Lord of Mysteries: The Cultivator - Chapter 30
“Die for me!”
The blade chopped the last lump of flesh into fragments, which turned into flying ashes in mid-air. The originally huge, wriggling floating island on the sea vanished, leaving only a thick layer of grey-black ashes swirling and rolling in the waves.
Quinn floated in the sea, now dyed grey. Several parts of his body were gone, such as one eye, his entire left arm, and a small portion of his abdominal cavity. Internal organs like his intestines floated uncontrollably into the distance.
Quinn was concerned that healing himself within the influence of the Mother Earth Goddess’s power might cause some kind of mutation, so he could only remain wounded for now.
“Oww… It hurts so much QAQ…” The sensation was truly unpleasant.
The regenerative ability of the original Flesh Giant was truly terrifying. For every piece Quinn chopped off, a corresponding number of smaller Giants would split out. However, under the gradual weakening of “Cradle,” the Giant, which eventually lost its proliferation ability, was ultimately eliminated by “Nature” and transformed into nourishment for Quinn. But it still left Quinn, who couldn’t use his healing ability, in a very sorry state.
Over ten minutes had passed since the Flesh Giant appeared. He was quietly waiting for the madness to dissipate.
Just then, a light band composed of tiny stars flew toward Quinn, lifting his broken body from the sea surface and returning him to the Future’s captain’s cabin.
Cattleya, dressed in a black robe with a calm and elegant demeanor, stood in the captain’s cabin, holding the light band connected to Quinn.
When Quinn landed back in the captain’s cabin, Cattleya sincerely and solemnly thanked him: “Thank you for your help, Mr. Quinn.”
“The Future owes you a favor.”
“It’s nothing…”
Although Quinn was slightly happy, he still really wanted to say: Can you help me heal? My intestines are still hanging out!
“That…”
“I understand.”
Before Quinn could speak, Cattleya waved her hand and sprinkled a shimmering shower of starlight, which gracefully fell onto Quinn.
While his eyes were almost blinded by the flash, Quinn discovered that the exaggerated wounds on his body had been filled with flesh and bl00d.
It still hurts a lot… Quinn felt bitter inside, but he didn’t say it.
He just wanted to hurry back to his room and lie down. I’ll quickly apply a… healing after leaving the Mother Goddess’s power range.
On his way back to the room, he saw a completely drenched Gehrman Sparrow and Anderson Hood.
Gehrman’s face was gloomy, as if someone owed him fifty-five thousand pounds. Anderson walked silently toward the dining room, not saying a word.
“Did you guys… go for a tandem swim?” The madness in Quinn’s head hadn’t completely subsided, so he spoke without much thought.
Gehrman subtly glanced at the wounds on Quinn’s body, slightly frowned, and said calmly, “While you were fighting that monster, we encountered ‘Admiral of Hell’ Ludwell again.”
“He attacked the Future and then ran.”
Wow, truly one wave after another. Quinn suddenly became very curious about whether Anderson’s bad luck had a limit.
Just as he was internally badmouthing Anderson, he suddenly saw Gehrman walking towards him: “Hey, hey! What are you doing? Not there!”
Completely unexpected by Quinn, Gehrman approached him with a calm expression. Slowly, his hand touched Quinn’s body, moving flexibly across the surface of his skin.
From his abdomen to his arm, from his face to his shoulder, an unusual tingling sensation came from the numb wounds. Quinn was almost unable to think about what was happening.
“Gehrman…”
“Done.”
In the brief moment Quinn was stunned, Gehrman retracted his hand.
“You… Y-y-you!!”
Quinn pointed at Klein, his face flushed crimson, unable to say a complete sentence. The hair at his heels twisted and squirmed due to his agitation.
Gehrman looked at Quinn’s reaction, paused for a second, and seemed to understand something.
He looked at Quinn helplessly: “Look at your wounds.”
“Huh?”
Quinn was also stunned. He subconsciously looked at the wounds on his chest and abdomen, finding the flesh and bl00d perfectly intact. He blinked, realizing his left eye had also regained sight. New wounds had appeared on his shoulder and arm, but they were no longer dangerous.
This is… damage transfer?
He gradually calmed down, but his face grew redder and redder, like an eggplant roasted by Danitz.
“Go find Frank for a bottle of potion.”
Gehrman walked past Quinn, who looked like he had been cooked, and slowly returned to his room.
Quinn stood in the corridor and only recovered his senses after a long time.
“Tai cao le (Too messed up)…”
Quinn unconsciously cursed in Chinese.
Cattleya stood in the captain’s cabin. The glass porthole in front of her was covered with starlight, reflecting the image of the corridor, where Quinn and Klein’s figures were clearly visible.
The previous scene replayed repeatedly. Cattleya watched quietly. Slowly, she reached up and covered her face.
“Heh heh heh…”
…
After a while, the Future, having rested and refueled, hoisted its sails again, cutting through the waves and leaving the Mother Earth Goddess’s domain of divine power.
Quinn, fully recovered, stared blankly at the sea, absentmindedly playing with his hair. He wrapped strands of hair in circles around his knuckles, gave a light tug, and the hair broke off in his palm.
“Hmph…”
He casually tossed it. The lush green hair floated into the water, dissolving into a pool of pus. Before long, a large patch of fish floated to the surface belly-up.
Suddenly, an ethereal song drifted faintly from the distance over the sea. The melody was graceful and moving, yet carried a soul-stirring temptation, as if it could ignite the most primitive fantasies in one’s heart.
Quinn propped his head on one hand and raised an eyebrow: “Mermaids?”
“!” On the deck not far away, Gehrman, who had changed clothes, looked up, seemingly a little excited. He quickly walked back to his room, presumably to do something.
Quinn watched him return to his cabin curiously but was too prideful to follow and ask.
Suddenly, he had a great idea.
“Hi…”
Quinn suddenly shouted towards the direction of the singing, while simultaneously transmitting a gentle affinity.
“…” The singing in the distance abruptly stopped. Intermittent, fragmented sounds carried on the sea breeze, seeming to chirp and communicate something.
Then came the sounds of splashing water, as if they had run away in a panic.
Not long after, a wet little head suddenly emerged from the sea water near the Future’s hull. It was a young Little Mermaid. She looked like a human girl of about thirteen or fourteen but was even cuter.
Quinn happily waved at her. The Little Mermaid imitated him, shaking her small hand above the sea surface and giving Quinn a sweet smile, revealing a mouthful of underdeveloped, tiny sharp teeth.
She’s so cute… Quinn clutched his chest, feeling as if the Fallen Mother Goddess was bumping around inside.
Before Quinn could speak again, the Little Mermaid flicked her tail and dove into the sea.
In a moment, Gehrman, who was missing one glove, slowly walked back onto the deck, seemingly watching the distant sea breeze and waves with composure.
Quinn da-da-da ran up beside him and pretended to be surprised: “Gehrman! I just heard the Mermaids’ singing!”
Before he could answer, Quinn lamented to himself, “Too bad, as soon as I shouted, they all seemed to run away!”
Gehrman’s body stiffened.
“Fortunately, we can see them again…” Quinn continued with a cheerful smile.
Gehrman seemed to find leaning against the railing uncomfortable and slowly changed his posture.
“Just use my ‘Druid’s’ pure natural affinity. No need to shout; they’ll come over by themselves!”
Quinn smoothly ran a hand through his hair, facing the sea breeze proudly, feeling like he had successfully teased Gehrman back.
As Quinn was pleasantly eating the wind, Gehrman spoke calmly: “Go with me later.”
“Huh?”
Quinn was stunned again.
