- Chapter 14 - I Like Sister
Lin Ruoyun was shocked as the little one suddenly flipped over and pinned her down. Just as she let out a muffled sound, her lips were sealed tightly by Guan Yinghan.
Ruoyun’s lips were cold, yet incredibly soft, like marshmallows. The slightest touch felt like sweetness melting between her teeth. It had been too long, a full five years, since Guan Yinghan had touched Ruoyun, let alone shared such an intimate kiss.Â
This real touch brought a surge of uncontrollable emotion that climbed from her stomach to her heart. Even the scent gland on the back of her neck pulsed uncontrollably, recklessly releasing pheromones.
Guan Yinghan instinctively reached for the back of her neck. Thankfully, she had put on a special, strong isolation patch from Director He beforehand. Even if some pheromones leaked out, it would only be a minuscule, barely noticeable amount.Â
However, she had overestimated her self-control when she was with Ruoyun.
Guan Yinghan had only intended to kiss her to ease her longing, but the Omega’s soft, warm body made her greedy. She couldn’t help but want more, more intimate contact. Following her desire, Guan Yinghan hesitantly let out the tip of her tongue, slowly licking the Omega’s soft lips.
Lin Ruoyun didn’t expect Naitang to use her tongue. Surprised, she parted her lips. The moment her mouth opened, Guan Yinghan’s tongue accidentally slipped in, tangling with her own soft, pink tongue.Â
It was a real, deeply passionate kiss. The intense sensory stimulation made Guan Yinghan’s pheromones completely spiral out of control.
Fortunately, the strong isolation patch blocked them, so Ruoyun couldn’t smell her pheromones and didn’t feel any discomfort. She was just briefly dazed. It wasn’t until Guan Yinghan’s lips moved to her neck and began to tentatively lick the scent gland on the back of her neck that she suddenly jolted awake.Â
She used all her strength to push Guan Yinghan away.
Guan Yinghan crashed hard into the corner of the table. The pain instantly brought her back to her senses, and she realized just how out of control her actions had been. Lin Ruoyun was probably really angry. Her breathing was ragged.Â
“Naitang, what… What are you doing? Where… Where did you learn that?”
Guan Yinghan was incredibly grateful that she was just a “fool.” With the identity of “Naitang” as a cover, any misbehavior would be met with leniency. She held Lin Ruoyun’s sleeve helplessly and gently shook it, looking like a good, naive little one who had done something wrong and was begging for forgiveness.Â
“Sister, that’s how people kiss in the movies.”
Lin Ruoyun’s anger went straight to her head. Are cartoons these days so explicit? How did they even get approved?
Lin Ruoyun took a deep breath. She used to think of Naitang as just a little kid who had lost her mind. But after being pinned down and kissed… Ruoyun suddenly realized that Naitang’s body was that of a full-grown Alpha.Â
Since AOs were different, Lin Ruoyun couldn’t be polite. Her tone was extremely stern. “Naitang, Alphas can’t just kiss Omegas, you know?”
Guan Yinghan lowered her eyes, hiding the sadness and disappointment. I wonder who it was that used to let me kiss the scent gland on her neck without any defenses, who used to bury herself in my arms and beg for a marking.Â
We did everything intimate, but now she won’t even let me touch her.
Guan Yinghan sighed sadly in her heart. When she looked up again, her eyes were innocent and pure. “When can I… have a kiss?”
Seeing the eagerness to learn in her eyes, Lin Ruoyun tried to explain AO physiology to her in the simplest terms. “You can if your Omega likes you and you like her, too.”
“I like Sister.”
Guan Yinghan slowly looked up, her long, narrow eyes full of hope.Â
She asked in a trembling voice, “Sister, do you like Naitang?”
Lin Ruoyun’s breath hitched. She couldn’t deny that she liked Naitang a lot. But her affection for Naitang was purely one of sympathy and a desire to protect. She hoped to take care of her and give her a safe harbor. She had never thought about any other kind of feelings.
Naitang was still too young. Lin Ruoyun didn’t know how to explain the different meanings of “like.”Â
Without a response from Lin Ruoyun, Guan Yinghan’s head drooped, and a hint of red appeared at the corners of her eyes.
Oh my God! Why is raising a little one so difficult?
She hadn’t yelled at or hit her. She had just said one thing, and now she was looking at her with that expression, like the whole world had abandoned her. Lin Ruoyun couldn’t stand it. She quickly softened her tone and soothingly ruffled her hair.
“Of course I like Naitang.”
Guan Yinghan looked up in surprise, her eyes sparkling. “Naitang likes Sister, and Sister likes Naitang, so we can kiss.”
Lin Ruoyun: “…”
That does sound logical…
Lin Ruoyun began to self-hypnotize. Oh well! Naitang is just a mentally-impaired Alpha. Why argue with her? As long as I stay clear-headed and true to myself, what’s there to worry about?

When she woke up in the morning, Lin Ruoyun habitually checked her phone. Besides Qin Yeli’s routine of seven messages a day, there was a message from her classmate, Lin Shan.
[Ruoyun, have you thought about what I told you last time?]
Lin Shan was a resident singer at the biggest bar in the city center. She got paid daily, and singing seven or eight songs a night could earn her a few thousand yuan. But the bar was loud, and the requirements for a singer were very high.Â
They needed a clear voice, perfect diction, and strong singing skills, from high to low notes. The bar was expanding and in urgent need of resident singers. Lin Shan had asked Ruoyun to come, but she had politely declined.
Acting was Ruoyun’s dream. In the past, she could have started as an extra and slowly waited for her chance to be discovered. But now she had to take care of her little one. Giving Naitang a better life was her top priority. Maybe she should temporarily put her dream aside and find a new job.
Lin Ruoyun unlocked her phone and was about to reply “okay” when a call came in. She stared at the name “Director Zhang” on the screen, thinking she was still half-asleep and seeing things. It wasn’t until the second ring that she came to her senses and quickly answered.Â
“Sister Zhang…”
“Ruoyun, you finally answered! I have good news for you. The entire creative team for Dream’s Edge has been replaced. The new lead actress saw your scene with Zhan Qing and specifically asked for you to play the second female lead.”
Over the phone, Director Zhang couldn’t contain her excitement.Â
“Ruoyun, you’re so lucky this time. Do you know who the new lead actress of Dream’s Edge is? It’s Jiang Hui! Not only is she promoting you to the second female lead, but she also wants to officially sign you. Hurry up and get ready. I’ll take you to meet her.”
After hanging up, Lin Ruoyun was still in a daze. She couldn’t believe that the film empress Jiang would want to meet her and sign her. Jiang Hui started as a child star and won her first Best Actress award at thirteen. Since then, she had been unstoppable, sweeping major awards both at home and abroad. Later, she started her own management company and became one of the most famous agents in the industry within a few years.
Lin Ruoyun had never had any contact with Jiang Hui before. They were on completely different levels, in different social circles. Not to mention contacting her, even seeing her was a luxury. So, she felt nervous on her way to the set with Director Zhang.
Lin Ruoyun, as usual, settled Guan Yinghan in the assistant’s lounge and instructed her, “Naitang, stay here and don’t run around. My sister will be out soon.”
Guan Yinghan held her pinky finger tightly. “Sister, I’ll go with you.”
Lin Ruoyun thought she was scared again and was about to pull her back, but Director Zhang waved her hand. “It’s fine. I’ve told Empress Jiang about your situation. She agreed to let you bring this Alpha ‘fool’ to the set.”
Lin Ruoyun’s expression was beyond surprising. She felt something was off about the whole thing. It didn’t make any sense, but she didn’t want to ask too many questions and kept her doubts to herself. Director Zhang led her to the set’s conference room.Â
Lin Ruoyun lightly knocked on the wooden door, and a slightly hoarse female voice inside said, “Come in!”
She opened the door and saw a few people gathered around the conference table. The woman in the suit at the head of the table was indeed the film empress, Jiang Hui. Lin Ruoyun was a little intimidated, but her face remained unchanged.Â
She walked up confidently, bowed slightly, and said, “Senior.”
Jiang Hui looked past her abruptly, as if she was looking for someone. After a long moment, Jiang Hui spoke again. “Miss Lin, I’ve watched your scene with Zhan Qing. I think you’re good in every aspect. The new director of Dream’s Edge is here now. How about we do a quick scene together?”
Doing a scene with the film empress Jiang was something a low-level actress like Lin Ruoyun wouldn’t even dare to dream of. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves and smiled.Â
“Okay.”
Jiang Hui seemed to really enjoy acting with Lin Ruoyun. They were on the same page, understood the script in the same way, and communicated easily. She specifically chose one of the most challenging scenes in the script.Â
With just an exchange of a look, they ignited a fierce spark. Jiang Hui seemed to have not had so much fun acting in a long time. After the scene, she turned to the director, smiled, and praised, “Miss Lin has a lot of talent.”
The director adjusted his reading glasses, looked at Lin Ruoyun from below through his half-moon lenses, and then smiled and nodded. “The Second Miss has good taste.”
Lin Ruoyun was too far away to hear what the director said. She looked at Jiang Hui in confusion and happened to see her wink at the director. Lin Ruoyun felt more and more strange, and her expression became uneasy.
