Making Three Heartless Woman Go Crazy for Me - Chapter 22
Qi Lanshi had assumed that after yesterday’s hospital game, Luan Hua would need some mental preparation before facing her again. She never imagined that Luan Hua wouldn’t need any at all. That very day, the secretary arrived to take her back.
Qi Lanshi’s reaction was: “……”
She had underestimated the CEO’s mental fortitude. Luan Hua’s resolve was truly ironclad.
On the way, she casually asked the secretary, “Why is it always you who has to resolve these inexplicable conflicts between Luan Hua and me? Does this count as overtime?”
The secretary smiled politely. “Of course not. But the Boss was worried that if anyone else came to pick you up, Miss Qi, you might not cooperate. So I was the only option.”
Qi Lanshi raised an eyebrow. “Is it because Luan Hua doesn’t have anyone under her who meets my aesthetic standards better than you? Is that why she keeps assigning these tasks to you?”
The secretary paused, momentarily taken aback.
“Just kidding,” Qi Lanshi said with a gentle smile. “Though it’s true, you are very beautiful.”
The person who truly met Qi Lanshi’s aesthetic standards was still Luan Hua.
Well, not entirely. All three character models in this game were right up her alley.
“I know you’re just joking, Miss Qi, but…” The secretary’s tone was carefully measured as she settled into the car. “I’m just an employee, and I need to maintain professional boundaries.”
“I understand. I wouldn’t want to put you in an awkward position,” Qi Lanshi sighed, leaning back in her seat. “After all, why should one worker make things difficult for another?”
Qi Lanshi’s attitude was casual and dismissive, clearly showing she wasn’t taking anything seriously. If she said it was just a private joke between them, then in her mind, it truly was nothing more than a casual remark.
The secretary glanced at her out of the corner of her eye, noticing Qi Lanshi idly twirling strands of hair around her finger. She seemed genuinely cheerful, but her emotions were so faint, even her joy felt fleeting.
Many times, the secretary had the impression that Qi Lanshi approached Luan Hua with the same detached indifference. Though she appeared to be in a subordinate position, the oppressed party who had even made dramatic scenes and attempted suicide multiple times, mentally and psychologically, Qi Lanshi was the one setting the rhythm.
As for her boss, she remained completely oblivious to the profound, subtle influence Qi Lanshi was exerting on her.
“Watching me?” Qi Lanshi suddenly looked up, offering the secretary a gentle smile. “You seem quite curious. If there’s anything you want to know, feel free to ask. I’ll answer what I can. It’s no trouble at all.”
The secretary’s heart pounded twice in her chest as their eyes met. Even when dealing with the most difficult clients, she had never felt such intense panic.
“No,” the secretary replied. “There’s nothing I want to know.”
Qi Lanshi chuckled softly, offering no further response.
Viewers familiar with her tactics were already buzzing in the bullet comments:
Lanlan’s about to infiltrate the enemy’s ranks again.
Look at Lanlan’s gaze just now! Who wouldn’t be mesmerized? Can you blame the secretary?
This woman is unleashing her damn, irresistible charm again!
Only after seeing the bullet comments did the System belatedly realize Qi Lanshi was seducing the secretary—though not for romantic purposes.
It wanted to press further, but fearing it might seem too concerned and noticing Qi Lanshi’s perfectly normal demeanor, it swallowed its questions.
In the silence, Qi Lanshi suddenly asked, “By the way, should I sneak in through the back door later? Or pretend to be a servant and sneak upstairs after Miss White Moonlight falls asleep?”
The secretary stared, dumbfounded. “Neither is necessary,” she replied. “Why would Miss Qi think that?”
“Isn’t it obvious? The real White Moonlight is back. As her substitute, I should naturally stay out of sight. What if she sees me? It would bring her bad luck!”
The secretary’s lips moved, but she struggled to explain Luan Hua’s actions. She could only manage a pale, “The Boss hasn’t requested that. Miss Qi needn’t worry.”
“So, there’s a chance I might actually meet the real White Moonlight?” Qi Lanshi’s eyes lit up instantly. “Tell me, what’s she like? How similar are we?”
The secretary: “……”
This was clearly a conversation she couldn’t participate in, so she chose to respond with silence.
Fortunately, they finally arrived at the Luan Family estate, marking the end of her mission and freeing her from further entanglement with Qi Lanshi.
Just as she was about to get out of the car, the secretary unconsciously let out a sigh of relief. As she prepared to drive away, she noticed Qi Lanshi standing nearby, smiling and waving goodbye.
After a brief internal struggle, the secretary rolled down her window and said, “Miss Bai isn’t at the estate right now. Miss Qi, you should simply return to your room and avoid causing any unnecessary trouble.”
“Oh, is that so? What a pity. But thank you anyway,” Qi Lanshi replied cheerfully, waving back. “We’ve known each other for so long now. Could you please stop calling me ‘Miss Qi’ next time?”
Without waiting for a response, she turned and walked away.
The secretary heard the car remain stationary for a long moment before finally starting up and driving off.
Qi Lanshi sighed inwardly, “Just as I thought. Without the interference of brain-dead drama tropes, winning over a character is still quite simple. The more normal a person is, the easier they are to win over.”
After greeting each of the new maids in the mansion, Qi Lanshi was about to head to her room when she suddenly heard the sound of a car engine.
She turned to see a woman in a white dress step out of the car, books in her arms. Her demeanor was serene, her expression gentle, and even the way the breeze lifted her hair seemed beautiful. She smiled softly as she thanked a maid who offered to carry her things, her every gesture radiating warmth and charm.
Qi Lanshi watched her intently.
“So that’s how I looked just now,” she mused. “Not bad, actually quite pretty.”
Her curiosity piqued, she asked the System, “Does every White Moonlight’s appearance adapt to the player’s real-life appearance? That’s incredibly advanced! How much processing power does that require?”
That’s the current design, but the game is still in closed beta. It’s possible the appearance will be fixed later.
Qi Lanshi nodded in understanding. As she looked up, her eyes met the White Moonlight’s gaze.
“Hello,” she said preemptively. “You’re very beautiful.”
The secretary had specifically warned her about this, yet the White Moonlight had still come. This meant she already knew of Qi Lanshi’s existence and had come specifically to meet her.
She had to strike first, seizing the initiative before her opponent could gain the upper hand.
Praising White Moonlight’s beauty, given their strikingly similar faces, felt utterly shameless.
White Moonlight clearly recognized this too. Her usually flawless expression froze for a moment before she composed herself, replying gently, “Thank you for the compliment. You’re beautiful as well.”
Qi Lanshi: “Indeed.”
Bai Jiao: “…?”
Who was it who’d been typing away on a friend’s laptop, only for the System to crash, forcing a reinstall and losing all their work, still scrambling to catch up on updates at 2 AM?
Oh, right. It was me.
Never mind then.
It’s just a draft, after all. Who hasn’t lost one? So what if it’s gone? I don’t care at all.
