Master, Please Help Me Break the Love Curse! - Chapter 30
In Qin Wangyue’s room, spiritual energy flowed, gradually materializing a woman in a crimson dress before the table. She leaned against the surface, her delicate brows and eyes lowered, before slowly lifting her gaze.
Qin Wangyue sat opposite her, silent.
“Heh,” the Snake Lady scoffed, her voice dripping with mockery. “I wonder who it was who swore to us just days ago that they would kill Shang Qianye on her birthday, the day she emerged from seclusion, and give us our due.”
Qin Wangyue’s expression darkened slightly, but she quickly regained her composure, sitting upright as she replied, “I believe Shang Qianye would have emerged for a crucial matter, not something as trivial as last night.”
The Snake Lady rolled her eyes and snorted coldly.
Qin Wangyue continued, “I learned from Shang Qianye that the Heavenly Dao Brake’s Barrier will weaken in fifteen days, which is why Luo Jiu must enter seclusion every half-month to repair it. If we kill Shang Qianye and severely injure Luo Jiu when the Barrier is at its weakest, it will be far easier to breach.”
The Snake Lady turned her gaze toward Qin Wangyue, resting her chin in her palm. “Are you just making excuses for your incompetence?”
“I’m simply suggesting the most advantageous approach,” Qin Wangyue replied. “We can’t focus solely on the immediate situation. Maximizing our long-term gains should be our priority.”
“So, you’re saying we should wait another ten days to kill Shang Qianye?”
“Yes.”
The Snake Lady burst into laughter, a mocking glint in her eyes. “Qin Wangyue, you learned nothing at the Lingxiao Sect except how to shirk responsibility.”
Qin Wangyue frowned, meeting her gaze calmly.
“I’ve trusted you, yet I’ve had to clean up your messes time and again.” The Snake Lady’s smile vanished, her gaze turning cold and serpentine. “Once is enough, twice is too much, and three times is unforgivable. If you fail to kill Shang Qianye this time, don’t blame me for killing you.”
“This time, success is guaranteed,” Qin Wangyue assured her.
The Snake Lady leaned back in her chair, her voice indifferent. “Then tell me about your plan.”
Jade Court Forest.
After being thoroughly exhausted all night, Luo Jiu slept straight through until late morning.
When she woke, the other side of the bed was empty. She reached out and touched the sheets; they were cold, indicating Shang Qianye had been up for some time.
Lying in bed, Luo Jiu had no desire to get up.
Ever since following Yu Shiyan’s advice and prematurely removing the Gu a day early, Shang Qianye had become increasingly brazen. Her initial cautiousness had vanished completely, replaced by a mind obsessed with carnal desires after tasting the forbidden fruit.
Whether it was the morning after the Gu removal when she had been intimate with Luo Jiu, or last night when she had forced Luo Jiu to pleasure her despite it not being the right time, Shang Qianye had practically written “taking advantage” on her face.
Luo Jiu closed her eyes and sighed in despair. How could a person change so drastically?
Lust blinds reason.
Lust blinds reason…
After lying down for a while, Luo Jiu began to feel uncomfortable. Her entire body felt sticky, especially in those… intimate areas. She desperately wanted to take a bath.
As soon as her feet touched the floor after getting out of bed, Shang Qianye returned from outside.
“Master,” Shang Qianye greeted.
Shang Qianye’s eyes lit up at the sight of Luo Jiu awake. She hurried over, gently supporting Luo Jiu’s waist and pulling her into a tender embrace.
Luo Jiu frowned and pushed her away.
But Shang Qianye didn’t budge.
Still holding Luo Jiu’s waist, Shang Qianye lowered her head and asked, “Master wants to take a bath? I just finished running the water. Shall I take you there now?”
Luo Jiu didn’t care, but she did need a bath. She gave an indifferent “Mmm,” never expecting Shang Qianye to bend down and scoop her up into her arms.
“What are you doing?!” Luo Jiu exclaimed, startled, clutching Shang Qianye’s shoulders and staring at her in alarm.
Shang Qianye replied calmly, “Taking Master to her bath.”
Being held in someone’s arms felt strangely unsettling. Luo Jiu felt her feet dangling in mid-air, lacking any sense of security. But Shang Qianye quickly carried her to the bath, so Luo Jiu decided not to protest.
Sinking into the warm water, Luo Jiu sighed contentedly. The water seemed to have been infused with something that eased her muscles and improved circulation, instantly relieving the ache in her lower back and legs.
Originally, Luo Jiu had planned to enjoy a luxurious soak alone. But in the blink of an eye, Shang Qianye had stripped off her clothes and slipped into the bath.
Luo Jiu refused.
Luo Jiu was kissed.
Luo Jiu bit Shang Qianye’s lip until it bled.
The result? Luo Jiu was pinned against the edge of the bath, Shang Qianye’s arms wrapped around her slender waist from behind, leaving her utterly at her mercy.
Luo Jiu, burning with shame and fury, couldn’t resist glaring back at her. But this only seemed to excite Shang Qianye further. Her face flushed crimson as she pressed herself against Luo Jiu’s back, their skin touching intimately.
Shang Qianye kneaded Luo Jiu’s warm body, leaving a kiss on her neck. “Master,” she murmured, “you’re seducing me again.”
What was supposed to be a relaxing soak to ease her muscles had turned into a half-day ordeal, leaving Luo Jiu anything but relaxed.
Afterward, Luo Jiu sat on the couch, her weary eyes fixed on Shang Qianye, who knelt before her, dressing her. She couldn’t even muster the energy to acknowledge her.
This woman never knows when to stop.
Yesterday’s intimacy, fueled by alcohol, could be excused as a drunken lapse. But this morning, fully sober, Shang Qianye had insisted on another encounter in the bath. With days still remaining until the sixth or seventh day when the Gu would be dispelled, the only explanation was that Shang Qianye simply wanted her.
How annoying.
Luo Jiu’s face was etched with exhaustion, yet her eyes held a resolute glint. Shang Qianye knew that Luo Jiu would inevitably leave her.
“What happened in the bath today was my fault,” Shang Qianye said, sitting on the couch and clasping Luo Jiu’s hand, her gaze lowered. “But Master, I truly love you. You’ve always been the only person in my heart.”
Luo Jiu tried to pull her hand away, unwilling to hear these words, but Shang Qianye’s grip tightened.
When she looked up, she found herself staring into Shang Qianye’s dark eyes.
“Master,” Luo Jiu murmured.
Shang Qianye took Luo Jiu’s hand and pressed it against her cheek, gazing at her with profound intensity. “Ever since you brought me back when I was six, you’ve been an indispensable part of my life. I know you only grew close to me to help me remove the Gu, and that you see me merely as a disciple.”
“But I’m different,” Shang Qianye continued. “I adore you, I love you, and I want to be with you for all eternity. That’s why I need to make this clear today: unless Master expels me from the Shimen or lets the love gu consume me, I will never stop loving you.”
Luo Jiu’s heart raced with panic at these words. Her eyes darted away, avoiding Shang Qianye’s gaze as she forcefully withdrew her hand.
“Are you… still drunk?” Luo Jiu asked, frowning.
Shang Qianye looked at Luo Jiu with disappointment and shook her head. “Whether it was today or yesterday, I’ve been perfectly sober. I know exactly what I’m doing.”
Luo Jiu couldn’t help but glance at her.
“If I didn’t tell you how I feel, Master, you probably wouldn’t give me a second thought for the rest of your life,” Shang Qianye said. “So I’ve made up my mind: you need to know how much I love you.”
“But what’s the point of knowing? You’ll only cause me more trouble.”
“If Master doesn’t like me, why would she consider me a nuisance?”
“You…” Luo Jiu snapped, “You’re just twisting words!”
Shang Qianye chuckled, reaching out to wrap her arm around Luo Jiu’s waist and resting her head on her shoulder. Her voice softened as she said, “I understand Master’s concerns. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely act like a proper disciple in public. I’ll never cause you any trouble.”
As for how she would behave in private, Shang Qianye made no promises.
Luo Jiu was even more troubled by this intimate gesture. She couldn’t quite articulate her feelings, only sensing that arguing further would be futile. After all, she couldn’t simply abandon Shang Qianye.
It seemed their fates were intertwined, destined to remain entangled.
“Fine,” Luo Jiu said, giving up in exasperation. “Do as you please.”
She couldn’t control Shang Qianye anyway. Besides, Qianye had always been sensible since childhood. Now that they’d had this conversation, she probably wouldn’t cause any public scenes… right?
Seeing Luo Jiu’s compromise, Shang Qianye felt exceptionally pleased.
Although Luo Jiu hadn’t explicitly agreed to her advances, she hadn’t rejected them either. Shang Qianye believed that with patience, Luo Jiu would eventually fall for her.
Soon after, Shang Qianye prepared desserts for Luo Jiu, who had been “working hard” all day. Luo Jiu ate comfortably until late afternoon, when she noticed a long string of sound transmission talismans floating behind Shang Qianye’s head. New talismans even lined up behind her, waiting to be read.
Both Shang Qianye, who had been hovering around her all day, and the endless stream of talismans behind her head irritated Luo Jiu. She frowned impatiently and snapped, “If you have something to do, go do it. Stop making up excuses to bother me.”
Shang Qianye pressed her lips together, gazing at Luo Jiu with pleading eyes. Remembering that progress required patience, she decided she had already spent enough time in Luo Jiu’s presence for one day and resolved to resume her efforts the next day.
“Then, I’ll head back for today,” Shang Qianye said reluctantly, standing at the door and gazing at Luo Jiu. “I have a morning class tomorrow. I’ll come see Master after it ends.”
Luo Jiu didn’t reply. With a flick of her sleeve, she slammed the door shut with a resounding bang.
Shang Qianye rubbed her nose and wisely retreated.
On her way back, Shang Qianye reviewed the sound transmission talismans that had drifted her way. Most of them were from Gu Yunqing.
Sound transmission talismans weren’t cheap, yet the young mistress of the Lingxiao Sect, the Sect Leader’s daughter, seemed to have an endless supply of money. She had sent over a dozen talismans in a single day. Why not use that money for something more useful?
Shang Qianye sighed and activated each talisman to listen to the messages.
Senior Sister, why did you suddenly leave yesterday? Senior Sister Qin said you went to see Junior Aunt. It’s already the second day, and you still haven’t returned?
Senior Sister, are you back yet? I’ve been waiting for you at Ginkgo Courtyard for half the day. Why aren’t you replying?
The rest of the messages were mostly Gu Yunqing’s idle chatter or urging her to return. It wasn’t until the final sound transmission talisman that she finally stopped in her tracks.
Senior Sister, hurry back! I just received news that the Demonic Sect disciples we captured a few days ago couldn’t withstand the interrogation and confessed. They said the Snake Lady was the one who ordered them to kill the Little Princess.
