Making Three Heartless Woman Go Crazy for Me - Chapter 43
The flight was six hours long. How long would it take Luan Hua to catch up?
The answer was two hours. She caught up shortly after Qi Lanshi boarded the plane.
During those two hours, Qi Lanshi tried to communicate with Bai Jiao to enhance the game’s immersion. But Bai Jiao, still affected by their earlier conversation, refused to speak, no matter what Qi Lanshi asked.
Observing Bai Jiao’s rejection and resistance, Qi Lanshi thought to herself, “Just as I suspected. This must be the worst thing Bai Jiao has ever done. Her conscience is eating her alive; she can’t even bring herself to speak to me.”
The System remained silent, noticing the increasingly strange bullet comments in the livestream.
Some viewers were even starting to ship Bai Jiao and Qi Lanshi.
On the surface, Bai Jiao is the White Moonlight, but she’s actually dark. Meanwhile, Lanlan, who previously seemed like the villainous second lead from Bai Jiao’s perspective, is now the true White Moonlight.
LOLOLOL this is absurd! How is Lanlan anything like the White Moonlight? Her heart is pitch-black!
Actually, I was rooting for the White Moonlight x Substitute pairing from the start, but Bai Jiao was too pathetic to make it work.
Now it’s different! Shipping everything keeps my shipping diet balanced.
Think about it this way: if the Substitute ends up with the White Moonlight, wouldn’t that be a bad ending for the CEO too?
This line of reasoning was getting a little too creative.
With no one to talk to, Qi Lanshi found herself bored despite being kidnapped. Suddenly, an idea struck her, and she opened the System’s gacha page.
Excellent, two sets of ten pulls already accumulated, plus the previous ones—enough for a guaranteed pull. Her interest in the game was waning; if she didn’t pull now, when would she?
She tapped the pull button. A vast expanse of green light flashed, interspersed with streaks of purple. In the final moments of the draw, she finally saw the shimmering gold light.
Qi Lanshi’s interest surged. She clicked on the golden card, examining it intently, only to discover she had pulled a card… she couldn’t use.
A Marriage Contract Card.
As a Five-Star Card, its usage range was quite broad. The description specifically noted that if the player and Target already had a marriage contract, using the card would automatically upgrade it to a Marriage Card.
If they were already married, it could be upgraded to a Golden Anniversary Card or a Divorce Card.
In short, it was a card that could be used offensively or defensively, but utterly useless in her current predicament.
Most of the purple cards were Dating Cards. Perhaps having taken Qi Lanshi’s earlier suggestion to heart, these cards now included specific scenarios, with settings like amusement parks, shopping malls, and movie theaters—ordinary but normal places.
Still useless.
The green-glowing cards were even simpler, mostly small items for manipulating time or increasing favorability. They were quite common, and some were even rather useless, only providing a short-term boost to someone’s favorability.
But at this moment, these cards, usually considered minor trash, suddenly became far more valuable.
“Hairpins, rings, earrings, hair sticks… Why is it all jewelry?” Qi Lanshi murmured, redeeming the entire collection.
Though the assortment seemed somewhat chaotic at first glance, it was better than nothing. The metal hair stick, in particular, might prove useful for self-defense in a pinch.
During the time Qi Lanshi was redeeming the cards, Bai Jiao remained silent beside her, clearly resisting any further interaction.
Qi Lanshi first used a card that temporarily boosted favorability on Bai Jiao before speaking. “Miss Bai.”
Bai Jiao stiffened slightly before slowly lifting her head.
She saw Qi Lanshi smiling warmly at her, straining to lean closer. In a soft voice, Qi Lanshi said, “There’s something in my pocket. Could you help me get it out?”
Bai Jiao’s hands were bound behind her back, but the restraints were merely for show, allowing her hands to remain relatively nimble. She twisted her body, reaching awkwardly for Qi Lanshi’s pocket, and felt a hard, slender object.
“Shh,” Qi Lanshi whispered. “Take this first, for self-defense. See if you can cut the ropes.”
Bai Jiao felt a sharp prick through the fabric, as if the object had pierced her finger. A sudden, inexplicable pain shot through her. She desperately told herself to remain calm, to show no weakness.
“If you give it to me, what about you?” she asked.
“After what I said earlier, the kidnappers will be watching me closely. You’re the only one who can use this hairpin,” Qi Lanshi said, giving her an encouraging look. “Save yourself first. When Luan Hua arrives, we’ll have a better chance.”
Bai Jiao’s lips moved, but she had no time to speak.
Luan Hua had arrived.
Since the day Qi Lanshi went offline, Luan Hua had barely slept. The few times she closed her eyes, it was only because her rationality told her she needed to rest, or she wouldn’t be able to endure until she found Qi Lanshi.
Her head throbbed, her mind racing from the intense tension. As she stared at Qi Lanshi, bound hand and foot, the bloodshot veins in her eyes grew even redder.
Luan Hua’s condition was dire, a fact painfully obvious to everyone present. Bai Jiao’s heart pounded wildly. Something had gone terribly wrong, something beyond her expectations, and panic gripped her. She unconsciously tightened her grip on the hairpin Qi Lanshi had given her.
At the airport, Qi Lanshi hadn’t turned back to say goodbye to Luan Hua for various reasons. She never imagined Luan Hua would end up like this.
Half a month of disappearance was indeed too long. Luan Hua’s mental and physical state were both severely deteriorated. She was like a fully drawn bow, the taut string about to snap back and injure her.
“CEO Luan’s speed is truly astonishing,” the man said, his eyes fixed on Luan Hua, clearly relishing her imminent breakdown. “You almost caught me off guard. The CEO who once stood so high above, driving people to their deaths, could never have imagined being at my mercy now, could she? I told you back then—I would have my revenge!”
Only then did Luan Hua spare the man a glance. Her gaze was utterly cold, devoid of any emotion, as if she were looking at an inanimate object.
“How much money do you want?” she asked.
In stark contrast to her deteriorating condition, Luan Hua’s composure remained unshaken. She showed no signs of panic despite her beloved being held captive.
Yet this very composure shattered the man’s facade.
“What do you mean? Don’t tell me you’ve completely forgotten who I am!”
In the corner, Qi Lanshi silently rolled her eyes.
It’s such a classic trope: the villain always reveals their entire past and plan at the climax. This man clearly craved validation, and Luan Hua’s reaction made him feel like a fool, hence his heightened emotional state.
“What’s the point of remembering?” Luan Hua couldn’t fathom this man’s logic. “You want money? I’ll give it to you. Release them, and that’s it. Simple.”
After learning the man only wanted money, Luan Hua actually breathed a sigh of relief.
To her, any problem that could be solved with money wasn’t a problem at all.
Qi Lanshi could only shake her head and sigh.
Luan Hua had money, but she possessed zero emotional intelligence when dealing with people she looked down on.
Moreover, while Bai Jiao only wanted money and would avoid unnecessary complications, this disposable character was different.
Especially now that his fragile ego had been shattered.
“Money, you have money, you’re rich enough, right?” The man, now completely unhinged, pulled out a gun and swiftly chambered a round. “Let’s see how much money you really have! These two—a new flame and an old flame—you can only take one. CEO Luan, choose your favorite.”
Qi Lanshi nearly applauded the man’s dedication to self-destruction.
His commitment to courting disaster was so thorough and flawless it was almost touching, saving her the trouble of intervening herself.
Only now did panic finally flicker across Luan Hua’s face. She hadn’t stalled long enough; reinforcements and the police hadn’t arrived yet. Alone, she wasn’t confident she could save both Bai Jiao and Qi Lanshi.
Bai Jiao couldn’t believe what she was hearing, let alone that she’d chosen such a fool as her partner. Her meticulously planned scheme was about to be derailed by this idiot’s impulsive outburst!
Her voice trembled as she gritted her teeth, “Are you insane?!”
The man backhanded her across the face, spitting, “Shut your fucking mouth, b1tch! Who asked for your opinion?”
His blow sent Bai Jiao sprawling to the ground. Her cheek swelled crimson, and bl00d trickled from the corner of her mouth.
Qi Lanshi felt a pang of sympathy. Seeing a beautiful woman—especially one who resembled her—being struck like that couldn’t help but make anyone’s heart clench.
Even the most incompetent men often delude themselves into thinking they’re heroic in front of women. This cannon fodder was a prime example.
His attitude even carried a hint of smugness as he asked, “Well, CEO Luan, have you made your choice? Surely picking between these two women can’t be harder than bankrupting my father’s company and driving my family to ruin, can it?”
“I just don’t understand,” Luan Hua said, her expression impassive but her words carefully measured. “Before kidnapping us, shouldn’t you have done your research?”
She forced herself to look away from Qi Lanshi. “Bai Jiao is my childhood friend, my savior, and the woman I’ve secretly loved for years. As for the one beside her… does she even deserve to be compared to Bai Jiao?”
“You haven’t given me a real choice at all.”
Luan Hua mentally calculated the time, her heart racing with each word. “I only want Bai Jiao.”
As the last word fell, she finally lost control and glanced at Qi Lanshi.
Qi Lanshi stared back in stunned silence, her eyes filled with confusion and disbelief, her face growing paler by the second.
“So I’ve captured quite the prize,” the man said, aiming his gun at Bai Jiao. “Since CEO Luan values her so much, then I’ll definitely…”
The man’s act wasn’t over when Bai Jiao’s sudden scream startled him. He turned to see Qi Lanshi had somehow cut through her ropes and was holding a blade to her throat.
She glanced at Luan Hua one last time, then, without hesitation, slashed her throat with all her might.
Bl00d gushed forth, painting her world crimson. She collapsed, her body giving out, and heard Luan Hua’s anguished scream, like that of a wounded beast.
The pain suppression wasn’t perfect; her face contorted in agony. As she felt herself being lifted, she forced her hand up to stroke Luan Hua’s cheek, bringing this game to its final act.
Her eyes glazed over, her lips pale from bl00d loss. The wound in her throat made her voice crack, barely more than a whisper: “I know you love her… Don’t grieve for me.”
There won’t be any more updates tonight. Tomorrow, I’ll post a bit about Luan Hua’s perspective after the game ends. After writing a bit more about the real-world story, we’ll start the second storyline.
The CEO storyline’s climax was the DOI. The next climax will be on a mental level—the kind of steady, controlled madness.
Don’t abandon me!
