Making Three Heartless Woman Go Crazy for Me - Chapter 27
Qi Lanshi’s victory was absolute, a bloodless triumph.
The moment she ran outside, her tears stopped. She wiped away the lingering dampness and pondered whether to slow down and wait for Luan Hua to catch up, or find a good spot to catch the breeze, like the rooftop.
The System advises you to immediately return to the mansion, pack your belongings, and leave to demonstrate your unwavering resolve.
After all, you’re a stubborn, strong-willed girl with unyielding pride. How could you possibly remain in this humiliating place, a constant reminder of your unjust suffering?
Qi Lanshi: “……”
She patiently explained, “First, I didn’t ask for your advice. Second, even though I was framed, Bai Jiao was the one who lost. Why should I leave?”
Bai Jiao had sacrificed a Mona Lisa to prove that, in Luan Hua’s heart, Qi Lanshi’s status had unknowingly risen to great heights.
“Do you know why Bai Jiao lost?” Qi Lanshi chuckled softly. “Because the power of the White Moonlight lies in the fact that even the White Moonlight herself, upon returning, can never surpass the idealized image in memory.”
Only a dead White Moonlight remains eternally beyond reproach, forever untouchable.
Bai Jiao lost because she was still alive.
“You guys really don’t understand the formula for this game,” Qi Lanshi said, glancing at the time. Deciding not to run anymore, she gave Luan Hua a chance to catch up.
The brief exchange with the System had given Luan Hua enough time to catch up.
As she wandered aimlessly forward, Luan Hua’s call came within minutes. “Where are you?”
Luan Hua’s voice was clearly anxious. Qi Lanshi replied casually, “I’m not sure.”
She genuinely didn’t know. She hadn’t explored much of the game world, and this was her first time near the Art Exhibition. A few more steps and she’d be completely lost.
Hearing her calm tone, with no hint of suicidal thoughts, Luan Hua finally let out a slight sigh of relief. “Describe your surroundings. I’ll come find you.”
“There’s a building, some trees, and a road,” Qi Lanshi said with a straight face. “Oh, and lots of people. Oh, and I’m standing under a cloud waiting for you.”
Luan Hua: “……”
Listen to her! She said all that and not a single coherent sentence.
In the end, Luan Hua still found her, thanks to her bodyguards and the fact that Qi Lanshi hadn’t gone far.
The moment she was surrounded by bodyguards, Qi Lanshi clearly saw people around her pulling out their phones, seemingly to call the police.
Qi Lanshi couldn’t help but sigh. This world still has so many good people, she thought. Even those outside the plot are so normal, willing to stand up for what’s right.
But she couldn’t let them call the police. After all, she wasn’t exactly a saint herself.
Just as she was about to offer a brief explanation, Luan Hua, who had rushed over, spoke first: “Can you stop running off every time you get angry? Do you know how much trouble it is to find you?”
“You don’t have to look for me,” Qi Lanshi retorted, staring at her with a bewildered expression. “Miss Bai is still crying, isn’t she? Why aren’t you comforting her? She’s more fragile and needs you more. You should go to her.”
Hearing this, the onlookers immediately understood: Just a couple’s quarrel. Nothing to see here.
Luan Hua remained unaware that a conflict and potential trouble had been averted in a corner she hadn’t even noticed.
Qi Lanshi felt utterly exhausted. Dealing with someone as dense as Luan Hua, she still had to resolve problems behind her back.
In the end, she bore the entire burden alone.
Luan Hua sighed. “Stop talking nonsense and come back with me. I’ll investigate the truth and clear up this misunderstanding between you.”
Qi Lanshi was somewhat impressed.
Luan Hua neither doubted her nor disbelieved Bai Jiao. She firmly believed it was all a misunderstanding, rather than a conflict between a substitute and the White Moonlight.
“I’ll go back with you, but Luan Hua, I have a question for you.” Qi Lanshi stepped closer, tilting her head. “Everyone present today knew I was Bai Jiao’s substitute. So Bai Jiao herself must know, right?”
Luan Hua’s answer was remarkably blunt: “Perhaps. I never asked her.”
Qi Lanshi burst out laughing.
Luan Hua had her own peculiar logic when it came to matters of the heart. Qi Lanshi even suspected that Luan Hua hadn’t loved Bai Jiao as a person, but rather the idealized savior she had conjured in her own mind.
This savior had appeared at the scene of the car accident, reaching out to her in her moment of despair. Luan Hua had poured all her beautiful fantasies into that outstretched hand.
It was like giving Bai Jiao a magnificent gown without ever considering whether it would fit her properly.
Qi Lanshi’s laughter left Luan Hua utterly bewildered, but after a moment’s thought, she decided not to press the matter.
Qi Lanshi rarely showed such genuine joy in Luan Hua’s presence. Even without knowing the reason for her laughter, Luan Hua didn’t want to interrupt.
“I’m fine now. Let’s go back,” Qi Lanshi said, her mood visibly brightened. “You can investigate the truth yourself. Knowing you believe me is enough.”
These words made Luan Hua’s heart swell uncontrollably. “Really? Does my trust mean that much to you?”
“Yes,” Qi Lanshi replied, narrowing her eyes slightly. “I despise being wrongly accused more than anything. So, your willingness to believe me makes me very happy.”
Hearing this, Luan Hua finally felt that chasing after Qi Lanshi hadn’t been in vain.
“Let’s go home,” she said, smiling.
The two returned to the mansion together, but Bai Jiao didn’t receive the same treatment. She had to come back on her own, the only consolation being the driver Luan Hua had left for her.
By the time Bai Jiao arrived, Qi Lanshi had already retired to the master bedroom to rest. Luan Hua was waiting for her in the living room.
Before returning to China, Bai Jiao had been supremely confident in her plan. While she might have doubted her control over others, she was certain of Luan Hua’s feelings for her.
Luan Hua had loved her since long ago, and that affection had never wavered over the years.
In matters of the heart, Luan Hua was astonishingly stubborn. Despite Bai Jiao’s complete lack of reciprocation over the years, she had steadfastly maintained her affection, her emails never ceasing.
Until Qi Lanshi appeared.
Initially, Bai Jiao dismissed this woman. A substitute was merely a substitute; how could a firefly hope to outshine the sun and moon? Now that she had returned, the substitute would inevitably fade into obscurity.
But after meeting Qi Lanshi, Bai Jiao’s confidence shattered.
“You’re back,” Luan Hua said, rising to greet her. “I’ve already sent your painting for restoration. I’m sorry, the surveillance system malfunctioned and couldn’t be repaired, so I couldn’t determine how the painting was damaged.”
She made no mention of Qi Lanshi.
Bai Jiao lifted her chin, took a deep breath, and asked, “Did you send it for fingerprint analysis? Were Miss Qi’s fingerprints found?”
“Yes,” Luan Hua replied bluntly. “That only proves she touched the painting, nothing more.”
“Luan Hua, do you even realize how biased you are?” Bai Jiao rubbed her temples. “I’m sorry to have disturbed you. I haven’t found a place to stay yet, but I’ll move out tomorrow.”
“Why?” Luan Hua asked, her face utterly bewildered.
“You…” Bai Jiao felt it was nearly impossible to communicate with Luan Hua. She wondered how Qi Lanshi could tolerate her. “After such a major conflict with your girlfriend, do you really think it’s appropriate for me to stay in your house?”
Luan Hua’s eyes widened slightly. “But…”
“What? You don’t consider her your girlfriend?” Bai Jiao countered. “Then what is Miss Qi to you? And what am I?”
Luan Hua fell silent.
She realized she couldn’t answer these questions at all. The questions made her feel pale and awkward.
Without waiting for a response, Bai Jiao retreated to her room.
Luan Hua sat alone in the living room for a long time, feeling utterly lost. Her mind was a chaotic mess, her brain buzzing in waves that gave her a splitting headache.
A voice told her she loved Bai Jiao, that Bai Jiao was the only anchor for her emotions.
The heavy rain, the car accident, the hand reaching out in the darkness—had she forgotten all that?
But the louder this voice grew, the more she… wanted to see Qi Lanshi.
In the master bedroom, Qi Lanshi was on the verge of falling asleep when the door suddenly swung open. Startled, she initially planned to roll over and continue sleeping.
But Luan Hua seemed determined not to let her rest. She wrapped her arms around Qi Lanshi’s waist, burying her face in her neck, her breathing ragged and rapid, as if she were enduring unbearable pain.
Her condition was clearly abnormal. Qi Lanshi forced herself to turn around, cupping Luan Hua’s face and tilting her head up. “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
“No,” Luan Hua gritted her teeth, her pale lips pressing against Qi Lanshi’s chin. “I’m fine.”
Still concerned, Qi Lanshi touched her forehead. “Do you have a fever?”
“I’m really okay.” Luan Hua looked up, her forehead slick with cold sweat, her eyes glistening with moisture.
Qi Lanshi couldn’t bear that look in her eyes.
In that instant, Qi Lanshi’s mind began to cloud. The hand that had been stroking Luan Hua’s forehead drifted down, lingering over her cheek before settling on her pale lips. She kneaded them gently, coaxing their color back to a vibrant red.
Luan Hua’s breathing grew heavier, and she unconsciously tightened her grip on Qi Lanshi’s wrist, pressing her fingers against the seam of her lips. The warmth of her mouth enveloped Qi Lanshi’s fingertips.
“Maybe you really don’t have a fever,” Qi Lanshi chuckled. “You’re just… a little hot.”
The buzzing in Luan Hua’s head suddenly dissipated. Following Qi Lanshi’s movements, she rolled over, her knees pressing into the soft mattress, her slender waist arching into a supple, beautiful curve.
“So beautiful,” Qi Lanshi murmured, never sparing her praise in such moments. She placed her hand on the small of Luan Hua’s back.
Luan Hua felt as if all her senses were directly connected to Qi Lanshi. She tried to turn her head to see Qi Lanshi’s expression, but was met with a passionate kiss.
The kiss was lingering and intense. Luan Hua clung to Qi Lanshi’s shoulders, tears spilling from the corners of her eyes.
Her reaction surprised even Qi Lanshi.
“Look at me.” Qi Lanshi threaded her fingers through Luan Hua’s hair, using a slight pinch to bring her back to focus.
“You’re upset. Why?”
