My Best Friend is so Popular it's a Problem (BL) - Chapter 18
“Hey, Hayato!”
Sora came over and lightly smacked Hayato on the head.
“Just because you’re ‘dating’ doesn’t mean you should keep him like that. Yuto’s ears… heck, even his neck is bright red, you know?”
“Huh?”
Hayato pulled back to look at my face after Sora’s comment. I’m sure my face was completely red, and Hayato’s eyes widened for a moment when he saw it… then his expression shifted into something complicated—a mix of amusement and teasing, almost like a smile.
“Sorry, Yuto… I know you’re shy, but…”
As he said that, Hayato slowly brushed his lips across mine. The way he did it was so deliberate, so suggestive, my heart started racing again.
“H-Hay… Hayato…”
Bam!
“Hey…!”
“Enough! We’re going to be late for class if you don’t stop!”
“Soraaa!”
Hayato must have been hit a little hard. He looked up at Sora with watery eyes while rubbing his head.
Sora made a face like, ‘what can I do?’ and leaned toward us.
“Overacting like that will bite you later, you know?”
Sora muttered quietly, almost like a whisper. Then his serious face carried a weight that jabbed something deep inside me. Hayato raised one eyebrow sharply at Sora, his expression momentarily frozen.
“C’mon, let’s head to class! We’re the center of everyone’s attention anyway.”
Sora’s voice was bright and loud this time, completely different from before. He patted both our shoulders lightly.
“…Yeah.”
At Sora’s words, Hayato finally let go of me and started walking toward the classroom. I followed, and only then did I notice—we really were the center of attention. Almost the whole class was looking down the hallway at us.
“See you later.”
“Ah, yeah.”
As we headed to our seats, Hayato tapped my shoulder lightly before going to his own desk. Sora also raised one hand to wave and then went to his seat, just like Hayato.
When I sat down and stole a glance at Hayato, he was leaning back in his chair, stifling a yawn—typical for someone who’s not a morning person. Sora was just as normal. He had his textbook out, preparing for class, and even started flipping through it.
Seeing my friends acting so normally felt like a punch to the gut. It was as if our suggestive hallway encounter had already been completely forgotten.
And yet, I was still struggling alone, unsure how to process Sora’s meaning behind his cryptic words from earlier.
