Married the Second Generation Fox Demon with a Baby in a Flash Marriage (GL) - Chapter 5
Hu Mengmeng was stunned by the scene. Before she could react, she saw a flash of slender white leg, and the person was kicked to the side. Then, Hu Mengmeng saw a slender, long-haired woman in a black jumpsuit pull out a meter-long sword that had been stabbed into the person, and without hesitation, stabbed again.
“Demon hunter, I’ll kill you!” the person growled, dodging the attack, then roared and ripped off their helmet, revealing a face covered in yellow fur and a mouth full of fangs as they lunged at the woman.
This woman was Ye Xinyu, who had been tracking the yellow-furred rat demon nearby. This strange-looking person was indeed the yellow-furred rat demon.
Hu Mengmeng didn’t see the person’s face clearly, but the words “demon hunter” terrified her, even more so than seeing bl00d splatter on herself earlier. It was an instinctive fear, and along with the fear came a change in her body. Unbeknownst to her, under her electric scooter helmet, ears had already sprouted, and the clothes on her back had puffed out.
Just as Ye Xinyu stabbed the yellow-furred rat demon, she suddenly looked up in Hu Mengmeng’s direction. A black mask covered her face, revealing only a pair of eyes that shone with a bright golden light, her gaze sharp and filled with killing intent. Hu Mengmeng’s legs, which had gone weak with fear, suddenly seemed to regain strength. She dropped the takeout bag in her hand and ran with all her might towards the electric scooter, her speed several times faster than her usual walking pace, comparable to the speed of the high school’s top sprinter in the 100-meter race.
Ye Xinyu was entangled with the yellow-furred rat demon. Seeing Hu Mengmeng run, Ye Xinyu’s movements became more efficient. She stabbed the yellow-furred rat demon in the neck. The yellow-furred rat demon visibly shrunk from human size to cat size. Ye Xinyu used her sword to pick it up and throw it into the bag, then ran towards Hu Mengmeng’s direction without stopping.
Hu Mengmeng had already gotten on the electric scooter, started it, and fled at top speed.
Even though Ye Xinyu was very fast, she couldn’t keep up with the speed of the electric scooter. After chasing for a few steps, she stopped and frowned in Hu Mengmeng’s direction.
“Xinyu, Xinyu!” A minivan drove up to Ye Xinyu, the window rolled down, and Aunt Lan inside called out to Ye Xinyu.
“What happened to you? It’s broad daylight, how brazen!” Aunt Lan said, frowning as she looked at the bulging black bag in Ye Xinyu’s hand.
“I’m fine, let’s go,” Ye Xinyu said, her eyes lowered, and got into the car.

Hu Mengmeng fled all the way, and wherever she went, the surrounding cats, dogs, snakes, insects, and rats were startled by her aura and scattered in panic.
She ran for about five or six kilometers before stopping. The fear was still there, and her body was trembling. If possible, she would have wanted to keep running, but a strange sensation in her body made her stop.
The base of her spine was very itchy, and sitting on the electric scooter was uncomfortable and a bit painful. Also, she felt extremely hot, and the helmet was squeezing her head, giving her a headache. It felt like her head had suddenly grown bigger, especially the top of her head, which was buzzing.
Hu Mengmeng parked near a public restroom and jogged into a toilet stall. She took off her helmet and panted for a while, then touched her tailbone. It felt like something was biting her, both itchy and numb. She seemed to have felt this sensation a few days ago when she was crying in the rain, but she hadn’t paid attention then because she was also getting wet. Now, the feeling was particularly noticeable, and the weather was very hot. She wondered if it was some kind of bug or if something was growing.
Hu Mengmeng touched it. It was furry, making her almost jump up in fright. Then something jumped out from under her clothes and brushed against her ear.
Hu Mengmeng grabbed it suddenly with her hand and actually felt a large, furry tail, red in color, looking glossy and smooth with good quality fur.
Hu Mengmeng was dumbfounded, somewhat in disbelief. She tugged at the tail, but it was her who felt the pain.
This tail was hers!
Hu Mengmeng suddenly remembered what Su Mingli had said a few days ago, that when her emotions were agitated, she would grow ears and a tail. Hu Mengmeng touched the top of her head, and sure enough, furry ears had appeared. Pinching them even hurt; they were hers!
She really was a fox spirit!
No, she should be the daughter of a fox spirit!
She really did have fox spirit bloodline!
Hu Mengmeng reached out and grabbed the tail in her hand again, stroking it.
Earlier, she had probably been frightened, and the tail had stood up. Now, it slowly softened and swayed in her hand.
Touching her own furry tail didn’t scare her; it even felt somewhat familiar.
Hu Mengmeng had a peculiar feeling, as if something had been added to her mind. She felt an unprecedented clarity in her head. Before, her mind had been like looking through frosted glass, blurry and unclear, but now it was as if the frosted glass had been wiped clean.
“Fox demons living among humans must be extremely careful and never reveal their whereabouts.”
“Demon hunters are the natural enemies of our demon race. When still weak, you must flee immediately upon seeing them!”
“Humans and demons coexist, it was originally the will of heaven, but the demon hunters do not tolerate our demon race. If you can kill a demon hunter, never let the opportunity pass.”
Some concepts, or warnings, rushed into Hu Mengmeng’s consciousness, as if they had always been there, only a corner of them had been unveiled.
Hu Mengmeng remembered the demon hunter she had just seen, and a chill ran down her spine. It was too terrifying. That long sword was too sharp; being stabbed by it would be excruciating!
More and more things kept appearing in Hu Mengmeng’s consciousness, lasting for about ten minutes. They became increasingly blurry and finally disappeared.
“What’s going on?” Hu Mengmeng still wanted to know more, but she couldn’t find anything anymore.
Coming back to her senses, Hu Mengmeng realized that the tail in her hand was gone! She touched her head again, and the pointed ears were also gone.
While feeling a bit disappointed, Hu Mengmeng’s mind became muddled again, and that layer of frosted glass seemed to have returned.
When Hu Mengmeng tried to get up, she found that her legs were weak, and her whole body was sore and limp.
Especially her legs, they felt like she had run eight hundred meters, aching and unable to move.
Could she be crippled?!
Hu Mengmeng took out her phone and dialed Su Mingli’s number.
“Mom, Mom! I’m in trouble, I can’t move!” Hu Mengmeng said into the phone.
“What’s wrong? Aren’t you at home?” Su Mingli was kneading dough to prepare steamed buns when she received Hu Mengmeng’s call. She had just checked the GPS location, and it hadn’t moved.
“Mom, I’m not home, I went out to deliver takeout, I’m at…” Hu Mengmeng gave her address.
Su Mingli was so angry she wanted to hit someone. So all these days, Hu Mengmeng and Tao Tao had been fooling her.
Su Mingli didn’t have time to think much. She took off her apron and quickly rode her electric scooter towards Hu Mengmeng’s location.
Su Mingli arrived at the restroom where Hu Mengmeng was. In one of the stalls, she saw Hu Mengmeng covered in sweat and crying her eyes out.
Su Mingli had wanted to get angry, but seeing Hu Mengmeng like this, she couldn’t bring herself to.
“What happened to you? Are you hurt?” Su Mingli asked Hu Mengmeng, noticing some bloodstains on her chest.
“Mom, I’m not hurt, this is someone else’s. I, I believe what you said a few days ago now. I saw a demon hunter today, saw her kill someone, it was terrifying!” Hu Mengmeng told Su Mingli in a low voice what she had seen, her voice still trembling.
“You dead brat, did you think I was lying to you? You never learn to be careful until you get hurt! You wait here, I’ll get you some clothes to change into, and then we’ll go to the clinic to see what’s wrong with you. We’ll talk about the rest when we get back,” Su Mingli said, looking around. Although it was secluded, she didn’t know if anyone was in the other closed stalls, so she had to be careful.
Su Mingli went to the storage compartment of her electric scooter, took out a short-sleeved shirt for Hu Mengmeng to change into, helped Hu Mengmeng to the scooter, and had her sit down.
“What about Tao Tao’s electric scooter?” Hu Mengmeng asked.
“I’ll come back for it later. You sit tight, we’ll go to the clinic first,” Su Mingli said, taking Hu Mengmeng to a nearby clinic.
A few minutes later, Su Mingli brought Hu Mengmeng to a clinic to see a doctor.
“This is overexertion, excessive lactic acid secretion, and some muscle strain. Massage and hot compress will help. Go back and rest more. You can’t overdo dieting either, don’t be impatient. Take it slowly, control each session within a certain time, and progress gradually,” the retired elderly doctor at the clinic said.
“Go back and rest properly, take a hot bath, soak in it, and don’t mess around anymore!” Su Mingli took Hu Mengmeng back and scolded her a few times.
Hu Mengmeng obediently took the scolding.
Her body was weak; just that short run had caused overexertion.
She dared not try to lose weight through exercise anymore; it was too terrifying.
Back home, Su Mingli massaged Hu Mengmeng while asking her a few questions.
“Where’s the cloth I gave you? Look at it again. There’s already a demon hunter here. What if you get caught? You need to quickly learn how to suppress your bloodline,” Su Mingli said, having understood the general situation, feeling very scared afterward.
“Ah, I put that cloth on the table, why is it gone?” Hu Mengmeng looked at the table, but the cloth was nowhere to be seen.
“Did you throw it away as trash?!” Su Mingli felt her bl00d pressure rising. She shouldn’t have been in such a hurry to give it to Hu Mengmeng. It was her carelessness too; she had been somewhat dazed thinking about that fox spirit.
Besides Tao Tao, no one else had been to their house these past few days. Tao Tao wouldn’t have taken a piece of cloth.
“I, I don’t know. What do we do?” Hu Mengmeng said anxiously.
“What can we do? The garbage truck comes at four or five in the morning to take away the trash. It’s been several days, it’s probably already been crushed!” Su Mingli said, feeling helpless.
“Mom, I’m sorry. I didn’t do it on purpose, I didn’t believe it at that time,” Hu Mengmeng said, seeing Su Mingli’s bad expression, her lips trembling.
“It’s too late to say all that, I was wrong too. You need to control your emotions now, you absolutely can’t get agitated. As long as you don’t show your ears and tail for the time being, the demon hunter won’t be able to find you. Demon hunters also need a certain range to identify demons. Don’t go out these next few days, we’ll take it one step at a time. Go take a hot bath first, I’ll go ride Tao Tao’s electric scooter back,” Su Mingli said to Hu Mengmeng, based on what Hu Mengmeng’s other mother had left behind.
Hu Mengmeng didn’t dare to say much and obediently listened.
Su Mingli went out and rode Tao Tao’s electric scooter back. She went to Tao Tao’s house, returned the keys, and exchanged the phones back.
Su Mingli didn’t say anything to Tao Tao. Tao Tao felt particularly guilty for exposing the matter and brought a bunch of food to Hu Mengmeng after Su Mingli went to the shop.
Because Tao Zhengcheng was usually not home, Tao Tao was mostly looked after by Su Mingli. Su Mingli wouldn’t accept money, so he gave Tao Tao a lot of pocket money to buy food for Hu Mengmeng.
“Don’t go out anymore. Auntie was angry, she didn’t even smile at me today. It’s all my fault. You stay home these next few days, it’s too dangerous outside,” Tao Tao said.
Su Mingli didn’t allow Hu Mengmeng to tell anyone, including Tao Tao, about growing ears and a tail. Their agreed story was that Hu Mengmeng had overexerted her legs while running from bad guys.
“Tao Tao, it’s not your fault, it’s my fault. I won’t deliver takeout anymore. I’ll stay home these days,” Hu Mengmeng said, nodding repeatedly while eating the high-calorie food Tao Tao had brought.
She had basically worked for nothing these past few days because she had thrown away a box of takeout earlier. Going out might mean encountering the demon hunter, and she dared not do that.
All afternoon, Hu Mengmeng kept eating because she was scared or in a bad mood. Tao Tao watched Hu Mengmeng finish all the food, a look of anxiety mixed with excitement in her eyes.
Hu Mengmeng took another hot bath in the evening, finally feeling a little better in her legs and body.
Su Mingli was in a bad mood, so Hu Mengmeng carefully tried to please her. She slowly cleaned the house and, when Su Mingli returned, Hu Mengmeng even picked up her vocabulary book to memorize words, though she didn’t really focus. It was all for Su Mingli’s benefit. When Su Mingli looked at her, she gave a flattering smile.
Su Mingli found it amusing and couldn’t bear to say anything more to her. Her expression softened, and she comforted Hu Mengmeng, who quickly cheered up again.
Hu Mengmeng fell asleep quickly that night. Not long after, she had a nightmare where she grew large, furry ears and a tail and was chased by the woman in black who tried to stab her with a sword.
She woke up suddenly after running through several streets, covered in cold sweat.
Hu Mengmeng sat up, gasping for breath, feeling something poking her under her buttocks. She touched it and realized her tail had grown out again!
