Chapter 16: Farewell, Grade Director! The Cover-Up Teacher Dies at Dawn (lol)
To get straight to the point, the former grade director, that old man, ended up leaving the school in the form of a voluntary resignation.
He reported it to the board of education! And then the lizard’s tail-cutting happened right after that, but behind the scenes, there were probably all sorts of pressures and dealings going on. Not long after the uproar, the former grade director vanished from the school… but who cares about that!
“I’m going with a criminal complaint.”
That was what Dad said as he flew into a rage. Even if he couldn’t go the criminal route, it looked like he was going to pursue it civilly.
Right after that, as soon as he listened to the data that Tate had sent over, veins bulged out across his face like some grappler from a manga. The reason he stopped me from exposing it to the influencer was because Dad had gotten fired up about handling the reckoning himself, so I decided to leave it to him. After all, what that former grade director had been doing was totally out of line in all sorts of ways. I just hoped he’d come to his senses.
“What do you mean, the perpetrator’s future? I won’t hold back against a trash teacher who tramples on the victim’s human rights. Even if he holes up in the bathroom, I’ll chase him down and make him atone for it!!”
Ever since Himeko’s incident, Dad’s stock has kept rising among my friends, but with this matter, it seems fine to just leave the rest to him. The former grade director might think he’s gotten away with it by resigning, but our dad isn’t that lenient. Rest in peace, former grade director. Adios.
And thanks to this uproar, the movement among the teachers in the school who had been supporting Himeko came to a complete halt, which was a big change.
By the way, the teachers were divided into three groups: the cover-up and defense faction, the faction that wanted to punish things calmly and steadily, and the wait-and-see neutral faction. But since the grade director got knocked out right from the start, the cover-up faction got cold feet and scattered like mist. If they think it’s dangerous, they cut ties and prioritize self-preservation—that’s just too crappy, so I really want to smoke out this cover-up faction someday and purge them all.
By the way, Shuko-chan was in the punishment faction, and she argued that no matter how excellent the grades were or whatever, they should punish based on the school rules and the penal code. So it seems like the former grade director had called me out on that day when Shuko-chan was away on business to try to trap me… but in the end, it turned out unfortunate for him.
I heard about all those movements from Tateyoko, who had somehow gotten the info from who knows where, but as a result, Himeko had completely lost her standing and support from the school side.
Because if they tried to defend Himeko, they’d end up clashing with me, and if they clashed with me, they’d be up against the Takao family, who wouldn’t back down, wouldn’t fawn, and wouldn’t reflect… no, there’s no fault on our side, so there’s no reason to go out of our way to be considerate. Yeah. I’m not a monster parent; I’m just mad because it doesn’t add up.
All this was happening without Himeko herself knowing anything about it, but since she hasn’t been coming to school, she wouldn’t have a way to know. Can’t be helped. Lately, she’s been kinda sloppy, huh?
And the one who was surprised by the situation was Shuko-chan, who had just gotten back from her business trip.
“I’m sorry. You got caught up in trouble, and I couldn’t be there at the time.”
Shuko-chan looked really apologetic, but since they took advantage of the gap while she was on the trip, I don’t think she could help it. I’ll tell Shuko-chan not to worry about it.
“…Is there anything I can do?”
…That’s what Shuko-chan asked me, but saying there’s nothing in particular right now would probably just make her worry more. Alright, let’s go with this.
“Then, if I turn into a bad kid, will you scold me, teacher?”
“…Yeah. If you do something bad, I’ll get angry. I’ll get properly angry as a teacher.
That said, that line sounds like a flag for a villain turn, so you should stop saying stuff like that. Especially since it’d probably turn into a three-part theater version.”
Tch, too bad. But I don’t hate how straightforward Shuko-chan is like that.
Come to think of it, the changes were that while I was dealing with that former grade director and all that, I finally got released from the cast on my broken bone, and Asakura got a complete makeover. She finally gave in to Kusaka-san’s persistent persuasion and got her hair cut, turning her shortened black hair into a short bob, and her black-rimmed glasses became stylish rimless ones.
She only did lipstick or something like that, she said, but the atmosphere changed, and the guys were reacting a ton. As expected, a lot of them can’t resist the temptation of those b00bs.
“Hey, Asakura. You’ve gotten really cute lately.”
“Hah?”
“Hey, wanna go out this weekend? I have an extra movie ticket.”
“But I refuse.”
“Ehh? Come on, it’ll be fun for sure~ Just try it out, seriously just one day~ I’m really good at making girls have fun~”
“You’re pissing me off…!”
“Eek?!”
―――And then he got shot down by Asakura.
The one who asked Asakura out on a date during lunch break in the classroom was probably that handsome flashy senior who’s famous at school. She didn’t give him an inch, which was hilarious.
…I do think she’s visibly gotten cuter, but since her insides haven’t changed, Asakura is still Asakura, right? People’s true nature doesn’t change just because their looks do, so I’ll keep treating Asakura the same as always.
“Ahh~ So annoying! Such a pain! Lately, guys keep coming up to me, and it’s wasting my time and pissing me off.”
“Hahaha, that’s because you’ve gotten cute, Asakura. Whoa, what a long, long journey it was. I always thought polishing you would make you shine, so I’m overflowing with emotion~”
The one nodding along like that was Kusaka-san. Now that I think about it, aside from Asakura, it seems like guys stopped approaching Kusaka-san lately.
“That’s because everyone thinks you’re dating Tak-kun.”
Smack, Asakura set up the soy milk in her usual voluptuous position and drank it. Asakura’s gotten better at reading my mind little by little.
“…Ah, that’s a good idea. If I spread around that I’m doing it with Tak-kun too, guys won’t come near me.”
…Wait a sec, Asakura! Won’t that lead to the misunderstanding that I’m a two-timing scumbag with girls?! Stop, stay, stay!
