Lord of Mysteries: The Cultivator - Chapter 25
Green long hair, emerald thorn necklace, Mother Goddess of Earth bishop’s robe, delicate features, eyes harboring madness…
“Star Almsiral” Cattleya quickly made a judgment: the man in front of her was “Emperor” of the Tarot Gathering!
Gehrman Sparrow, wearing a semi-tall silk top hat, nodded gently to Quinn: “Welcome, Quinn.”
Quinn smiled with eyes curving, but he complained: “Why did Mr. Hunter only say ‘to the right’? It teaches people half-understood.”
He lightly flipped over the railing and stood steadily on the deck. Water dripped down from his clean white bishop’s robe.
Gehrman placed his top hat on his chest and bowed lightly: “I apologize, Quinn. Next time for sure.”
“Then I’ll forgive you next time.”
Quinn rolled his eyes and said with a smile on his lips.
“I just arrived too.”
Cattleya stood beside them. The atmosphere between the two was so harmonious that she was momentarily unsure how to interject into their conversation.
At this moment, Gehrman gestured at Cattleya with his eyes and introduced her: “‘Star Admiral,’ Cattleya, the owner of the ‘Future.’”
Quinn immediately looked over. Cattleya nodded to Quinn and said: “Welcome, Mr. Quinn.”
“Y-you, hello!”
Quinn was stunned for a moment, not expecting that this mature woman, dressed like an astrologer, was “Star Admiral” Cattleya, and that he hadn’t even greeted her!
He stammered a reply, then pulled out a small box from behind his butt and handed it to Cattleya.
“A small gift, please excuse the informality. I will be causing you a lot of trouble later.”
What does this mean… Cattleya was a little confused by the routine of this “Demigod” giving a gift upon meeting. She felt it was inappropriate to refuse Quinn’s kindness, so she accepted the “meeting gift.” She quickly glanced inside; it seemed to be a humanoid object, flowing with complex spiritual radiance.
Is it a Sealed Artifact like a golem? How generous…
Cattleya said to Quinn: “Mr. Quinn, I’ll take you to familiarize yourself with the ‘Future’ first.”
“Oh, that’s great!”
Quinn’s eyes lit up. This was the first time in his two lives combined that he had actually set foot on a legendary pirate ship, and one with Beyonder abilities at that!
Cattleya choked, then led the curious Quinn into the cabin.
Beams of sight from the sailors were cast upon Quinn, making him feel a little uncomfortable. He peeked around at various parts of the “Future.”
Quinn noticed that the deck, mast, and cabin of this pirate ship were all inscribed with mystical runes. With Quinn’s knowledge of mysticism as an “Ancient Alchemist,” he could tell at a glance that these runes seemed to form a huge ritualistic magic.
A man wearing overalls and a white shirt was waiting there. He was about thirty-something, with a sturdy build and unusually thick body hair, making Quinn want to ask: “Aren’t you hot wearing a sweater?”
Seeing him, Quinn’s eyes lit up, and he exclaimed in surprise: “Frank Lee!”
The man was even more ecstatic and shouted: “Quinn Flitt!!”
The two excitedly embraced, their chests hitting with a violent sound. Quinn said in surprise: “Frank, I thought you had already been brought to judgment!”
“I’m alive and well, aren’t I?”
Frank smiled, the wrinkles on his face scrunching up. He couldn’t wait to give Quinn a tour. As they walked, he said excitedly:
“Your arrival is truly the best news I’ve heard all year! With you here, the experiments are bound to have a breakthrough!”
Hearing this sentence clearly, Cattleya’s face drastically changed, instantly turning considerably pale.
A trace of panic even flashed in her heart.
But by then, Frank had already dragged Quinn away and disappeared without a trace.
Cattleya reached out a hand, wanting to stop Frank, but it was too late.
Cattleya closed her eyes in regret.
I hope this ship isn’t ruined… she thought in her heart.
…
“This is the ‘Future’s’ second mate, Heath Doyle.”
“Hello.”
“Hello, hello!”
“This is the boatswain, Nina.”
“Little cutie…”
“H-h-hello!”
Frank almost perfunctorily introduced Quinn to the people on the “Future,” then quickly finished the tour of the entire ship, and headed straight for the laboratory.
Bang! In the gloomy laboratory, Frank slammed the door shut. Quinn, however, rushed eagerly to the experimental bench and asked: “Frank, let me see your results!”
“Heh heh heh, you haven’t changed a bit!” Frank pointed proudly to the water tank covered with a black cloth next to the experimental bench. “This contains my latest experimental result! Fish with bl00d flowing like red wine!”
“Frank, you are truly a devil!” Quinn lifted the black cloth and practically pressed himself against the wall of the water tank, observing with fascination.
Quinn and Frank were birds of a feather in the Mother Goddess of Earth Church. Frank always had bizarre and various ideas, while Quinn naturally possessed an intimate knowledge of biology. Both were extremely obsessed with these sinister things, which often led to punishment. The difference was that Frank, as the mastermind, was punished relatively more severely.
Quinn observed for a while, then suddenly frowned: “Frank, these fish, do they not have the ability to mate and reproduce?”
“What?” Frank rushed over in shock.
“What’s going on?” he murmured in confusion and anxiety, his eyebrows knitted into a tight knot.
Quinn thought for a moment and asked: “When you were cross-breeding, which part did you primarily focus the growth-inducing ability on?”
“The grapevine whose juice is red wine.”
“That’s it then.” Quinn slapped his palm. “If you emphasize the plant part, then you can consider planting the fish in the soil, but this doesn’t seem suitable at sea.”
“You should focus on the fish part, so it has more animal characteristics.”
“But I can’t use the ability on animals, nor do I have such fine control,” Frank said with difficulty.
Quinn patted his chest and said confidently: “That’s why I’m here, isn’t it?”
“Hahaha, you’re right!” A smile returned to Frank’s face, and he continued: “However, it’s not suitable for experiments now. It’s already very late.”
“Your room is near the Captain’s cabin, next to Gehrman Sparrow’s.”
Quinn nodded: “Let’s go.”
Frank led Quinn onto the deck, climbed a few flights of stairs, pushed open the door to the Captain’s cabin, and pointed to the back side: “That’s it.”
Quinn made a gesture of confirmation, took his luggage, walked on tiptoe, and gently pushed the door into his room.
Klein in the next room saw Quinn’s actions through the Spirit Body Threads and secretly smiled in his heart.
After a simple wash-up, Quinn lay down on the bed. Looking at the unfamiliar ceiling, he recalled all the people and events of the day. Quinn suddenly thought:
Gehrman’s personality is so similar to “The World”…
It can’t be…
The world can’t be that small. Never mind, time to sleep, time to sleep…
“Goodnight, Makka Pakka.”
He muttered, commanded a vine to turn off the light for him, and then stuffed his face and long hair into the quilt.
Next door, in the deep darkness.
Klein smiled silently: “Goodnight, Oopsy-Daisy.”
