Under the moonlight, by the water’s edge, Shang Qianye tilted her head slightly to gaze at the person standing so close. Luo Jiu, silhouetted against the light, looked down at her, her beautiful brows furrowed slightly, her rosy lips parting and closing as if she were saying something.
But Shang Qianye couldn’t hear her words.
All she could hear was the frantic pounding of her own heart and the voice within her mind:
Her waist is so slender.
Her neck is beautiful too.
That pristine white robe, now soaked, would surely become completely transparent.
Don’t you want to kiss her? When she chatters in your ear every day, haven’t you ever wanted to shut her up with a kiss?
Don’t you want to see her when she’s aroused? Even someone as cold as her would furrow her brow when deeply penetrated, wouldn’t she?
Shang Qianye, Shang Qianye, don’t resist your heart. I know you want her…
“…Qianye?”
Luo Jiu noticed something was wrong. Shang Qianye’s eyes had inexplicably turned crimson, as if she were possessed, staring fixedly at her.
Luo Jiu’s heart tightened. She immediately crouched down and reached out to touch Shang Qianye’s forehead.
“What’s wrong with you?” Luo Jiu asked urgently, her brow furrowed as she looked down at Shang Qianye.
Shang Qianye suddenly felt the person before her draw closer. She felt the warmth of Luo Jiu’s fingertips on her forehead and caught the faint, cool fragrance emanating from her. Without hesitation, Shang Qianye grabbed Luo Jiu’s wrist and yanked her into the pool.
Luo Jiu instinctively wanted to retaliate, but remembering Shang Qianye’s poisoned state, she forced herself to remain still and allowed herself to be pulled into the water.
In the next instant, a pair of icy lips crashed onto Luo Jiu’s, Shang Qianye wrapping her arms around Luo Jiu’s waist and pressing her into a fierce kiss.
“Shang—!”
Before Luo Jiu could finish speaking, Shang Qianye’s tongue darted into her mouth like a snake. In stark contrast to her frigid lips, her tongue was surprisingly warm, thrusting wildly and aggressively into Luo Jiu’s mouth.
The pool wasn’t very deep; when they stood, the water only reached their waists.
Shang Qianye pressed Luo Jiu against the rock, trapping her between the stone and herself. Her mouth clung to Luo Jiu’s lips while her hands brazenly untied the sash of her robe.
Enraged, Luo Jiu’s hand flickered with golden light, but her brow furrowed as she realized her spiritual energy seemed restricted.
Had something fused with her through that kiss?!
Struggling, Luo Jiu wrenched her head away, glaring fiercely at the dazed woman before her. Her face paled with fury as she slapped Shang Qianye hard across the face.
Slap!
“Shang Qianye, do you even know what you’re doing?!” Luo Jiu demanded, her voice icy. Her entire body trembled with rage as she gripped Shang Qianye’s robes, pressing her for answers. “What exactly has possessed you? Why…”
Why, after just one kiss, did her spiritual energy feel utterly useless?
Shang Qianye’s cheek swelled, and she seemed slightly more lucid than before. Yet her eyes remained bloodshot, and when she lifted her gaze to meet Luo Jiu’s, even Luo Jiu felt a sudden pang of unease.
“Shang Qianye…”
Crimson eyes fixed on Luo Jiu’s face and lips, their gaze lingering like a sticky caress that sent shivers down her spine.
“Love gu,” Shang Qianye said, her expression blank despite her drenched face. “That woman poisoned me with a love gu.”
Luo Jiu frowned. “Woman? Are you referring to Holy Maiden Snake Ji of the Bl00d Serpent Palace?”
Shang Qianye nodded slightly.
“I’ve never heard of a love gu,” Luo Jiu said, “but don’t worry. I’ll send you back to the sect immediately.”
As she spoke, Luo Jiu began forming hand seals, preparing to activate a teleportation array to transport them both away. Though her spiritual energy was currently limited, casting a simple array posed no problem. But before she could complete the seals, Shang Qianye stopped her.
“Master,” Shang Qianye whispered, gripping Luo Jiu’s fingertips and leaning close to her earlobe. “Only you can cure my love gu now.”
“What?”
“Master… please help me cure the love gu…”
As the first rays of dawn touched the horizon, the mountain ravine stirred with the sounds of awakening life.
A kingfisher, returning from its hunt, perched on a branch beside the waterfall, cocking its head to observe the two figures sitting and lying by the pool.
Luo Jiu, clad only in a thin undergarment, sat cross-legged on a rock, her hands resting on her knees, her gaze lowered.
She hadn’t closed her eyes once since the previous night.
The events of the night before replayed vividly in her mind. Shang Qianye pinning her to the shore felt as real as if it were happening again. Those crimson eyes had stared fixedly at her, while her mouth chanted “Master, Master” as her hands swiftly stripped off Luo Jiu’s clothes.
Initially, Luo Jiu had been furious, even considering slapping Shang Qianye unconscious, consequences be damned—she’d simply care for her afterward.
Yet Luo Jiu couldn’t bring herself to do it. After all, she had raised this child herself; killing her would break her heart.
I’ll just knock her out and bring her back to the sect, Luo Jiu thought.
But before she could fully formulate her plan, Shang Qianye had already pressed down on her, forcing her legs apart. Luo Jiu’s mind went blank, and she forgot all about knocking her out.
What followed was unspeakable.
Shang Qianye’s movements were rough, causing Luo Jiu considerable pain. Yet the woman possessed inexplicable strength, kneading Luo Jiu’s waist and legs, crushing her soft moans. In the end, Shang Qianye collapsed unconscious after finishing, leaving Luo Jiu alone on the shore, staring blankly.
From moonset to sunrise, Luo Jiu sat there, lost in thought.
She resolved that when Shang Qianye awoke, she would first dislocate both her arms, then break her legs.
She would cripple her cultivation and expel her from the Shimen.
She would reduce her to a cripple, begging in the streets, making her regret what she had done to her last night!
“Ugh…”
Just as Luo Jiu was debating whether to dislocate Shang Qianye’s left or right arm first, she heard a groan nearby.
Shang Qianye lay on the shore, the glaring sunlight forcing her eyes shut. She raised a hand to shield her face, her mind still trying to piece together why she was sleeping here…
Wait!
Shang Qianye bolted upright. She remembered now: last night, she had been infected by the Snake Lady’s love gu. Then her Master, Luo Jiu, had arrived, and she had…
The moment Shang Qianye recalled how she had pinned down the struggling Luo Jiu in the pool, stripped her completely naked, and then… her mind went blank.
Oh heavens! she thought. I spent the night with my own master!
Shang Qianye covered her face, her cheeks flushing crimson and then paling to white. Finally, sensing an unyielding gaze, she tremulously lifted her head and met the cold stare of Luo Jiu, who stood nearby in her undergarments, glaring at her.
I’m done for, Shang Qianye thought. Master is definitely plotting to dislocate my arms first, then break my legs, cripple my martial arts, and finally expel me from the Shimen!
Luo Jiu’s icy glare seemed to confirm her worst fears.
Thump.
Shang Qianye dropped to her knees with a crisp sound, frantically calling out to Luo Jiu, “Master, I didn’t mean to do it!”
After Shang Qianye had dressed herself and helped Luo Jiu put on her clothes, she knelt before her, not daring to lift her head, and meticulously recounted the events of the previous night.
“The Snake Lady lured me here and, in league with a man in black, knocked me unconscious. Afterward, they implanted a Gu worm in my body.” Shang Qianye rolled up her sleeve to show Luo Jiu the mark on her arm. A small, healed puncture wound was visible on her forearm, but something still seemed to be moving beneath her skin, within her veins.
Luo Jiu glanced at it briefly, signaling Shang Qianye to continue.
“Then they left,” Shang Qianye said, piecing together the events after her unconsciousness. “When I woke up, I felt burning hot all over. I found this place to rest, and then… then you arrived, Master.”
Shang Qianye couldn’t bring herself to speak of what happened next, fearing Luo Jiu would break her legs.
As Luo Jiu listened to Shang Qianye’s account, her expression darkened, leaving it unclear whether her anger was directed at the Snake Lady or at Shang Qianye herself.
After an agonizing wait, Shang Qianye finally heard Luo Jiu sigh deeply. Her voice was cold as she said, “I understand. Form the seal. We’re returning to Lingxiao.”
Shang Qianye’s face lit up with relief. She immediately clasped her hands in a respectful bow. “Yes, Master!”
Kunlun Mountain, Lingxiao Sect.
A golden light flared from the teleportation array before the mountain gate. The disciples guarding the gate approached as the light faded, revealing Luo Jiu and Shang Qianye standing within the array.
The disciples bowed in unison. “Elder Luo Jiu, welcome back.”
Luo Jiu strode past them without a word, her expression impassive. Shang Qianye nodded politely as they passed through Lingxiao Sect’s protective barrier.
The sect’s unique blue-white barrier light enveloped them like an inverted glass bowl, shielding the hundreds of peaks that comprised Lingxiao Sect. Luo Jiu had personally constructed this barrier, which not only detected demonic intrusions but also possessed the power to calm the mind and purify the spirit.
After the blue-white glow faded, Luo Jiu arrived at the sect’s front mountain, currently the busiest area.
The previous night’s raid on the Bl00d Serpent Palace had mobilized many disciples. Even now, the front mountain teemed with activity. Shang Qianye watched the disciples bustling about from a distance, surmising that the captured Bl00d Serpent Palace cultists were likely imprisoned in the cliffside dungeons, undergoing interrogation.
“Elder Luo.”
“Greetings, Elder Luo Jiu.”
“Elder Luo Jiu, good morning! Good morning, Senior Sister Shang!”
Throughout the journey, many people greeted Luo Jiu and Shang Qianye. Luo Jiu maintained her usual icy demeanor, while Shang Qianye followed behind, nodding and smiling, appearing much more approachable.
In truth, Shang Qianye was deeply uneasy during the entire journey. She repeatedly stole glances at Luo Jiu, fearing she wouldn’t survive this ordeal.
Watching Luo Jiu’s ramrod-straight back and the slender waist cinched tightly by her white jade belt, Shang Qianye inexplicably recalled the previous night. Under the moonlight, Luo Jiu had shed her elaborate robes, revealing her soft abdomen and serpentine waist, a stark contrast to her usual aloof appearance.
Shang Qianye blinked slightly, thinking, Thank goodness I was poisoned last night. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t even dare to imagine such things.
Just as Shang Qianye’s mind was drifting into reverie, Luo Jiu suddenly stopped ahead. Shang Qianye quickly halted as well, tilting her head in confusion. She was about to point out that this wasn’t their residence when she noticed the brightly lit plaque above them, bearing three large characters: Hall of Punishment.
Shang Qianye: “……”
So, I can’t escape the fate of having my legs broken, my martial arts abolished, and being expelled from the Shimen after all?!
