Making Three Heartless Woman Go Crazy for Me - Chapter 6
Qi Lanshi usually streamed until 2 AM, then went to sleep, waking up at 6:30 AM to get ready for work.
Given the unique nature of holographic games, she streamed for an extra two hours. This proved to be an excellent decision; she felt no fatigue whatsoever. The sleep she’d gotten in the game had fully replenished both her mental and physical energy.
She glanced at her computer. Most of her viewers had gone to sleep, but a small number remained, angrily scolding Qi Lanshi for her “shameless” act of keeping the experience to herself.
“What’s so secret? Why are you being so secretive?”  the chat flooded with messages.
“Please cherish the account I’ve worked so hard to build,” Qi Lanshi said with a smile. “Alright, everyone go to sleep now. I have to go to work in a bit.”
With that, she ended the stream and collapsed onto her bed. In the darkness, her gaze fixed on a single point, lost in thought for a long while before finally drifting into a brief sleep.
Qi Lanshi’s life had always been mechanical and repetitive: working at the factory during the day, handing out flyers for two hours after work, grabbing a quick bite, and then returning to her small rented room to start her evening stream.
A fan once asked her why she couldn’t start her streams earlier. She replied that she had to work during the day.
Two jobs a day? That must be exhausting.
It was more than two. Qi Lanshi also had a part-time job distributing flyers. But since flyer distribution wasn’t a daily occurrence, she barely counted it as a second job.
Today, as soon as Qi Lanshi entered the factory and changed into her work uniform, the Director called her away to cooperate with a visiting journalist for a photo shoot.
Qi Lanshi was beautiful, and whenever there were such events, she served as the factory’s representative. Her disability made her an even more compelling figure, so she was regularly asked to participate in promotional activities.
Of course, the Director never let her work for free, always offering bonuses or other perks. It was a win-win situation.
But the moment Qi Lanshi pushed open the office door and saw who was inside, her expression froze.
She quickly recovered, forcing a smile. “What a coincidence, Brother Xiaodong.”
The man, who looked refined and wore black-rimmed glasses, stood up with a smile. “Indeed. I never expected my interview subject would be Shi Lan.”
Qi Lanshi glanced at Qi Xiaodong’s face, feeling a wave of disgust, and quickly averted her gaze.
In terms of acting, Qi Xiaodong was far inferior to her. Combined with his barely concealed male gaze, the word “repulsive” was the most fitting description for him.
The Director, oblivious to the tension, felt even more reassured knowing they were relatives.
After the photoshoot, Qi Xiaodong’s eyes lingered on Qi Lanshi’s legs, which were clad in her work uniform. “You haven’t been home in ages,” he said. “Mom was just saying the other day how girls grow up and forget about their families. She misses you terribly.”
Qi Lanshi smiled. “Really? I’m flattered.”
She wanted to leave, but the Director insisted she escort Qi Xiaodong out. With an inward sigh, she reluctantly embraced her worker’s duty and rose to see him off.
Qi Lanshi’s limp was barely noticeable when she walked slowly, but Qi Xiaodong insisted on striding ahead at a brisk pace. Then he turned back, feigning surprise. “Oh, I’m so sorry, Shi Lan! I completely forgot. It’s all my fault.”
Qi Lanshi maintained her smile. “It’s fine. I’m used to it.”
“Remember to come home when you have time,” Qi Xiaodong said, patting her shoulder. “What family grudges can last overnight? I heard you’re still streaming online? A young woman like you, working in the factory is already holding you back enough. It’ll make finding a husband even harder. And with the streaming… Don’t misunderstand, I mean well. I’m just looking out for you.”
“I know, I won’t misunderstand,” Qi Lanshi replied gently but earnestly. “After all, you’re not wrong. I’ve been living off Big Brother’s tips. It’s just a shame he’s getting older. His son is almost forty, and his retirement savings are nearly gone from supporting me.”
Qi Xiaodong hadn’t expected her to say all that, and his expression froze.
He had been lying earlier. He only knew Qi Lanshi was streaming. Back when online streaming wasn’t strictly regulated, she had started broadcasting before she was even an adult. Her first experience with slut-shaming came precisely because she was a female streamer.
Qi Xiaodong had spread those rumors himself.
Of course, he knew Qi Lanshi was just streaming holographic games. He was well aware she had been forced to stream to earn money because she couldn’t afford her tuition. But… who cared?
Who made her reject him? Who made her act so holier-than-thou?
Even Qi Lanshi’s later accident and resulting disability seemed like karmic retribution in his eyes—punishment for rejecting him.
Qi Xiaodong’s appearance at the factory today wasn’t accidental; he had come specifically for Qi Lanshi. He wanted to see what had become of the disabled woman who hadn’t even finished college.
If she was miserable and humiliated, and begged him for forgiveness, he might grudgingly give her a chance.
But what did she say?
She had truly debased herself, living by flattering an old man?
“Thinking, ‘Why would I rather smile at an old man than even look at you?'” Qi Lanshi asked, smiling sweetly as she pushed his hand away. “It’s simple: you’re poor.”
“You think getting into college makes you better than me? Seeing me disabled must make your superiority complex explode, right? But so what?”
“You’re still just a poor bastard. Have you even looked in a mirror? You think you deserve me? You’re pathetic.”
Qi Lanshi’s words were both aggressive and humiliating. Standing there, she spoke in a gentle, measured tone that completely broke Qi Xiaodong’s composure. “The fact that I’d rather flatter an old man than even acknowledge you only proves how worthless you are. Understand?”
Qi Xiaodong’s usually composed face twisted into a grimace. Clenching his jaw, he spat, “B1tch!”
“Hey, young man, watch your mouth! How dare you curse like that?” Director Li materialized as if from thin air. “Just because you’re a journalist doesn’t give you the right to insult disabled people! Say another word and I’ll call the police!”
Director Li was a stern, elderly man whose stern expression could be quite intimidating. Qi Xiaodong’s remaining curses swirled in his mouth before he reluctantly swallowed them and stomped off, glaring at Qi Lanshi as he left.
Qi Lanshi snorted. This guy went to college and got dumber? A college student acting like such an idiot?
After dismissing Qi Xiaodong, Director Li turned to Qi Lanshi. “Who was that? What’s your connection to him?”
Qi Lanshi shook her head. “A distant relative. No real connection. He’s not important.”
Muttering, “I should have known better than to let you come,” Director Li urged her to get back to work.
Since dropping out of school, Qi Lanshi had held many jobs, but she’d stayed longest at this factory. The reason was simple: the management was remarkably normal.
For example, just now, the Director overheard her conversation with Qi Xiaodong, kicked Qi Xiaodong out, but didn’t even ask if what she’d said was true.
Another day of full-throttle productivity for the working class!
The only downside was that she didn’t get any side jobs today, so she’d have to go straight home after work.
Normally, Qi Lanshi would use this time to sleep, relax, or scroll through videos of beautiful women dancing. After all, a female office worker who’s been grinding all day deserves to unwind with some eye candy. It’s how she recharges her energy, boosts her productivity, and contributes to societal progress.
But today, after much deliberation, Qi Lanshi decided to log into the game first.
After all, watching a hundred videos of dancing beauties wouldn’t make them hers, but the game was different.
The “yellow” content in there was actually tangible.
Before climbing into the Holographic Pod, she hesitated, deciding against streaming and instead posting a leave notice.
The game’s frequent lewd scenes felt a bit unhealthy, and after running into Qi Xiaodong today, he’d definitely search for her. She didn’t want that idiot reporting her.
Qi Lanshi thought she’d covered all her bases, but the comments under her leave notice were nothing like what she’d expected.
The most upvoted comment read: Â Yesterday you were getting down and dirty, today you’re taking a day off? Woman, are you feeling drained?
Reason told Qi Lanshi: Â It’s just a joke, a playful jab. Laugh it off, and the fans will forget about it by tomorrow’s stream.
But her fingers slammed down on the keyboard: Â Nonsense! I am by no means lacking in stamina!
