Married the Second Generation Fox Demon with a Baby in a Flash Marriage (GL) - Chapter 4
“Aunt Lan, stay in the car, I’ll be back in a moment,” Ye Xinyu said softly to the woman in the car.
“Xinyu, be careful!” the person called Aunt Lan said worriedly.
Ye Xinyu nodded and got out of the minivan, still carrying the sword.
Once out, she moved quickly, heading directly towards a small park on the side.
In the small park, in the muddy, ankle-deep water, a person wearing a bright yellow raincoat was pressing down on another person, their head lowered, seemingly doing something. Around them, a patch of bl00d was spreading.
Ye Xinyu approached swiftly, saw the two figures, and without hesitation, thrust the sword in her hand towards the person on top.
The person who was stabbed rolled to the side and looked up. Yellow fur grew on their face, and their fanged mouth was covered in bl00d, with bits of flesh stuck between their teeth.
“Damnable demon hunter!” the person growled, a beastly hiss, baring their fangs as they lunged at Ye Xinyu.
Ye Xinyu bent backward, displaying surprising flexibility, and sprang up like a spring, thrusting the longsword into the person again.
In just two exchanges, the person was knocked down by Ye Xinyu and didn’t get up again. Bl00d spread around them, and a fishy stench filled the damp air. The adult-sized body visibly shrank, until finally, it became a yellow-furred rat the size of a cat.
Ye Xinyu breathed slightly, put the yellow-furred rat into a bag, her brow furrowed even more tightly than before.
“Xinyu, did you get it?” Ye Xinyu returned to the minivan. Aunt Lan looked at her, seeing that she had brought something back, and first checked that she wasn’t injured before asking.
“No, this one was too weak. It’s probably just its offspring. I hope it didn’t have time to demonize more of its descendants,” Ye Xinyu said, sounding tired.
“Xinyu, you’re too tired today, get some rest early. This request is too troublesome. There’s too much demonic energy in Taolin County,” Aunt Lan said worriedly.
Ye Xinyu closed her eyes to rest, and the minivan drove away.

Hu Mengmeng huffed and puffed as she went upstairs. When she got home, Su Mingli had already washed up and gone to bed. She heard Hu Mengmeng’s voice and got up to take a look.
Hu Mengmeng was tiptoeing to wash up. Su Mingli shook her head and didn’t bother her, just checked if the door was locked properly before going back to sleep.
The wind and rain outside continued. Su Mingli lay in bed, her mind replaying old memories, causing her to toss and turn. On the other side, Hu Mengmeng lay in bed, feeling sad for a few seconds before quickly falling asleep.
The next day, a little after three in the morning, Su Mingli was still awake. She looked at the time and got up directly. She glanced at Hu Mengmeng’s bedroom door but ultimately didn’t wake the soundly sleeping Hu Mengmeng. She washed up, got dressed, and went to the snack shop to prepare breakfast, which would start selling a little after six.
Mengmeng Snack Shop mainly sold breakfast: steamed buns, plain buns, soy milk, porridge, and egg pancakes. The main work was preparing early in the morning, and sales started after 6 or 7 o’clock. The shop was very small, only five or six square meters, with no tables or chairs for dining in. Customers all bought takeout.
Su Mingli had some talent for making snacks. After running the stall for several years, she had built a good reputation in the neighborhood. There were many customers in the morning. Besides Su Mingli herself, she also hired an auntie to help. Even so, a long queue would still form in the morning.
The other breakfast shops nearby, selling fried dough sticks, sesame balls, tofu pudding, and spicy soup, looked at Su Mingli’s shop with envy. Their customer traffic was only half of Su Mingli’s.
“Brother Tao, your breakfast is ready,” Su Mingli greeted a customer, waving at a middle-aged man she saw.
This man was Tao Tao’s father, Tao Zhengcheng, a policeman, tall and sturdy, with a rough and straightforward appearance, looking very righteous.
Tao Tao and Hu Mengmeng were good friends, and the two families had a good relationship. Su Mingli helped him look after Tao Tao and do some delicate work, and he would often help Su Mingli with things like fixing broken items at home, resolving shop disputes, and moving heavy objects.
Tao Tao often brought delicious food for Hu Mengmeng. Tao Zhengcheng’s breakfast was prepared by Su Mingli in advance. It was fine for him to eat for free, but Tao Zhengcheng was too embarrassed to eat for nothing and had long ago paid Su Mingli a monthly fee. His breakfast was pretty much the same every day.
“Mingli, let me tell you something. Things haven’t been peaceful lately. Last night, there were two murder cases. Don’t let Mengmeng deliver takeout for now,” Tao Zhengcheng took his breakfast, greeted Su Mingli, and then called her aside to give her a warning.
“Brother Tao, you just got back! Sigh, I understand. It’s a real tragedy. Hurry back and rest, and take Tao Tao’s breakfast with you,” Su Mingli said, nodding at Tao Zhengcheng’s tired and serious face.
After the college entrance exams, Hu Mengmeng had registered as a takeout rider using Su Mingli’s ID, received the delivery equipment, and started taking orders to earn some pocket money.
Su Mingli had installed a GPS tracker on Hu Mengmeng’s phone, and the orders Hu Mengmeng took were all nearby, an area Hu Mengmeng was very familiar with, so Su Mingli felt at ease. Now that Tao Zhengcheng said this, Su Mingli naturally wouldn’t let Hu Mengmeng deliver takeout anymore.
Tao Zhengcheng thanked Su Mingli and quickly went back.
When Hu Mengmeng finally woke up, it was already seven in the morning. She looked at the time, quickly got dressed and washed up, and rushed to Mengmeng Snack Shop. Su Mingli, wearing an apron and a mask, was packing breakfast for customers. Hu Mengmeng skillfully took an apron and mask, put them on, and started working with Su Mingli.
Hu Mengmeng mainly helped during the peak hours. Around 10 o’clock, there were fewer people buying breakfast. Occasionally someone would come to buy steamed buns, plain buns, and soy milk, but it wasn’t as busy.
“Mom, I’m going to deliver takeout. Where are the electric scooter keys?” Hu Mengmeng asked Su Mingli when she saw fewer customers.
“Don’t go. Your Uncle Tao said things haven’t been peaceful these past few days. Two people nearby had accidents last night. Don’t add to the trouble. Go home and watch TV and play with Tao Tao, and get some rest,” Su Mingli said.
“Mom, but I don’t have any pocket money!” Hu Mengmeng frowned.
“There’s plenty of food at home, what do you need pocket money for! You wasted so much money yesterday, I haven’t even settled the score with you yet! It’s not busy here anymore, go home and play,” Su Mingli glared at Hu Mengmeng.
Hu Mengmeng pouted, took off her apron and mask, and went home.
“Mengmeng, it’s so much better not to deliver takeout, the weather is so hot now. I ordered a cheesecake, two pieces of chicken cutlet, and forty skewers of small meat skewers. Let’s eat them together!” Hu Mengmeng found Tao Tao at home and complained to her. Tao Tao comforted her.
“I said I was going to lose weight,” Hu Mengmeng said, conflicted.
“If you don’t eat it, I will,” Tao Tao pouted and opened the bag on the table.
Hu Mengmeng swallowed her saliva, her eyes turning green. Finally, she couldn’t resist and grabbed some food to eat.
“Tao Tao, you’re my stumbling block!” Hu Mengmeng said indignantly.
Tao Tao said they would eat together, but she only ate less than a tenth of the food, with the rest being devoured by Hu Mengmeng.
“Can I use your electric scooter to deliver takeout? It’s really uncomfortable not having any pocket money. Let’s switch phones. You take mine, I’ll take yours, and my mom won’t know I went to deliver takeout.” Perhaps having eaten something, a previously clueless Hu Mengmeng suddenly had a flash of inspiration.
Tao Tao was surprised, not expecting Hu Mengmeng to come up with such a plan. According to her usual simple mind, she would probably be worried to death, and even after eating and feeling happy, she would continue to worry.
“How can that work? If Auntie finds out, she’ll blame me. My dad said it’s best if you don’t go, safety is important,” Tao Tao said, waving her hand.
“It’s okay, I used to deliver anyway. I’ll just go during the day, and I’ll be back before my mom gets off work. Tao Tao, good Tao Tao, please help me,” Hu Mengmeng said.
“Alright then, but you have to answer my calls anytime, and only accept orders nearby, don’t take any that are too far. Take this stun gun with you, you can use it on bad guys,” Tao Tao had no choice but to agree, but she still found a small self-defense stun gun from her house for Hu Mengmeng.
Hu Mengmeng cheered up. She took the keys to Tao Tao’s electric scooter, brought her takeout box, logged into the app with Tao Tao’s phone, and started delivering takeout.
Hu Mengmeng secretly did this for two days. On the third day at noon, Hu Mengmeng was delivering takeout to an office building. She parked her scooter and was about to deliver a bag of takeout boxes when she was stopped by someone wearing the same clothes as her but with a helmet covering their head and face, so she couldn’t see what they looked like.
“Little fatty, looks delicious,” the person said in a low voice, looking in Hu Mengmeng’s direction.
This person actually called her delicious!
Hu Mengmeng’s eyes widened. She hadn’t expected to encounter a pervert trying to assault her!
“A bit greasy, but I don’t mind!” the person said, walking towards Hu Mengmeng, making a rustling sound that sounded like excitement.
“Help! Someone’s trying to assault me!” Hu Mengmeng screamed, her hand reaching for the stun gun. She definitely couldn’t outrun this person.
Just as the person lunged to hold Hu Mengmeng down, they let out a muffled groan, and a sharp sword tip appeared in their chest, bl00d splattering onto Hu Mengmeng.
