Making Three Heartless Woman Go Crazy for Me - Chapter 30
Qi Lanshi reasonably guessed that Luan Hua’s family had accumulated their initial wealth through extreme frugality.
When she was picked up at mealtime and saw the restaurant, she had assumed she would get a free meal. But to her surprise, all that was placed before her was chrysanthemum tea.
This is too cruel! The treatment in this game is truly appalling.
“I’m definitely giving you guys a bad review,” Qi Lanshi declared.
The System immediately popped up: Â Is not getting a meal really that serious? Is that enough for a bad review?Â
“Not exactly. The main problem is… your game development team makes me feel deeply uncomfortable,” Qi Lanshi said calmly. “Bai Jiao’s portrayal as the ‘White Moonlight’ is completely different from what I imagined. I thought she’d be a proud, self-assured woman, but ever since she returned to the country, she’s been desperately chasing after Luan Hua.”
“And failing miserably at it.”
Qi Lanshi found it somewhat amusing. “Do you really think that degrading the ‘White Moonlight’ will enhance Luan Hua’s feelings for the player?”
“Don’t be naive. It only undermines Luan Hua’s character. If she considers such a pathetic woman her ‘White Moonlight,’ what kind of person could she possibly be herself?”
Qi Lanshi’s words silenced the System.
But she wasn’t finished. Smiling, she continued, “And you even made Luan Hua’s mother the stereotypical evil mother-in-law, having her say things like ‘I hate smart women.’ In your world, anyone who opposes the main romance is automatically a villain, deserving of scorn.”
“Madam Luan may have spouted misogynistic nonsense, but I don’t hate her. She’s just an NPC. My hatred is reserved for the writers and planners who programmed her with such toxic beliefs.”
“Similarly, while Bai Jiao’s petty schemes are rather low-class, I won’t hold a grudge against her either. She’s just an NPC.”
“This game has irritated me since its story was set as a CEO’s contract mistress. Why would you cram such a dated, misogynistic trope into a modern Lily game? Your development team must be out of their minds.”
“The misogyny isn’t coming from Madam Luan or Bai Jiao—it’s coming from you.”
If it weren’t for the money, even if Luan Hua’s character design perfectly matched Qi Lanshi’s preferences, she wouldn’t have bothered playing.
She’d sacrificed far too much for these measly rewards!
“Why have you gone silent?” Qi Lanshi asked. “Did my words strike you like a thunderclap?”
I’m compiling your feedback into text and audio files to email to Headquarters.
Your perspective is unique, and I believe it’s worth considering.
Qi Lanshi hadn’t expected the System to react this way. She raised an eyebrow, a suspicion forming in her mind, but kept it to herself.
She had long suspected the System was too intelligent, its dialogues often mirroring human thought patterns. Now it seemed… this System was likely controlled by a real person.
Qi Lanshi had previously wondered why this game had been given to her. As a romance streamer, she wasn’t particularly famous. Yet she had been chosen for the Closed Beta of such a meticulously crafted game.
Not only had she received the game, but also a Holographic Pod and a substantial sum of money upon completion.
These signs all pointed to one conclusion: the game developers desperately wanted her to play, so much so that they feared she might refuse.
Qi Lanshi considered herself an ordinary person, lacking any qualities that would make a major corporation take notice. Though she had sensed something was off, she hadn’t given it much thought until today…
She didn’t want to think about it too deeply today.
Surviving another day was already a victory. The world’s destruction had nothing to do with her. Who cared what the game developers were planning? At worst, they’d just take her life.
Compared to those brain-splitting worries, she was far more concerned about why Luan Hua hadn’t arrived yet. She was starving!
If this kept up, she was going to get angry!
“I asked you to send me your location, but you refused. Now you’re sulking?” Luan Hua spotted Qi Lanshi’s sour expression before even getting out of the car.
It was strange, but she could just tell that Qi Lanshi wasn’t angry at her mother—she was angry at her.
Luan Hua hurried out of the car. “Let’s go. Order whatever you want.”
Qi Lanshi didn’t move. “Still this restaurant? Your mother doesn’t seem to have left yet.”
“So what?” Luan Hua retorted. “If she won’t order for you, does that mean I can’t take you out to eat?”
Qi Lanshi understood: Luan Hua was doing this on purpose. Whether they ran into Madam Luan or not, news of this would definitely reach her ears.
Luan Hua herself obviously didn’t care about such things. She was standing up for Qi Lanshi’s dignity.
To be honest, Luan Hua’s current attitude had significantly improved Qi Lanshi’s mood, but she still didn’t move.
She wasn’t finished yet.
“I don’t think it’s appropriate. Once I go in there, my reputation will never be clean again. I’m living off the money of working-class people while being branded as a fox spirit. I won’t do it.”
Luan Hua stood patiently beside her at the entrance. “Check your account balance.”
Qi Lanshi opened the app and glanced at it casually at first, then her eyes widened slightly.
Wow, so many zeros!
“How about now? Is it acceptable?” Luan Hua smiled. “Next time Gu Jingzhu tries to show off with her measly ten or twenty thousand, tell her to stay home and avoid embarrassing herself.”
She’s even learned to play the comparison game now.
Staring at the seven-figure sum, Qi Lanshi couldn’t help but think: Thank goodness this is just a game. If I met someone like Luan Hua in real life, it would be hard not to fall for her.
When Luan Hua was being her usual goofy self, she was truly hopeless. But when she finally wised up and started wielding her financial power, the results were extraordinary.
“Then let’s go eat,” Qi Lanshi said, her mood considerably lighter as she followed Luan Hua into the restaurant.
Whether intentional or not, Luan Hua had chosen a private room directly across from Madam Luan’s.
After they were seated, Qi Lanshi and Luan Hua each ordered their meals. While they waited, Luan Hua tapped on her phone, and a secretary soon entered, carrying a box.
The secretary set the box down and left, her demeanor and actions appearing perfectly normal. But… she deliberately avoided eye contact with Qi Lanshi throughout the entire exchange.
Her forced avoidance only highlighted her concern.
Qi Lanshi pretended not to notice and asked Luan Hua, “What’s this?”
“A gift,” Luan Hua said, pushing the box toward her. “A little lover shouldn’t just have money; she should also receive gifts. Open it and see.”
Look at her, now that she’s finally figured things out, she’s completely different, Qi Lanshi marveled inwardly to the System as she opened the box.
One glance, and she froze.
Inside the box was a cemetery plot purchase agreement.
Luan Hua asked casually, “I picked it out carefully. The feng shui and environment are excellent. What do you think? Do you like it?”
Qi Lanshi was speechless.
The cemetery plot was exactly what she had asked for, and Luan Hua had indeed chosen it with care, just as she had promised.
But what normal person would present a cemetery plot purchase agreement as a gift at the dinner table?
For a moment, Qi Lanshi couldn’t tell if she was the one with the problem, or if Luan Hua was the one who was off.
Perhaps the truth is that both of you have issues?  the System suggested.
Qi Lanshi fell silent for a moment, then told the System to shut up.
She closed the box, nodded, and smiled. “It’s lovely. I’ll find some time to go deliver it and check out the surroundings.”
Though her smile seemed genuine, Luan Hua couldn’t shake the feeling that Qi Lanshi wasn’t as happy as she appeared—or perhaps… she wasn’t happy at all.
So difficult to please, Luan Hua thought.
However, Qi Lanshi’s enigmatic displeasure soon dissipated. The restaurant’s food was truly delicious, and she held great respect for food. Good meals had a way of healing most of her negative emotions.
After all, during her childhood, she had wandered from relative to relative, grateful for any scrap of food. She had never had the luxury of being picky.
After the meal, Qi Lanshi returned to school for her afternoon classes, with Luan Hua driving her back.
Before getting out of the car, Luan Hua took her hand. “I’m sorry my mother disturbed you today. It won’t happen again. From now on, I’ll have a driver pick you up and drop you off. You might also notice someone following you sometimes—don’t be alarmed, they’re bodyguards I’ve arranged.”
Qi Lanshi was slightly surprised.
A CEO apologizing was a rare occurrence, and Luan Hua’s apologies were even more perplexing. The last time she had apologized was after the banquet, when Qi Lanshi had thought their relationship was deepening. Yet the very next day, the woman had started acting like a madwoman.
