Making Three Heartless Woman Go Crazy for Me - Chapter 4
Being called a fake to her face didn’t faze Qi Lanshi. She leisurely finished dressing and retorted, “You get what you pay for, CEO Luan. If you want me to study the real thing, that’s a different price.”
Free substitute, and you still want more?
The rich were all like Harpagon—miserly, greedy, and insatiable.
“She’s not someone you’re worthy of emulating,” Luan Hua said, sizing Qi Lanshi up and down with undisguised contempt. “Sit down, eat, and keep quiet. Just smile.”
Only when Qi Lanshi smiled did her resemblance to the White Moonlight become so uncanny it was disorienting.
Fake smiles were Qi Lanshi’s specialty. After her parents died, she bounced between relatives’ homes, living as a dependent, like a beggar.
It was then she’d automatically unlocked the ability to fake smiles, simultaneously mastering the art of flattery and weaving elaborate lies without any formal training.
Yet Luan Hua couldn’t shake the feeling that Qi Lanshi’s expression was… off.
While the resemblance did intensify when Qi Lanshi smiled, it paradoxically created an even greater sense of distance. She was smiling, but her gaze remained aloof and cold, the warmth never reaching her eyes.
Luan Hua reached out and pinched Qi Lanshi’s chin. “Smile properly. I’m not paying you to make me miserable.”
If she hadn’t brought up the money, Qi Lanshi might have let it slide. But mentioning it only fueled her resentment.
What a shameless profiteer! Even with a free substitute, she still has the audacity to talk about money. Not only does she freeload, but she also tries to claim the moral high ground. What a shameless move!
Qi Lanshi didn’t even bother with a fake smile. “No,” she said coldly. “If CEO Luan’s standards are so high, why not just commission a 1:1 replica doll of your beloved? I’m not an actress; I can’t meet your demands.”
Luan Hua felt a vein twitch at her temple.
This woman is utterly useless, except for that face.
She snorted coldly. “Sharp-tongued.”
“That’s not all,” Qi Lanshi replied, her crimson lips curving into a genuine smile. “I’m also silver-tongued. CEO Luan should… know that very well by now.”
Luan Hua’s fingers tightened around her chopsticks.
From the very beginning, Qi Lanshi had taken being sold to Luan Hua in stride. She had haggled over the price and showed no psychological barriers, whether in bed or out.
Today, she had started undressing the moment she entered the private room and was now deliberately provoking her with her words.
This is a wicked woman.
Yet, this very woman possessed a face so strikingly similar to Luan Hua’s cherished ideal that the moment she saw Qi Lanshi’s face, she had suppressed her anger.
“Eat,” Luan Hua emphasized. “No talking. Eat quietly.”
She didn’t even get angry.
Qi Lanshi was slightly surprised but quickly understood.
Luan Hua only cared about the player’s face, which closely resembled her White Moonlight in the game’s settings. To her, this person was merely a vessel—one whose skin happened to be to her liking.
Perhaps this vessel felt a bit rough to the touch, but who would bother arguing with an inanimate object? As long as it looked good enough, that was all that mattered.
She wasn’t angry; she simply didn’t care.
Realizing this, Qi Lanshi’s rebellious spirit flared up again.
She asked earnestly, “This is my first time at such a fancy restaurant. Can I order for myself?”
The request wasn’t unreasonable, especially given her seemingly docile and obedient demeanor. This subtly triggered a sense of superiority in Luan Hua, who had been born with a silver spoon in her mouth—a feeling she herself didn’t even consciously recognize.
“What do you want to eat?” Luan Hua asked.
“Can I have tomato and egg stir-fry?”
Luan Hua: “……”
It had been a long time since she’d encountered someone who made her need to take a deep breath just to continue the conversation.
“No, we don’t have that,” Luan Hua replied, a vein throbbing at her temple.
“Then what about fish-fragrant shredded pork? Kung Pao chicken? Sweet and sour pork ribs or tomato beef brisket would also be fine.” Qi Lanshi’s eyes widened slightly, her tone incredulous. “Seriously? Not a single dish that goes well with rice? What kind of restaurant did you choose?”
“Shut up,” Luan Hua finally snapped. “You’ll eat whatever I order. You have no choice. Now shut up.”
Half an hour later, Qi Lanshi sighed as she stared at the rare steak.
She really couldn’t stand it, but after starving for so long, her tolerance for food was exceptionally high. She forced herself to finish it.
Luan Hua watched her eat the entire time.
Qi Lanshi was remarkably well-behaved while eating. It was clear she had deep respect for food, so even though she disliked the steak, she diligently finished every bite.
As she chewed, her eyes would narrow slightly, revealing a primal, animal-like pleasure. Though she lacked Western table manners, her eating habits were graceful and proper.
Luan Hua realized she’d been wrong. The most striking resemblance between Qi Lanshi and White Moonlight wasn’t their smiles, but these subtle, unconscious details.
Their eating habits were almost identical.
Satisfied with what she’d observed, Luan Hua clapped her hands. “It’s about time. I have a gift for you.”
Qi Lanshi’s eyes lit up at the mention of a gift.
Could it be that the shrewd businesswoman has finally realized her misdeeds and decided to give me some jewelry?
Even though the jewelry in the game was just data, having it was better than nothing. Otherwise, she’d feel like she was being taken advantage of, a total loss.
The booth door opened, and a secretary entered carrying a wooden box. She placed it on the table and retreated.
Luan Hua tilted her chin, gesturing with her eyes for Qi Lanshi to open the box.
The moment Qi Lanshi lifted the lid, her expression froze.
Luan Hua continued, “Don’t say I broke my promise. Isn’t this what you wanted?”
Inside the box lay Qi Feng’s hand, the one he used to play cards. The calloused fingertips looked disturbingly fresh.
Qi Lanshi’s stomach churned, but she forced herself to remain calm.
She smiled faintly. “Thank you, CEO Luan, but there’s no need to show me such filthy things, especially not on the dining table.”
The only mercy was that Luan Hua still possessed a shred of conscience. Had she presented the severed hand before the meal, Qi Lanshi might have quit the game on the spot.
Luan Hua scoffed. “Didn’t you ask for this yourself? What a nuisance.”
She glanced at her wristwatch. “Get up. Come with me.”
Qi Lanshi remained rooted to her seat, her brow furrowed in refusal. “It’s late. I need to return to the dormitory.”
Luan Hua frowned.
As a purchased pet, Qi Lanshi was far too disobedient.
What made it even more infuriating was that she displayed this defiance with a face that resembled Luan Hua’s heart’s moon.
“Do you think you have any room to negotiate with me?” Luan Hua felt like she’d heard a joke. She leaned down, caressing Qi Lanshi’s earlobe until the pale pink skin flushed crimson, as if a ruby had been embedded there. “Or perhaps you’re trying to assert your… dignity in front of me?”
Qi Lanshi’s earlobe stung from the pinching. Luan Hua’s gone mad, she thought bitterly.
She grasped Luan Hua’s hand, pressing her cheek against the palm. From this posture alone, she appeared utterly docile and obedient.
“Of course not,” she said. “The poor don’t deserve dignity. So-called dignity is merely a fig leaf for the lowly.”
The Celestial Dragons understood this better than anyone, didn’t they?
Luan Hua was living proof.
Even just wanting to return to her dorm, Qi Lanshi had to endure Luan Hua pinching her ear and belittling her.
But Qi Lanshi didn’t care. Every contemptuous remark Luan Hua hurled at her, every humiliation she inflicted on her dignity, would eventually boomerang back and strike Luan Hua herself.
“At least you have some self-awareness,” Luan Hua said, pleased with her response. “So, be a good girl, listen to me, and don’t make me angry again.”
Qi Lanshi nodded. “Okay.”
Yeah, right.
Qi Lanshi realized the game’s plot was developing at a breakneck pace. On the first day, she’d signed a brainless contract. The next day, she was juggling work-study with a dinner date with the CEO, and now this—a night out with Luan Hua.
Word of Luan Hua’s stand-in had already spread through her social circle. Everyone was eager to see just how similar Qi Lanshi was to the White Moonlight.
And so, Qi Lanshi was brought along like a monkey on display, paraded for the amusement of the crowd.
As she stepped into the private room, Qi Lanshi’s gaze swept across the room, and a classic meme flashed through her mind:
“So many people!”
