My Boss Always Flirts With Me - Chapter 33
Chapter 33: A Dream
That night, Fang Ci had a dream.
In the dream, he was still going to and from work with He Chi, just as they were now, but the season outside the window had changed to a bright spring day in March.
That day, they finished work and were waiting at a crosswalk by the subway entrance on their way home. From the corner of his eye, he saw someone selling flowers on the street. He reached out and tugged on He Chi’s sleeve.
“Teacher He, what day is it today?” He heard himself say in the dream.
He Chi thought seriously for a few seconds. He looked at Fang Ci, stopped the car, and got out. Fang Ci’s face lit up with a smile as he watched He Chi walk towards the flower seller and return with a bouquet of red roses.
Fang Ci’s eyes were smiling. When He Chi got back in the car, he said, “It’s not an anniversary today.”
Fang Ci nodded and said, “I know.”
He Chi turned to him, holding out the bouquet of roses, his eyes full of a gentle smile. Fang Ci could feel his good mood and the visible doting. He said, “It’s okay. Today can be.”
Fang Ci held the flowers, deliberately not looking at him, and touched his nose. “Teacher He, you’re so good at saying sweet things.”
He Chi laughed. He held the steering wheel with both hands and rubbed it a few times. He suddenly leaned over, unbuckled Fang Ci’s seatbelt, and asked, “What’s the reward for buying flowers?”
Fang Ci couldn’t control the corners of his mouth. He shifted in his seat. “There isn’t one.”
He Chi didn’t care. He pulled him over and put him on his lap. Fang Ci gasped softly but didn’t struggle at all. They looked at each other over the roses, and Fang Ci stared into his eyes, not moving.
He Chi’s hand was hot and cupped the back of his neck.
The air was filled with a suggestive atmosphere. Fang Ci couldn’t take it anymore. He blushed and pecked him on the corner of his lips. “Is this reward okay?”
He Chi’s eyes were a deep color. He said softly, “It’s not enough.”
He used a little more force, and Fang Ci’s nose touched his.
Their lips and tongues went from touching to intertwining in just two or three seconds. It was more passionate than ever. Fang Ci was completely submerged in a pink bubble. He felt He Chi’s fiery temperature, which had shed its coolness and distance, and he gave himself entirely to him.
He put his hand on He Chi’s shoulder, gripping tighter and tighter, wanting to hold on and not let go. The streets were crowded in the evening. He didn’t know if anyone was looking into the car, but they didn’t seem to care about controlling themselves.
The flowers were thrown from his arms onto the passenger seat. Fang Ci’s lips were glistening, which naturally triggered more intense emotions. His position was a little higher than He Chi’s, allowing him to see every expression on his face.
He Chi’s fingers lingered on a button at his eye level. Fang Ci held his hands tightly, watching his eyes, and asked, “Teacher He, do you like me?”
He Chi kissed his eyes and asked, “Baby, what answer do you want to hear?”
Fang Ci said, “You have to say that you like me.”
He Chi smiled. “Okay.” The sky outside grew darker. The streetlights couldn’t reach this corner of the street. In the darkness, their sense of touch became sharper. Fang Ci was swept up in the storm, tossed around at sea, his whole body soaked by the waves. He Chi repeated the words he wanted to hear in his ear, over and over again.
The dream was incredibly real, even the sensations were recreated.
After a long time, Fang Ci’s consciousness finally left the pink dream. Between being half-awake and half-asleep, his body was affected by the beautiful scene, showing a dramatic change that was hard and painful.
It was the first time he had felt so uncomfortable. He felt too ashamed to face anyone.
Fang Ci woke up with a jolt and curled up under the blanket, burying his face in the pillow.
Ahhh, in the middle of the night, why did I have a dream like this?! This is killing me!
He was so embarrassed he couldn’t stand it. He slowly exhaled, hoping to ease the arousal. He couldn’t possibly last until morning like this.
It was no use at all. The He Chi in the dream was too tempting. He was so tempted that he was shaking all over: the flushed Adam’s apple, the veins showing on his forearm, and the direct and aggressive look in his eyes.
The real He Chi was charming, but not to this extent. He was too calm and never gave him a direct emotional response. The occasional teasing felt like it was behind a veil.
Fang Ci was filled with mixed feelings because of this dream. One moment he felt wronged, and the next, he lamented his miserable fate. After tossing and turning for a while, he quietly got up and decided to go to the bathroom to take care of things. He couldn’t stay in bed with He Chi, or he would go crazy.
Who craves their partner this much?! I even look down on myself, okay!
He Chi liked to hug him when he slept. Fang Ci tried to be as quiet as possible. This had to be done in secret. But the moment he lifted the blanket, He Chi’s fingers suddenly moved.
Fang Ci was afraid of waking him up and immediately went back to his original position.
After a few minutes, he tried again. This time, He Chi actually woke up. Fang Ci quickly and quietly explained, “I… need to go to the bathroom.”
He Chi grunted. He didn’t seem to be very awake. Fang Ci successfully sat up and escaped to the bathroom.
He stayed in there for a long time, finally relieving himself. He then went back to bed.
He was still uncomfortable, but much better than before. Unfortunately, this trip made him wide awake. He tossed and turned for a long time and couldn’t fall asleep.
When he turned over for the fifth time, He Chi held him down.
“Can’t sleep?”
Fang Ci had his back to him and said, “Sorry, did I wake you up?”
“I’ll go to the study and read for a while. I’ll go to sleep after that.” This wasn’t a good way to stay. He thought he might as well go read a German book. Foreign books were usually the most effective at making him sleepy.
He Chi’s voice still had a nasal sound, making it more magnetic than during the day. Fang Ci couldn’t stand it now and scrambled to get up.
He Chi stopped him and whispered, “Reading will affect your rest. Just lie down for a little while longer.”
The room was a little cold in the middle of the night, and he didn’t really want to leave the warm bed. Hearing this, he hesitated and shrank back.
They say reciting product specifications also cures insomnia. Especially when you come across a wrong number, your mind becomes highly focused, which is more effective than counting sheep. Fang Ci was at a complete loss and just gave up, lying flat.
He recited a few numbers intermittently in his head. Fang Ci frowned and accidentally said them out loud. He Chi sighed and asked, “What are you doing?”
Fang Ci deflated. “…I’m reciting specifications to see if I can fall asleep.”
He Chi was silent, probably hearing about this for the first time.
Fang Ci turned his face to him and said, “You have to work tomorrow. Go to sleep early. Don’t worry about me.”
He Chi’s hand was still on his arm. After hearing this, his thumb gently rubbed it. The movement was very small. “You also have to work tomorrow.”
He knew that. He wasn’t deliberately staying awake. Fang Ci said, “It’s okay to stay up late once in a while.”
Neither of them spoke. After a while, He Chi asked, “Does exercise help with sleep?”
Fang Ci didn’t understand. “What kind of exercise?”
He soon understood. There was only one kind of activity in bed.
Both of his hands were held above his head. His mind turned into a mush. He Chi was a man of action. He bent down and quickly went over all of his sensitive points. His efficiency was terrifyingly high.
He Chi wore him down until he was completely disoriented, taken apart and reassembled, until he was completely unconscious.
Before he passed out, he was still wondering how He Chi knew this trick would work…
The effect even continued into the next day. Fang Ci’s lower body was sore and swollen. That feeling of exhaustion had returned.
He hid under the blanket, his face so hot you could fry an egg on it.
After a long while, he finally got up with messy hair.
Fortunately, He Chi wasn’t in the bedroom at the moment.
Fang Ci hugged the blanket, leaning against the headboard, rubbing his face, and trying to dispel the heat.
He then picked up the clothes scattered by the bed. Just as he was about to put them on, he noticed that a button was missing from his pajamas. He stared at the loose thread for a while.
This button had also appeared in his dream.
The lights weren’t on yesterday. He didn’t know if He Chi’s expression was the same as in his dream. It shouldn’t be, right? In the dream, they loved each other, and he could feel He Chi’s affection.
But in reality… just thinking about it, he felt a hole in his chest, and cold air rushed in, making him shiver.
He suddenly felt unbearable. He couldn’t stand the politeness, the distance, and the unclear relationship between them. The He Chi in his dream gave him hope and greed.
Could he try to take a step forward?
Could the scenes from the dream become a reality?
This idea suddenly sprouted, like bamboo shoots after a rain, and he couldn’t press it down. It made him restless.
He slowly got dressed, and a plan gradually formed in his mind.
…
Seeking Advice
[You’re saying you’re going to pursue He Chi?] Shen Liu exclaimed.
Fang Ci was still sorting out his thoughts and just sent a “yes.”
Unexpectedly, Shen Liu said: [Why do you need to pursue him? Aren’t you guys already together?]
Fang Ci was stunned: [No. Where did you get that idea?]
Shen Liu: [I have eyes, thank you.]
Fang Ci: […]
Shen Liu then explained: [I’ve seen that He Chi is always very good to you.]
Fang Ci admitted: [I also think he’s a very nice person.]
Shen Liu: [What kind of evaluation is that?]
Fang Ci said: [I mean, He Chi has never explicitly said that he likes me.]
Shen Liu: [It doesn’t matter. Why don’t you just ask him? It’s that simple.]
Fang Ci didn’t think it was that simple, but he agreed with Shen Liu’s suggestion. Shen Liu, as his brother, gave him a lot of encouragement: [Hey, go for it. I’m 80% sure he likes you. You guys both want it, so the problem can be solved in minutes.]
[If you don’t succeed, I’ll sleep upside down from now on!]
Fang Ci laughed. How is he more confident than me?
[You really think He Chi likes me a little?]
Shen Liu said: [Yes! It’s my gut feeling.]
They say the onlooker sees more clearly. Fang Ci chose to believe his good brother: [Okay, wait for my good news about a successful confession!]
Shen Liu sent an “all-out” emoji, and Fang Ci confidently put away his phone.
At this moment, He Chi was driving. Fang Ci looked at him, secretly cheering himself on.
But when it came to pursuing someone and confessing, he was a complete amateur. This was his first time, and he felt more nervous than excited. When they arrived at the company, he started to slack off during his breaks and looked up various forums.
[Question: How to confess to someone to make it memorable?]
[1st floor: When I was pursuing a coworker, I asked him out for coffee. He was in a hurry to go to a meeting and didn’t sit for two minutes. I was also in a hurry and couldn’t hold back, so I confessed. Then I teased him and said I wouldn’t let him go if he didn’t agree, so he agreed.]
Fang Ci: Can this trick really work? Besides, I don’t want to delay He Chi’s work.
[3rd floor: I bought 999 roses and sent them to her building, with a banner. She called me an idiot but still said yes.]
[Hahahaha, the comment above is hilarious. Is this a cheesy confession from the last century?]
Fang Ci thought the same thing.
[10th floor: I’m a more direct person. I went up and pinned them against the wall. After I kissed them, they were mine! Hahaha!]
Fang Ci was dumbfounded but also fascinated: That’s too bold. What a brave person!
He flipped through a few more pages. The confession scenarios were all very similar, with no new tricks. Fang Ci couldn’t choose one.
He wanted to gather more useful information, so he changed the question. This time, he clicked on a new thread. The top answer seemed unique and very serious. It didn’t tell a story but a theory:
[Know yourself and your enemy, and you will win a hundred battles. You can first gather information from the outside world, ask about their personal preferences, and then confess. The success rate will be higher!]
Outside world?
The explanation below said: [For example, their friends.]
Fang Ci suddenly understood. This was a good idea. But He Chi’s friends… the only one he knew and was familiar with was Wei Lin.
A person who didn’t even come to the company…
How can I meet him? Fang Ci leaned back in his chair, feeling troubled.
