Making Three Heartless Woman Go Crazy for Me - Chapter 19
As Qi Lanshi savored her exquisite breakfast, she suddenly recalled Luan Hua’s words from the previous day: “I’ve already taken care of everything.”
At the time, she had no idea Luan Hua would handle things so thoroughly, completely clearing out everyone.
“This move… it actually exceeded my expectations,” Qi Lanshi murmured to herself. “It’s almost… impressive.”
She had assumed Luan Hua would act as she had before—seeming like a domineering CEO but ultimately taking a soft approach, leaving Qi Lanshi to resolve the situation and achieve their final goal.
“But this is too easy! Wasn’t this supposed to be a key plot point you guys had planned? You’ve replaced everyone so quickly. How’s the story supposed to develop now?”
Unless Luan Hua’s two rounds of hires were all utterly brainless and arrogant, driven mad by some irrational vendetta against Qi Lanshi.
Based on Qi Lanshi’s observations of the game, such a ludicrous scenario seemed unlikely. Even the basic NPCs in this game exhibited more rational behavior than this meticulously crafted CEO character.
Just as the System had explained, the NPCs were derived from public data, requiring no manual editing or programming. This made them appear remarkably normal.
A normal person, upon learning why their predecessor had been fired, would do everything possible to avoid making the same mistakes. The current NPCs were no different.
Their attitude toward Qi Lanshi could only be described as utterly respectful, making Qi Lanshi feel somewhat embarrassed.
“Sigh, no more mischief,” Qi Lanshi sighed, feeling a pang of regret. She picked up her tablet and went inside to study.
This game was turning out to be far too wholesome for her liking.
Back at the company, Luan Hua had flown back on short notice after receiving Gu Jingshu’s message, leaving a mountain of urgent work piled up on her desk.
She had left at four or five in the morning, and by the time she finished her tasks, it was already noon.
She paused her typing, massaging her wrist to relieve the strain, and slowly exhaled a breath of stale air. Then she opened the home surveillance app.
Qi Lanshi was diligently attending her online class, her eyes shining with earnest concentration.
Seeing Qi Lanshi’s demeanor, Luan Hua felt a slight sense of relief. She reviewed the earlier surveillance footage, noticing Qi Lanshi’s bewildered expression as she faced the newly arrived maids, a mix of confusion and a hint of regret.
Though Luan Hua couldn’t fathom what Qi Lanshi might be regretting, she sensed the woman was definitely plotting something sinister.
“Really…” Luan Hua chuckled softly and closed the video.
She had no intention of spying further; confirming Qi Lanshi remained within her control was enough.
Glancing at the time, Luan Hua realized she had only fifteen minutes left of her break. Just as she was about to resume work, her phone rang.
The call was to her private number. She glanced at the screen casually and answered without much thought.
“Who is this?” Luan Hua asked, her gaze fixed on the documents on her computer screen.
Instead of answering immediately, the caller remained silent, the only sound a faint breathing.
Luan Hua patiently waited for about thirty seconds before her patience ran out. She was about to hang up when the person on the other end finally spoke.
“It’s me,” the voice said. “Don’t you remember me, Luan Hua?”
“I’m Bai Jiao.”
Luan Hua froze.
The moment she heard Bai Jiao’s voice, her scalp prickled as if it were about to explode. A shudder shot up her spine, jolting her awake, followed by a numbing sensation that surged through her heart.
It was Bai Jiao—the White Moonlight she hadn’t been able to reach for years, the person she had sworn never to forget, the one whose corner in her heart she had reserved for life.
For several seconds, Luan Hua’s mind went completely blank. She couldn’t think of anything, didn’t know how to react, only one thought circling endlessly in her mind:
This is Bai Jiao. My beloved. My White Moonlight. The person I truly love.
Her heart pounded in her chest. Memories she thought she had buried and forgotten, like an old film replaying in her mind, triggered by some hidden switch.
“You…” Luan Hua began, but she suddenly realized how awful her voice sounded. “Are you back?”
“Yes, my flight arrives tomorrow. Could you pick me up?” Bai Jiao’s voice was ethereal and gentle. “It’s been so long since I’ve been home. Everything feels so unfamiliar. When I reactivated my old phone number, you were the first person I thought of, so I reached out.”
“So… could you pick me up?”
Luan Hua had no reason or need to refuse. “Of course.”
Meanwhile, Qi Lanshi remained oblivious to the plot reaching a new turning point. She was completely immersed in her studies, utterly absorbed.
It wasn’t until Luan Hua appeared behind her, casting a shadow that blocked her light source, that she finally looked up. Her gaze flickered toward Luan Hua, her eyes radiating clear disdain.
Yet her words were surprisingly gentle, delivered in a soft, delicate voice: “When did you get back?”
To an outsider, this casual exchange might seem like a genuine lovers’ conversation, the kind where partners inquire about each other’s daily lives and plans.
Luan Hua inwardly scoffed at Qi Lanshi’s insincere concern, but she casually replied, “Just now.”
“Oh,” Qi Lanshi nodded. “Do you need something? If not, could you please move? I haven’t finished my online class yet.”
Luan Hua took a step back, instinctively about to say, Then you go ahead and finish, but before the words left her lips, she realized something was off.
Qi Lanshi’s attitude was far too natural, almost commanding. Anyone listening would think she was the true mistress of the house.
Her voice turned cold. “Whether I need something or not, you have a duty to keep me company. Do you think you can just do whatever you want, whenever you want?”
“But… I’m studying! Didn’t you say studying is the most important thing? Why are you interrupting me?” Qi Lanshi frowned, her face etched with genuine confusion, as if she truly couldn’t understand.
Luan Hua: “……”
She took a deep breath, momentarily at a loss for a retort. Instead, she abruptly changed the subject. “Tomorrow, stay in the attic. There’s no need to come down unless you have a reason.”
Without hesitation, Qi Lanshi replied, “Okay.”
Luan Hua had achieved her goal, but Qi Lanshi’s compliant attitude left her feeling strangely dissatisfied.
“Even if something comes up, you’re not to come down. Without my permission, you’re not to go anywhere. No free time, understand?”
Qi Lanshi remained unmoved. “That’s fine. I have things to do anyway. If it’s inconvenient, I can stay out all day and not come back.”
As she spoke, her gaze remained fixed on the online lecture, but her mind had already shifted elsewhere. She activated the Dating Card she had pulled from her backpack.
The Dating Card would trigger a scripted scenario, forcibly executed by the System. After the scenario concluded, regardless of what transpired, Luan Hua would be compelled to go on a date with the player.
Given Luan Hua’s sudden change in attitude, Qi Lanshi reasonably deduced that her White Moonlight had returned. Luan Hua was likely going to pick her up and even bring her home, hence the need for Qi Lanshi, the substitute, to stay out of the way.
In theory, the White Moonlight shouldn’t have appeared so early. It seemed the mansion’s staff had been purged too thoroughly, failing to fulfill their intended roles, forcing the White Moonlight to start working ahead of schedule.
Regardless of the actual reason, Qi Lanshi, with her rebellious spirit, would only feign compliance while remaining inwardly defiant.
She even planned to use the System’s forced Dating Card to see what choice Luan Hua would make when caught between the White Moonlight and the System’s demands.
“Are you daydreaming? What are you thinking about?” Luan Hua asked, tilting Qi Lanshi’s chin up.
“Do I have to tell you everything I’m thinking? Do you want to control even my thoughts?” Qi Lanshi’s calm, detached eyes held a hint of resignation. “If you’re so dissatisfied with me, you don’t have to torment yourself by keeping me here. You can just let me go back to my dorm.”
Just as she finished speaking, a WeChat notification popped up—unfortunately, it was from Gu Jingshu.
Gu Jingshu reasonably suspected she was being used as a pawn. Having seen none of the drama she’d hoped for, she sent Qi Lanshi a message to subtly probe for information.
But at this precise moment, the message was like a spark to Luan Hua’s fury.
“Go back to your dorm?” Luan Hua retorted coldly. “So you can go find that new sugar daddy you’ve been searching for, is that it?”
“You—”
Before Qi Lanshi could finish her sentence, the System’s prompt appeared:
Dating Card activated. Players must escape the courtyard within one minute to trigger the next plot event.
Qi Lanshi: “……”
At that moment, all she wanted to say was, “Dude, are you okay?”
What kind of plot requires someone to suddenly rush out? Is this some kind of madness?
But the card had already been used. If she didn’t cooperate, what if she failed? Besides… acting was a piece of cake for Qi Lanshi.
She swallowed the second half of her carefully prepared line. Though her expression barely changed, she shifted from nonchalant to defiant, her face radiating humiliation.
“Do you really need to humiliate me to feel happy?” she retorted.
“Is this what you call humiliation?” Luan Hua sneered. “How can you be so fierce, yet still become my lover, sleeping in my bed?”
Slap!
Before Luan Hua could finish speaking, Qi Lanshi’s hand lashed out, striking her across the face.
She held nothing back, leaving half of Luan Hua’s face swollen and red. Lifting her chin slightly, Qi Lanshi gritted her teeth and said in a trembling voice, “Luan Hua, you’re disgusting!”
Without another word, she stormed out of the room.
The moment she crossed the threshold, a thunderclap split the sky, followed by a torrential downpour.
System:Â Please stand in the rain for three minutes to trigger the illness and hospitalization plot, completing your date with Luan Hua.
Qi Lanshi: “……”
I let my guard down. I really shouldn’t have trusted the System.
