlight like tall walls and casting shadows on the stunned crowd.
As Quinn scattered specks of starlight, which submerged into their bodies, the puppets gradually became animated.
Without Quinn’s command, these massive golems understood their mission and rushed like a black swarm into the deep, eerie fog of Bansy Harbor.
Boom! Boom! Boom! In the night of Bansy Harbor, sounds of heavy objects smashing to the ground came from all directions, accompanied by the sound of flesh and bl00d splattering, bringing a bit of liveliness to the silent port.
“The road is probably safe now. Let’s go!” Quinn pretended to dust off his hands and said with a little smugness on his face.
What an exaggerated summon! The power of each of these puppets is comparable to a Sequence 7 Beyonder from the ‘Warrior’ or similar Pathways… Klein listened to the rumbling sound in the distance and thought in surprise.
Klein lifted the kerosene lamp, counting the number of people in the light.
More than fifteen people… If an emergency occurs, it’s very likely that I’ll be overwhelmed. Fortunately, ‘Emperor’s’ puppets cleared out most of the monsters. As expected, a fellow transmigrator is reliable!
Klein walked at the forefront to lead the way. Quinn walked at the end of the team, talking to the traveler’s children. Innocent questions from the children occasionally came from the back of the team.
“Brother Quinn, why does your hair move?” The older girl, Little Donna, looked at Quinn’s randomly wiggling emerald hair and wanted to touch it.
“Ah, that’s because they saw Little Donna and want to say hello to you.” Quinn replied cheerfully.
“Really?” Although Donna still had doubts, her eyes were already sparkling.
Fellow transmigrator, why do you look like someone who specializes in tricking children… Klein thought with some amusement at the front.
In a few minutes, they arrived safely at the Bansy Harbor Telegraph Office, which left Danitz, who wanted to witness Gehrman Sparrow’s strength, somewhat disappointed.
Through a woman whose tone and state were both strange, they learned through the gate that the people they were looking for were at the Church of the Storms.
Passing through the thick fog and deep night, they found the corpse of a Church of the Storms priest inside the church and discovered the ship’s captain, Elland, and first mate, Harris, from the ‘White Agate’.
After a confirmation, they joined Quinn’s group.
After a brief rest, Quinn pulled out a few more two-meter-tall wooden puppets, forming a tight defense line with the professional sailors.
They continued to move forward. The tall, silent golems surrounded the team, bringing a great sense of security to the adults and children.
Suddenly, the fog in front of them slightly gathered, and then an orange-yellow lamp light emerged from the fog. A human figure swayed and approached them.
A man in a blue bishop’s robe stumbled toward Quinn and the others. His face was pale and his steps were unsteady.
Upon seeing him, Captain Elland immediately cried out: “Bishop Miller!”
The man raised his head, and Elland’s reflection appeared in his eyes. He tried to walk closer to them step by step.
“Don’t move yet!”
At this moment, Quinn suddenly called out to stop Elland, staring warily at the approaching figure. The ground beneath his feet subtly surged, and his waist-length hair behind him twisted restlessly.
“What are you doing?” Elland was about to help Bishop Miller but saw Gehrman Sparrow pull out a gold coin and whisper: “Does he harbor malice?”
Clink!
The gold coin flipped up and fell back into Gehrman’s palm, heads up.
This indicated affirmation!
Bishop Miller watched this scene, and a dark red glow suddenly surged in his light brown pupils.
