After treating Shang Qianye’s back wound, Qin Wangyue left, leaving behind several medicinal pills and instructing Shang Qianye to take them on time.
Once she was gone, Gu Yunqing sat by the bed and began fanning Shang Qianye with a small fan, her cheeks flushed from the effort. After the ointment on Shang Qianye’s back had dried, Gu Yunqing carefully bandaged the wound before helping her dress.
“Senior Sister Shang, does it still hurt?” Gu Yunqing asked anxiously. “Did I wrap it too tightly?”
Shang Qianye stretched her limbs and smiled reassuringly. “It’s wrapped perfectly. I feel much better now.”
Gu Yunqing’s face lit up with relief.
“Alright, it’s getting late. You should head back,” Shang Qianye said. “I need to go to the Immortal Ancestor Shrine now, so I can’t keep you company.”
Though Gu Yunqing hated the thought of Shang Qianye kneeling in the shrine, she knew it was Luo Jiu’s command and couldn’t be disobeyed. Reluctantly, she clutched the hem of her skirt and said, “Then Senior Sister, remember to take your medicine on time. I’ll come visit you again when you’re released in seven days.”
Shang Qianye smiled and patted the younger girl’s head.
The Immortal Ancestor Shrine stood atop the highest peak of the Lingxiao Sect, a place perpetually covered in snow and bitterly cold. Few ventured there except for the disciples guarding the shrine. After exchanging greetings with the gatekeeper, Shang Qianye dismissed Gu Yunqing. The younger girl lingered, her eyes filled with reluctance as she tugged at Shang Qianye’s sleeve, urging her to take care of herself.
The ancestral shrine was cold and desolate, the ground covered in pristine white snow that reflected the gloomy, overcast sky. A biting wind pierced through her bones, chilling her to the core.
The gatekeeper disciple led Shang Qianye into the shrine. Though she had occasionally visited the shrine for official duties, this was the first time she had been sentenced to kneel in penance.
“Senior Sister Shang, this is the Immortal Ancestor Shrine,” the disciple said, opening the heavy wooden doors. “According to Sect Rules, you must kneel here for seven days without visitors, reflecting deeply on your transgressions. I will return to open the doors after seven days.”
Shang Qianye nodded. “Thank you.”
As she stepped inside, the massive wooden doors slammed shut behind her. Turning, she saw a white array materialize on the doors, its familiar spiritual energy confirming that Luo Jiu herself had cast it to prevent punished disciples from sneaking out.
Shang Qianye shook her head with a wry smile and surveyed the shrine’s interior.
The shrine was dimly lit, despite the daylight outside. Candles flickered, yet the entire space remained shrouded in darkness. Amidst the gloom, a faint sandalwood fragrance lingered, calming the mind.
Statues of past Sect Leaders of the Lingxiao Sect lined the walls, while at the center stood a colossal black sword. Legend claimed it had been left behind by the Founding Ancestor of the Lingxiao Sect and had long served as the sect’s most treasured artifact.
Without hesitation, Shang Qianye knelt before the black sword, closed her eyes, and began her penance.
Seven days later.
Luo Jiu emerged from the Heavenly Dao Brake, her expression troubled.
For the past two days, she had felt unwell for some reason. Fortunately, the barrier around the Heavenly Dao Brake had been mostly repaired, allowing her to maintain it despite her discomfort.
Luo Jiu attributed her fatigue to exhaustion. After all, she had been on missions for an extended period and immediately returned to repair the barrier. It was only natural to feel drained.
“Elder Luo Jiu, you’ve emerged from seclusion?”
The disciples guarding the Heavenly Dao Brake bowed respectfully as Luo Jiu appeared.
“I need to rest for the next few days,” Luo Jiu instructed them. “Remain vigilant. If anything arises, come find me in the Jade Court Forest.”
“Yes, Elder!” the disciples replied in unison.
Upon returning to the Jade Court Forest, Luo Jiu’s discomfort intensified. She began experiencing dizziness and heart palpitations, her heart pounding as if it would burst from her chest. Her body gradually grew feverish, filling her with a growing sense of unease.
What’s happening to me?
She felt as if she had forgotten something crucial…
Immortal Ancestor Shrine.
Shang Qianye knelt on the meditation cushion, her face pale and her forehead covered in fine beads of sweat that trickled down her nose and temples.
It’s been seven days, Shang Qianye. She hasn’t come to see you yet. She’s clearly determined to punish you.
In her mind, Shang Qianye heard her own thoughts again.
The voice, like a devil, lingered in her mind, impossible to ignore.
Why do you resist me? What I’m saying is exactly what you’re thinking, Shang Qianye. I am you…
Shang Qianye’s lips trembled slightly as she whispered, “No…”
She had never thought such things. Although Luo Jiu was her master, punishing her with whippings and kneeling in the Immortal Ancestor Shrine, Shang Qianye knew Luo Jiu must have her reasons. Besides, she had forced herself on Luo Jiu that night. If Luo Jiu had truly wanted to, she could have killed her with a single palm strike. Why would she have brought her back to the Mountain Gate instead?
Heh, do you really think that woman is so kind? Wake up, Shang Qianye. Deep down, you were glad something like that happened between you, weren’t you?
Can you honestly say you haven’t thought about that night even once during these days of punishment?
Normally, that woman is so cold and demanding, always ordering you around. But that night, when she grabbed your shoulders and resisted, didn’t her struggle stir something within you?
“I didn’t…”
Don’t you want to get close to her again?
Sweat poured down Shang Qianye’s face. She clenched her fists so tightly that her nails dug into her flesh, yet she felt no pain.
The voice in her mind seemed to mock her stubbornness, its contempt palpable.
Shang Qianye, oh Shang Qianye, admit it. You long to see your Master’s face flushed crimson as she writhes beneath you. You’ve touched her waist before, haven’t you? Don’t you want to feel it again?
Her lips are so soft, her br3asts so tender—and what lies beneath… even softer.
I yearn to hear her cry out my name in ecstasy. The tip of her tongue, pink as she gasps in pleasure, her chest rising and falling beautifully—I want to see it all again.
Ideally, every day, every night.
What do you say, Shang Qianye…?
The voice in her mind was like a curse, each word striking at the core of Shang Qianye’s heart.
She had to admit that when she first learned what had happened with Luo Jiu, her initial reaction wasn’t fear or worry, but joy.
She was overjoyed.
Even on the way back, her mind was flooded with images of their intimate moments. Even while kneeling in penance at the Immortal Ancestor Shrine, she dreamed of Luo Jiu clinging to her waist, her panicked expression, her pale skin, her fingers digging into Shang Qianye’s arm in pain.
At that time, even Luo Jiu’s curses sounded beautiful to her.
But now, Shang Qianye felt only agony. The voice in her mind was right: she longed to be close to Luo Jiu again, to be intimate with her day and night, to indulge in such madness.
But Shang Qianye knew painfully that she couldn’t do it.
“She won’t agree…”
Shang Qianye opened her crimson eyes, clutching her chest tightly as she said in anguish, “If I do it again, she’ll truly hate me.”
Who knows? the voice in her mind mocked. Do it again, and you’ll find out.
Do it again…Â again?
Do it again. If she could just be with Luo Jiu one more time, she would gladly kill her afterward.
The moment this thought surfaced, Shang Qianye felt the door behind her open from the outside. Kneeling on the floor, she slowly turned her head and saw the person she had been fantasizing about.
Luo Jiu’s dark eyes fixed intently on the kneeling figure in the Immortal Ancestor Shrine. She noticed Shang Qianye’s eyes had turned red again.
Look! The woman you’ve been longing for is right in front of you! She must have heard your thoughts and come here specifically to fulfill your desires!
Though Shang Qianye knew the voice in her mind was spouting nonsense, she couldn’t help but feel tempted. She knew it was impossible, but she still wanted to indulge in the fantasy. What if…?
What if… Luo Jiu also wanted to be close to her?
She must have enjoyed it that day, right?
She must have enjoyed it too.
“Master…”
Shang Qianye stared intently at the woman she had longed for day and night. From the moment she laid eyes on Luo Jiu, her mouth went dry, and the desire within her surged uncontrollably. She wanted to make love to her Master right there in the Immortal Ancestor Shrine.
To have Luo Jiu writhe in pleasure before the ancestral tablets—that would be incredibly thrilling.
Perhaps Shang Qianye’s gaze was too blatant. Luo Jiu didn’t even need to hear her words to know what she was thinking. Her face paled with anger as she strode over and slapped Shang Qianye across the face.
This time, it was the other cheek.
Before the slap landed, Shang Qianye first caught a whiff of Luo Jiu’s distinctive fragrance.
“Control your filthy thoughts!” Luo Jiu snapped. “If you dare utter another word before we return, I’ll throw you off Kunlun Mountain immediately!”
As they made their way back through the Jade Court Forest, Luo Jiu could feel Shang Qianye’s relentless gaze burning into her back.
Hot, piercing.
Fortunately, it was late, and Shang Qianye’s crimson eyes weren’t as noticeable. The people they encountered along the way bowed respectfully to Luo Jiu, likely oblivious to Shang Qianye’s strange stare.
But the moment they emerged from the forest and reached Luo Jiu’s residence, Shang Qianye’s restraint vanished.
Previously, the two had maintained a distance of at least three to five steps between them. But as soon as they reached a secluded spot, Shang Qianye pressed herself against Luo Jiu, her hand already sliding around Luo Jiu’s waist before she could even enter the house.
Luo Jiu turned to slap Shang Qianye again, but the woman behind her moved faster. Seeing Luo Jiu turn, Shang Qianye gripped her waist and pulled her into the house.
Bang! The door slammed shut.
“Shang Qianye!”
Luo Jiu found herself tightly held in Shang Qianye’s arms. One hand gripped her waist while the other impatiently began untying her sash. A sharp crack finally brought Shang Qianye’s movements to a momentary halt.
Shang Qianye tilted her head, her cheek flushed crimson from the slap. She pressed her tongue against the roof of her mouth before slowly turning her head, her scarlet eyes fixed on the woman in her arms.
“Master hit me again.”
Shang Qianye seized Luo Jiu’s hand and pressed it against her stinging cheek, her voice tinged with grievance. “If Master came to find me, wasn’t it because she wanted to do that with me? Why won’t she admit it?”
Shang Qianye leaned closer, her nose brushing against Luo Jiu’s as she whispered, “That night in the pool, Master was certainly moaning loudly enough.”
