- Episode 95 - Parade of Rainbows and Petals
For some reason, I suddenly wake up earlier than usual.
When I got out of bed and opened the curtains, it was just the right time for the sun to rise, and the view of the count’s territory bathed in the morning glow was so beautiful that words couldn’t describe it.
Today is finally the day of the wedding anniversary parade.
With the cooperation of Princess Carmilla, the spirits’ outfits were successfully completed yesterday. This time, due to the lack of time, the base pattern was the same, but I added a bit of individuality with different colors and a single accent.
Phos has a pale mint-colored shirt with a lively-looking cravat.
Kuntz is wearing a light pink shirt with a slightly cute ribbon tie.
Kaia wore a bright blue shirt with a somewhat intelligent-looking bolo tie.
Since all three of them were very happy, I am happy too.
“Ana, are you already awake?”
I heard my husband’s voice from the adjoining room beyond the door.
We conveyed our feelings to each other, but, well, our bedrooms are still separate.
There are multiple reasons, like not being able to find the right moment or both being too reserved, but I think… we both believe that today’s parade will be a turning point.
“Yes, good morning, sir. You’re early as well, sir.”
“Oh, I somehow woke up. How about having some tea together here?”
Invited by my husband, I eagerly step into the next room.
Waking up early together, we both laughed a bit, thinking we were like kids on a field trip day.
Once breakfast is finished, we will immediately start preparing for the parade.
This process of taking a bath, getting a massage, and polishing my entire body is still something I’m not used to, but if I think of it as preparing to wear that dress in its best form, it doesn’t feel burdensome at all.
The dress in the color of my husband, created by the united efforts of the villagers, the only one of its kind in the world. I can’t help but feel overjoyed thinking that everyone in the village will finally get to see it.
It seems that the subjects are also looking forward to it very much, and the town has been buzzing with excitement since morning.
Yesterday, I consulted Marie on how to ensure the changes in the villagers’ consciousness don’t end up being temporary, and she laughed and said, “I don’t think it’s temporary anymore.”
Of course, the fact that my husband appeared in the town was one of the triggers, but it seems that the cooperation of various people through the making of dresses afterwards became a major factor in bringing vitality to the town.
“Everyone has started to remember the joy and sense of accomplishment that comes from working. Just like me!”
Watching Marie laugh as she said that, I felt a bright future for the territory as well.
Alright! Then next, shall I think about tax reform or something?
It doesn’t seem like something a bride about to have a wedding parade would think about, but it’s fine because it’s me.
“Are you ready, Ana?”
“Yes, my lord.”
The servants swung the doors wide open, and as we stepped outside, the area was enveloped in thunderous applause.
The two wave to the crowd with smiles and get on the parade carriage escorted by the husband.
“Your Grace—!!”
“Lady Anastasia!!”
Among the audience, there are some familiar faces, and it’s quite embarrassing.
To the familiar stall owner, Mr. Tom from the cake shop. The children and young moms we played with together, and oh! Over there is Ms. Ana too!!
While trying to see as many faces of the villagers as possible, I waved my hand with all my might.
There were some people crying for some reason and some elderly people praying, which was a bit amusing, but what made me happiest was that everyone was enjoying themselves.
On the way, as we passed in front of the State Guest House, my brother-in-law and Princess Carmilla were waving from the second-floor viewing seats.
I also wave back enthusiastically.
When the carriage arrived at the square, the turnaround point of the parade, a rainbow appeared in the sky as if it had been timed perfectly.
Due to the perfect timing, the villagers were all excitedly saying, “It’s a miracle!” “It’s a blessing from the gods!” “As expected of the Golden Goddess!!” But actually, I think this was the work of the Black-Haired Goddess and her contracted spirit, not the Golden Goddess.
Hmm, Princess Carmilla, you really do have a knack for doing stylish things.
As I admired the rainbow, a whole bunch of spirits, led by our trio of spirits, gathered around.
“Ana, Eugene, congratulations!”
The spirits, who were joyfully frolicking, all spread their arms wide as if they had coordinated, and a large number of petals suddenly swirled up all around them.
“Wow, amazing! What’s going on here!?”
“It’s a flower shower!”
“Eh, where did that come from!? It’s like magic!”
Voices of surprise and joy are overflowing from the subjects.
“Haha, this is amazing!”
“Uh, um, doesn’t this seem a bit too flashy…?”
Seeing the happy villagers and the playful spirits was more delightful than anything else, and my husband and I exchanged glances and laughed along with everyone.
Having left the lively square behind, the carriage carrying my husband and me takes a different route and heads back to the mansion.
The parade on this day was called the “Rainbow and Petal Parade,” and it became such a famous event that it later turned into a beloved children’s picture book.
