My Cold Senior Sister Keeps Flirting with Me - Chapter 19
As they continued their journey, they encountered several more demon beasts. The group fought their way through, hurrying onward. Just as dusk began to settle, they finally discovered a wide mountain valley.
The area was rich in Spiritual Energy and close to a water source, making it an ideal place to rest.
An Ran retrieved a tent from her Storage Ring, along with a complete set of bedding and pillows.
Lu Yunyan watched her set up the tent and make the bed with practiced ease, and couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise, “Junior Sister An, you actually brought a tent? We cultivators can just meditate anywhere and make it through the night, right?”
An Ran rolled her eyes at Lu Yunyan. “Sleeping in a proper bed every night is my obsession! If you’re so capable, don’t even think about sneaking in tonight!”
Lu Yunyan: “……”
An Ran eagerly approached Gu Ruohan, fawning over her. “Eldest Senior Sister, I’ve already made the bed. Come into the tent quickly—we’ll sleep together tonight!”
Under An Ran’s intense gaze, Gu Ruohan nodded, calmly removed her shoes, and entered the tent.
Lu Yunyan was about to follow when An Ran blocked the entrance, saying, “My bed doesn’t want you. Don’t dirty the tent. Didn’t you look down on my tent anyway?”
Lu Yunyan immediately fawned, “Aiyo, my dear Junior Sister, I was wrong! Let me in, please! It’s so much more comfortable inside! I want to sleep with Eldest Senior Sister too!”
An Ran turned to Gu Ruohan, who was sitting inside the tent. “Eldest Senior Sister, what do you say? Should we let her in?”
Gu Ruohan nodded slightly. “Then come in.”
With Gu Ruohan’s permission, Lu Yunyan leaped three feet into the air, hastily removed her shoes, and scrambled into the tent, exclaiming, “Thank you, Eldest Senior Sister! Thank you, Junior Sister An!”
The two senior brothers sat in meditation nearby, keeping watch through the night. Gu Ruohan, Lu Yunyan, and An Ran slept inside the tent.
Gu Ruohan lay on the left, An Ran in the middle, and Lu Yunyan on the right.
The tent was pitch-black, with only faint moonlight filtering through the seams.
The tranquil atmosphere of the night quietly spread, and An Ran, without warning, gently nudged closer to Gu Ruohan.
Gu Ruohan subtly adjusted her position, trying to make more room for An Ran.
Asleep, An Ran’s eyes were tightly closed as she lay on her side, facing Gu Ruohan. Her cheek pressed against the pillow, her lips slightly pursed in a pout that seemed almost aggrieved. Her long, slightly upturned eyelashes stood out clearly in the moonlight.
Her breathing was even and soft, like a murmured whisper, the faint sound carrying an inexplicable sweetness.
Suddenly, An Ran frowned and rubbed against Gu Ruohan, pressing her cheek tightly against Gu Ruohan’s neck and nuzzling repeatedly. She mumbled indistinctly, “Sister…”
Gu Ruohan’s body tensed. She watched An Ran’s slightly trembling eyelashes, fluttering like tiny fans that seemed to gather invisible light.
Unable to resist, she reached out and gently stroked those slightly damp lashes, her touch as light as if she were caressing a feather.
Suddenly, An Ran tilted her head slightly, leaning closer to Gu Ruohan. Her lips brushed against Gu Ruohan’s chin, and the warm breath from her nostrils tickled Gu Ruohan’s lips. An Ran murmured softly, “…Sister…”
Unconsciously, her lips parted and gently rubbed against Gu Ruohan’s chin, soft and yielding.
Gu Ruohan’s entire body stiffened, her fingers involuntarily tightening their grip on the bedsheets. An Ran’s eyelashes fluttered faintly, as if searching for something in her dream.
Moonlight streamed through the tent’s seams, illuminating An Ran’s face and making her features appear even more delicate and endearing.
Gu Ruohan gazed at An Ran, a feeling she had never experienced before surging through her heart, as if enveloped by a warm current.
In the days that followed, they continued their journey, chatting, battling demon beasts, and advancing steadily. Before they knew it, they had covered sixty to seventy miles without encountering any major dangers.
The only close call occurred when they nearly fell prey to a Nascent Soul-level demon beast. Fortunately, they sensed the danger in time and unleashed a combined burst of power, barely managing to repel the creature.
After several days of practice, Yu An Ran had found her niche: team commander.
Leading a team was a complex art. It required not only a thorough understanding of demon beasts’ weaknesses and attack patterns but also the ability to strategically allocate combat resources based on the specific situation to maximize the team’s effectiveness.
This knowledge stemmed from Yu An Ran’s experience playing modern video games. Through practical application over the past few days, she had grown increasingly adept at utilizing these skills.
In essence, demon beasts were like bosses in a game, each with its own vulnerabilities and predictable attack patterns. Careful observation could reveal their weaknesses.
Take the Tusked Pig, for example. It was most vulnerable to ranged attacks. While melee combatants might find themselves entangled and unable to escape, switching to a bow and arrow would render the Tusked Pig as docile as a lapdog.
Similarly, with the Iceflame Beast they were currently fighting, Yu An Ran observed the timing of its elemental shifts to coordinate their attacks.
When the Iceflame Beast was in its fire form, Lu Yunyan would bombard it with water orbs, while Gu Ruohan would strike with the Ruo Xue Sword.
After a while, when the Iceflame Beast switched from fire to ice attribute, it would first raise its front paws, then gather energy, and finally spin in place countless times before unleashing its ultimate move: Infinite Firepower Unleashed.
After calculating the Iceflame Beast’s attack range, An Ran immediately warned everyone to retreat to a safe zone. Once the beast finished its ultimate move and transformed into its ice attribute form, Third Senior Brother slashed at it with the Phoenix Cry Sword, Lu Yunyan bombarded it with Flame Burst Pills, and the rest of the group unleashed a barrage of ordinary attacks.
Because the Iceflame Beast’s hide was incredibly thick, ordinary Spiritual Power attacks struggled to pierce it. Targeting its neck proved to be a more effective strategy.
As expected, I’m a natural leader, An Ran thought smugly. But her moment of pride was cut short when she failed to notice the Iceflame Beast suddenly turning. Before she could react, the beast’s tail was about to sweep her away.
“Watch out!” Gu Ruohan shouted, flashing in front of An Ran and scooping her into his arms. With a swift leap, he narrowly avoided the Iceflame Beast’s sweeping tail.
It was fortunate Gu Ruohan reacted in time. Otherwise, An Ran’s frail frame would never have survived the Iceflame Beast’s full-force strike.
If it had been anyone else, a single sweep of the Iceflame Beast’s tail would have been fatal!
It must be said, Gu Ruohan was remarkably reliable in the Trial Grounds. She always appeared at the critical moment when An Ran was in danger, shielding her behind her back.
An Ran gave Gu Ruohan a bright, sweet smile. “Thank you, Eldest Senior Sister!”
Gu Ruohan nodded slightly in acknowledgment before they both rejoined the battle.
After two hours of relentless encirclement, the Iceflame Beast finally succumbed to their combined assault and collapsed.
Every part of the Iceflame Beast was valuable, and the two senior brothers weren’t about to miss out. They immediately rushed forward to loot the corpse.
The remaining three girls—An Ran, Gu Ruohan, and Lu Yunyan—gathered to wash their hands.
As Lu Yunyan scrubbed her hands, she remarked, “Junior Sister, I’ve noticed you really love washing your hands.”
An Ran rolled her eyes. “I’ve seen you washing them just as often! You always sneak over when I’m boiling water! Besides, isn’t it good for girls to be clean?”
Lu Yunyan leaned in close to An Ran, sniffing her. “Let me see if clean girls smell nice.”
An Ran jumped back, pushing Lu Yunyan away. “Get off! You stink! All sweaty and sour.”
Lu Yunyan sniffed her own sleeve and declared, “It doesn’t smell! I use the Cleansing Spell every day—there’s no odor at all! Come on, Junior Sister, let Senior Sister take a whiff.”
“No, don’t come any closer!” An Ran recoiled. “That medicinal scent on you always reminds me of the awful medicine I had to drink when I woke up from my injuries.” The mere thought of that foul-tasting concoction made her want to vomit.
Lu Yunyan slapped An Ran’s shoulder. “Tch, you’re being picky! You were practically clinging to me all night!”
An Ran bristled, hands on her hips. “Liar! I have perfect sleeping habits! There’s no way I was clinging to you!”
Gu Ruohan pressed a hand to her forehead, thinking, Your sleeping habits are indeed perfect—you didn’t cling to her, but you kept snuggling into my arms…
Speechless, Gu Ruohan merely glanced at them before silently turning away.
Every time she recalled that night, Gu Ruohan’s ears would uncontrollably flush crimson.
