My Alpha Has a Split Personality - Chapter 18
As Jiang Muning’s words left her lips, Mother Chi’s face turned the color of liver, her fingers gripping the doorframe, nostrils flaring with rage.
She had deliberately dressed in a tasteful yet luxurious outfit today—one that cost tens of thousands when combined—and applied exquisite makeup. When she left the house in the morning, all the neighbors had complimented her elegance.
And now, to be called a housemaid.
A housemaid—such an insulting term.
It agitated her pheromones into turmoil. Mother Chi was an Alpha with formidable mental energy, and the oppressive aura she radiated was overwhelming.
She had often used this method to discipline Chi Yunhan in the past. Over time, the pressure from her pheromones would leave Chi Yunhan physically unwell, frequently even causing nosebleeds.
Mother Chi shot a cold glare at Chi Yunhan, preparing to unleash her pheromonal dominance.
But Jiang Muning pulled Chi Yunhan behind her, slipping a hand into her pocket as she remarked, “Are you just talking nonsense, or are you releasing pheromones that smell like rotten bugs?”
Mother Chi was so furious her pheromones scattered chaotically. Jiang Muning raised a finger to block her nose.
Mother Chi trembled with rage. “Do you even know who I am?”
“Don’t tell me someone who looks like you could be my darling’s mother?” Jiang Muning gave her a horrified look. “No way, right?”
She then tightened her arm around Chi Yunhan’s shoulder and asked in confusion, “Darling, who is she?”
My darling, my darling!!!
Chi Yunhan felt dizzy. How—how could Jiang Muning call her that?
Great. Now Jiang Muning wasn’t just improvising—she was rewriting the script entirely.
In an instant, Mother Chi’s oppressive aura vanished without a trace. Chi Yunhan couldn’t help but giggle, whispering to Jiang Muning, “She’s my mom.”
“She’s really your mom?” Jiang Muning turned her head, staring at Chi Yunhan in shock before glancing back at Mother Chi with a mix of disdain and disbelief.
Her expression was completely genuine.
Chi Yunhan had initially thought she was acting, but it turned out Jiang Muning had genuinely mistaken Mother Chi for someone else. The realization made the insult even more devastating.
Chi Yunhan nodded. “Really.”
Jiang Muning looked pained, tilting her head as she said, “I assumed someone as beautiful as you, an Omega, would have a stunning mother. I didn’t expect her to look like a housemaid… Maybe her outfit just doesn’t suit her today.”
With that, she cast a cold glance at Mother Chi, who looked ready to spit bl00d, then pulled Chi Yunhan forward as if to demonstrate proper fashion sense.
Mother Chi snapped, “If you don’t want to stay, then get out! Both of you, leave!”
Jiang Muning turned to Chi Yunhan. “Should we go?”
Chi Yunhan had only come today because Chi Yurong had invited her back, claiming their parents wanted to see her. One glance was enough. She nodded. “Let’s go.”
As they turned to leave, Father Chi hurried over. “Hey, what’s all the arguing about?” He winked meaningfully at Mother Chi. “Yunhan, come back inside. Your mother may have a sharp tongue, but she means well—she’s just worried about you. Come on, bring your girlfriend in.”
Then, his gaze flickered casually—but the moment it landed on Chi Yunhan, he froze. His lips trembled as he gasped, “M-Madam… You—you’ve returned…?”
Mother Chi yanked him back, shooting him a glare before coldly snapping, “What nonsense are you spouting? She’s nothing but an ungrateful wretch!”
Father Chi wiped his face and then looked at the person beside Chi Yunhan. Jiang Muning’s attire also shocked him. In everyone’s perception, Alphas from the Assistance Center were all disabled, lower-class Alphas.
He forced a smile and said, “You must be Hanhan’s girlfriend. Come in and talk. Don’t stand outside—come in and sit.”
Jiang Muning was about to step inside but paused, extending her hand to Chi Yunhan. “Hold my hand. Don’t let go, no matter where we are.”
“Mhm…” Chi Yunhan felt a little embarrassed, her face slightly flushed as she floated on air. She introduced the family situation, “I also have an older sister.”
Chi Yurong wasn’t visible inside the house. Chi Yunhan added, “She likes to come in after me. It gives her a grand entrance kind of feeling.”
Jiang Muning gave an acknowledging hum and briefly surveyed the home—two hundred square meters, two floors, plenty of empty rooms, yet they had driven Chi Yunhan out to live elsewhere.
As she observed, Chi Yunhan’s voice sounded in her ear again, “She’s not a good person, and she’s not as pretty as me, hmph.”
Just then, laughter and chatter drifted in from outside, sounding very much like a close-knit family, making Chi Yunhan and Jiang Muning inside seem like outsiders.
Chi Yunhan glanced at the wall, pretending not to care, and squeezed Jiang Muning’s hand tighter to reassure her.
The first to enter was Chi Yurong, who froze momentarily upon seeing the scene inside. Jiang Muning was strikingly beautiful—her white shirt paired with tailored trousers exuded a goddess-like aura. How had Chi Yunhan managed to land such a stunning girlfriend?
She asked, “You are…?”
Jiang Muning turned to look at her, standing tall and poised as she replied coolly, “Hello, I’m Chi Yunhan’s Alpha, Jiang Muning.”
Chi Yurong responded with a gentle smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Hello, I’m Chi Yurong, Hanhan’s sister.”
Watching this exchange, Chi Yunhan grew anxious. Her wife looked so breathtaking today—what if Chi Yurong got any ideas and tried to flirt with her?
Chi Yunhan coughed and said, “Didn’t your fiancé come? I thought he was supposed to be here.”
Chi Yurong replied, “Do you want to see him? Well, it has been a while. You two used to get along quite well—you should catch up later.”
There was something odd about her tone, as if implying Chi Yunhan had some lingering feelings for her boyfriend.
Chi Yurong bent down to change her shoes at the doorway, lips curling slightly. Then she leaned against the wall and studied Chi Yunhan.
Chi Yunhan was actually wearing a necklace, paired with that black dress—it was like a complete transformation.
Most shocking of all, there was a “T” embroidered on the clasp at her back, unmistakably the signature style of an internationally renowned designer.
Only Twilight wore designs from that particular designer in the entire country.
This entire ensemble had to cost at least a million. Had Chi Yunhan really landed a wealthy partner?
If Chi Yunhan had come alone, Chi Yurong might have assumed she was wearing knockoffs. But with Jiang Muning by her side…
A person’s aura was hard to fake. Jiang Muning had her hands tucked into her pockets, her posture straight, her tilted head exuding an air of arrogance and nobility.
Chi Yunhan’s luck was too good—she had somehow picked up such a gorgeous, wealthy Alpha from the Assistance Center.
Chi Yurong walked over, ready to greet Jiang Muning. As soon as she got close, she overheard Jiang Muning whispering to Chi Yunhan, “Your sister really isn’t as pretty as you. Does her boyfriend have ideas about you? Does he think his girlfriend is ugly and wants to find someone prettier?”
“Your sister must be your mother’s own flesh and bl00d.”
Chi Yunhan didn’t understand the implication. “Why do you say that?”
Jiang Muning replied, “Same stench.”
“Huh?”
“Even though she’s standing at the door and I’m this far away, I can still smell the stink on her. Ugh, now there’s even a sour whiff of jealousy toward you.”
Chi Yurong gritted her teeth, her body stiffening. Her pheromones carried a citrus fragrance—sweet but not cloying. In the perfume industry, it was a key ingredient used to craft many high-end scents. Whether Alpha or Omega, no one could resist her pheromones.
Jiang Muning was still talking to Chi Yunhan, slightly tilting her body to sniff at Chi Yunhan’s neck. “Has anyone ever told you how good you smell, hmm?”
Chi Yunhan blushed. “Yes, you’re always saying I smell nice.” She shifted away slightly. Jiang Muning had never done this before, but today she was acting bolder, constantly leaning in.
Shyly, she murmured, “Stop sniffing me. Aren’t you afraid you’ll go into heat?”
Jiang Muning chased after her, intoxicated by her pheromones. She took a deep inhale. “So what if I go into heat? I’m not scared. You’re so sweet—let me smell you again.”
