Married the Second Generation Fox Demon with a Baby in a Flash Marriage (GL) - Chapter 21
“Hello, President Ye!” Hu Mengmeng tried her best to deepen her voice, appearing obedient and earnest, shrinking her shoulders as she looked at Ye Xinyu, as if she had never seen the world and was embarrassed.
Ye Xinyu’s aura was imposing, and Hu Mengmeng had witnessed several of her “ruthless” scenes. Looking at Ye Xinyu at such close range, she trembled inwardly.
Moreover, the fox spirit bloodline she had wrapped in spiritual energy seemed to have been heated up, becoming restless, wanting to break free. Hu Mengmeng hurriedly added more spiritual energy to contain it, using more effort.
Hu Mengmeng constantly reassured herself in her heart. She was human now, and her appearance, height, and measurements were all different from her fox spirit form. Ye Xinyu couldn’t possibly see through her, impossible!
Her aura was completely concealed without a trace of leakage, and her bloodline was safely contained within the ball of spiritual energy. Yes!
“Hello,” Ye Xinyu replied politely, her expression unchanged, her gaze sliding across Hu Mengmeng’s face.
Hu Mengmeng’s discomfort didn’t escape Ye Xinyu’s notice. Fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, making her look somewhat nervous.
Ye Xinyu had specifically investigated her before and had even sent people to follow her for a few days to observe.
Just an ordinary little kid, who had recently lost weight and become a bit prettier, tall with delicate features, not outstanding but comfortable to look at.
Ye Xinyu’s suspicion of her had almost disappeared, but now it resurfaced.
Previously, Ye Xinyu had only seen her in photos and hadn’t noticed any spiritual energy on Hu Mengmeng. But looking at her now, it was very obvious.
In her perception, Hu Mengmeng was indeed human, without the slightest hint of demonic aura.
However, she had spiritual energy, was close to Tao Tao, and now looked so unnatural. Clearly, something was amiss, and she was very likely related to that fox.
“Mengmeng, you don’t need to be nervous. President Ye is very nice. President Ye, Hu Mengmeng is a new member, a freshman from the computer science and technology department. Her high school classmate just said that she was a big fatty two months ago. To lose so much weight, she has a lot of perseverance,” Tong Qiao said to Ye Xinyu.
“Mm, not bad,” Ye Xinyu said.
Hu Mengmeng forced a smile, secretly observing Ye Xinyu’s expression. She looked very calm, still aloof and unapproachable, her eyes not even glancing in her direction.
It was safe, she hadn’t recognized her!
Hu Mengmeng let out a small breath, secretly thinking, and with imperceptible speed, moved away from Ye Xinyu. With every inch she moved away, her bloodline seemed to become slightly more docile.
Hu Mengmeng thought that this was probably the reaction of a demon encountering a demon hunter.
On Ye Xinyu’s side, she was surrounded by the other new members, like an idol meeting fans, so Hu Mengmeng’s actions didn’t attract anyone else’s attention.
“Senior Ye, I’m really sorry about last time. Are you alright?” Lin Yunya looked at Ye Xinyu nervously and guiltily.
“There’s nothing to be sorry about. I’m fine. Be more careful next time. Tong Qiao, since I’m here, and this is my last semester in the undergraduate program, I’d like to choose a new member to guide regularly,” Ye Xinyu said casually to Lin Yunya, then turned to Tong Qiao.
Hu Mengmeng’s unease and her subtle attempt to move away hadn’t escaped Ye Xinyu’s notice.
This timid appearance was different from the fox Ye Xinyu had encountered, yet they shared one common trait: wanting to stay away from her.
Choosing a new member to guide was something Ye Xinyu had tailored for Hu Mengmeng.
“Xinyu, are you serious? Do you have the time?” Tong Qiao asked in surprise.
“A little, not much,” Ye Xinyu said.
“Then who should we choose?” Tong Qiao asked.
Lin Yunya looked at Ye Xinyu with anticipation in her eyes. Gu Mingzhen’s expression was a bit dim, but she still patted Lin Yunya’s shoulder, encouraging her.
“Let’s draw lots. Write their names on paper, and I’ll pick one,” Ye Xinyu said.
Several new members were very excited. Hu Mengmeng wished she could leave immediately.
Tong Qiao had a list. She tore off the names on the list, crumpled them into balls, and let Ye Xinyu choose one.
After Ye Xinyu made her selection, she gave the paper ball to Tong Qiao to unfold. As for who was chosen, Ye Xinyu had already memorized the names while Tong Qiao was crumpling them. She was fine with whoever was picked.
“It’s Hu Mengmeng! Mengmeng, congratulations, you’re so lucky!” Tong Qiao unfolded the paper ball and showed it to everyone as she spoke.
Hu Mengmeng was stunned. What luck? This was bad luck, okay?
If she had known that Ye Xinyu was that demon hunter, she shouldn’t have joined this martial arts club.
When Lin Yunya heard that it was Hu Mengmeng, disappointment flashed in her eyes. She looked at Hu Mengmeng, somewhat jealous of her luck.
“What’s wrong with you? Are you dumbfounded with joy?! You’re practically President Ye’s half-disciple now!” Tong Qiao pulled Hu Mengmeng, who had moved a little further away, back over.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m dumbfounded with joy. I really didn’t expect it,” Hu Mengmeng said, on the verge of tears.
“Since the choice is made, let’s start today. Student Hu, please come with me to that small training room,” Ye Xinyu said, taking a step closer.
“Um, Senior Ye, I, I’m feeling a bit unwell today and not suitable for training,” Hu Mengmeng said, her legs feeling a bit weak at Ye Xinyu’s words. As she got closer to Ye Xinyu, her fox spirit bloodline became restless again.
Going to the small training room alone with Ye Xinyu was something Hu Mengmeng absolutely couldn’t do.
“Today is not for training. I just want to discuss some things to prepare for later,” Ye Xinyu said.
“I…” Hu Mengmeng was still thinking of an excuse to refuse when Tong Qiao spoke up.
“Mengmeng, this is a rare opportunity. Haven’t you always wanted to learn some skills? What are you being so reserved about?” Tong Qiao patted Hu Mengmeng and said.
“No, I really don’t feel well. I’m sorry, I think I should go back first,” Hu Mengmeng said, clutching her stomach and hunching over, looking very uncomfortable.
“Uh, President Ye, what do you think? Should we reschedule?” Tong Qiao asked, seeing Hu Mengmeng’s appearance and guessing it was menstrual pain. She looked at Ye Xinyu.
“Alright then. When will you be free?” Ye Xinyu asked, looking at Hu Mengmeng.
“I, I don’t know. I’m really sorry. I’ll let Senior Tong know when I’m free. I think I should go back first,” Hu Mengmeng said.
Even at this distance, Hu Mengmeng felt like she could barely hold it in. Because she had used a lot of energy, her head was dizzy. If she really went into a small room, she felt like she would transform at any moment.
Hu Mengmeng’s refusal of Ye Xinyu’s first guidance left the other unselected members dumbfounded. Even if one felt unwell, one should overcome it for such an opportunity!
To say she would notify them later, who did she think she was? She was too ungrateful!
She probably didn’t even know the significance of this opportunity. How could she be so foolish!
Especially Lin Yunya, her expression looked very bad.
Hu Mengmeng had slighted something she had been greatly looking forward to!
“Alright then. Go and rest. Do you need someone to see you off?” Ye Xinyu asked with concern.
Hu Mengmeng’s appearance clearly indicated she was in a hurry to leave. Was she going to see that fox? That would be a good opportunity to have someone follow her and see who she contacted.
“No need! Sorry, I’ll go first!” Hu Mengmeng said hurriedly, feeling as if she had been granted amnesty. She waved at everyone and backed out the door.
Once outside the training ground, Hu Mengmeng wiped away some sweat and quickly jogged away.
She thought about releasing her bloodline when she got home and then carefully considering her countermeasures when her head was clear.
How to perfectly withdraw from the martial arts club without making Ye Xinyu suspicious of her.
As soon as Hu Mengmeng left, Ye Xinyu’s expression froze. She heard the “jingle jingle jingle” of a bell.
It was the sound of an enchanted bell.
Enchanted bells didn’t have clappers and didn’t ring, but if a hand seal was formed, the vibration would produce a sound that only the sealer could hear.
The only enchanted bell Ye Xinyu had currently sealed was the one she had lost by the river.
No one else in the room had moved much, only Hu Mengmeng had run!
Ye Xinyu had intended to make a call and have someone follow Hu Mengmeng while she made some preparations. However, hearing the bell sound, Ye Xinyu decided to follow her herself.
“Tong Qiao, you handle the rest. Arrange a dinner sometime, my treat.
I have some urgent business and need to leave,” Ye Xinyu said to Tong Qiao, turned around, and left with hurried steps.
Tong Qiao knew Ye Xinyu was busy and didn’t pay much attention, proceeding to make arrangements for the remaining people.
Lin Yunya watched Ye Xinyu leave, a hint of disappointment in her eyes. She hadn’t expected to be separated from Ye Xinyu so quickly after finally meeting her!
As Ye Xinyu went downstairs, she focused her attention, listening intently for the sound of the bell.
Hu Mengmeng was carrying the bell she had sealed. As long as Hu Mengmeng was within a certain range and the bell was vibrating, she could locate her.
Hu Mengmeng ran for a while. The restlessness of her bloodline finally subsided, returning to its previous state, which made her breathe a sigh of relief. She headed towards the classroom where she had her afternoon classes. When she arrived, there was no class, and no one was there yet. Hu Mengmeng found a seat and sat down, panting heavily.
Before Hu Mengmeng could catch her breath, she suddenly felt that something was different around her. The calmed fox spirit bloodline became restless again. Hu Mengmeng quickly looked around and saw Ye Xinyu slowly walking towards her at the classroom door. Her eyes, looking in Hu Mengmeng’s direction, had a strange golden glint.
Hu Mengmeng’s eyes widened. She sat up abruptly, wanting to run, but saw that Ye Xinyu held five strange small flags in her hand. With a speed faster than Hu Mengmeng’s reaction, she threw them above her head, where they spun around, forming a layer of spiritual energy membrane. Whether Hu Mengmeng went forward or backward, it felt like hitting a wall.
She was trapped!
Ye Xinyu slowly closed the classroom door and then walked towards Hu Mengmeng.
“Little demon, where do you think you’re going?” Ye Xinyu said softly, looking at the nervous Hu Mengmeng.
“You, what are you talking about? I don’t understand. I’m human. Senior Ye, please, please don’t joke around,” Hu Mengmeng said hurriedly, fine beads of sweat appearing on her forehead at a visible rate.
Where had she shown a flaw? The bell was well-hidden, not exposed!
Was it because she had just refused Ye Xinyu’s private tutoring?
She had used her entire acting skills to pretend to have a stomachache!
As Ye Xinyu approached, Hu Mengmeng’s suppressed fox spirit bloodline became increasingly restless.
Hu Mengmeng tried her best to suppress it, determined to deny being a demon to the death and to not reveal her fox tail no matter what!
Demon hunters were not allowed to harm humans; doing so would violate human laws.
“Oh? You’re human, then why do you have fox ears? Are they fake?” Ye Xinyu walked closer to Hu Mengmeng and looked at the top of her head, her tone laced with doubt.
Hu Mengmeng was dumbfounded. No way!
Hu Mengmeng quickly reached up and touched both sides of her head. Nothing had popped out!
Ye Xinyu narrowed her eyes, a smile playing on her lips. So it was her after all.
She hadn’t been certain at first, using spiritual energy to focus her eyes to see if it was an illusion. The person she saw was still the same.
Seeing Hu Mengmeng’s nervous appearance, Ye Xinyu decided to bluff her, not expecting her to actually touch her head.
This fox didn’t seem too bright, a bit silly and cute, just like when she was little.
When Hu Mengmeng saw Ye Xinyu’s expression, she naturally knew that Ye Xinyu was bluffing her. Hu Mengmeng was furious at her own stupidity!
