My Female Python Roommate Always Wants To Eat Me. - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
The bloody scene of the brown rabbit’s neck being bitten off by the python in the video was still replaying in Bai Fuxue’s mind.
It left a lasting sense of shock.
She trembled uncontrollably in Lu Qimin’s arms, her back pressed against her soft chest.
The woman’s body was very soft and emitted the scent of shower gel, which wafted to her nose and smelled wonderful.
Her neck was being gently patted, with a soothing intention that should have made her feel a sense of safety and warmth.
But an even more indescribable feeling of terror rose in her heart. Ideas without any theoretical basis kept popping up.
For example, Lu Qimin’s body temperature was too cool to be that of a normal person. It was more like the temperature of a snake…
The more she thought about it, the more scared she became. The trembling didn’t subside at all with Lu Qimin’s comfort. Instead, it got worse.
Bai Fuxue couldn’t stay any longer.
She scrambled out of Lu Qimin’s arms and stuttered an explanation: “I, I’m going back to sleep now.”
Without waiting for Lu Qimin to react, she quickly lifted the bed curtain, agilely got into her own bed, and tightly pulled the blanket around herself, clenching every corner so that no air could get in.
She hid herself with a great sense of security, imagining herself in a deep, hidden nest in the woods.
No one but herself could find the way in.
She lay there for a long time, holding the blanket until it was filled with her own humid, hot air and no other foreign scents.
She finally relaxed completely, taking big gulps of air. Her body had returned to normal.
She patted her chest with lingering fear, making a silent decision.
Lu Qimin always carried an aura that made her feel dangerous. Although she knew that Lu Qimin was a kind-hearted person who always helped her with many things in life.
But… maybe she should keep some distance from her in the future. She shouldn’t get so close anymore.
Bai Fuxue decided to follow her intuition and stay away from people and things that made her feel uneasy to get a sense of absolute security.
Her mind was a jumble of thoughts. Without realizing it, she fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning.
The dorm was filled with the clatter of footsteps. An Xin and Song Jiajia had, for the first time, finished washing up the earliest.
When they came out in their camouflage uniforms, the two people on the opposite beds were still motionless, sleeping soundly.
The two of them looked at each other, finding it hard to believe.
They had all witnessed Lu Qimin’s habit of sleeping in, but Bai Fuxue was different.
She was very disciplined. Once she made a plan, she would follow it strictly.
She was always the first person to wake up, and after she finished washing up, she would go to Lu Qimin’s bed and wake her up.
And that was the same time An Xin and Song Jiajia would wake up.
It had been like this every day for more than a week, without exception.
But today, Bai Fuxue had slept in?!
“Did she forget to set her alarm?” An Xin guessed.
Song Jiajia: “I don’t think so. Xiao Bai has her own body clock. Even if the alarm doesn’t go off, she’ll still wake up on time.”
They briefly analyzed the situation but couldn’t come up with a logical conclusion.
Time was ticking away. If one person was late, the whole class would be punished. Instructor Xu was never soft-hearted, so the students in their class were very punctual.
Without any time to spare, they quickly discussed who to wake up first to ask what was going on.
Fortunately, before they came to a conclusion, Lu Qimin woke up first.
She woke up naturally and didn’t have a bad temper.
Song Jiajia immediately looked at her as if she were a savior: “Xiao Bai hasn’t moved at all. Go check on her and see what’s wrong.”
Lu Qimin’s expression turned serious upon hearing that. Worry rose in her heart. She thought of the little rabbit who was still in her heat cycle and might be suffering from the hormones…
She quickly leaned over, avoiding An Xin and Song Jiajia’s view. She pulled back Bai Fuxue’s bed curtain and called her name anxiously.
“A-Xue, A-Xue? Are you okay?”
There was no response.
The bed was completely silent.
If not for the obvious figure hunched up under the blanket, Lu Qimin would have truly believed that no one was there.
Left with no other choice, Lu Qimin climbed over the railing and got onto Bai Fuxue’s bed.
She forcefully pulled off the blanket covering Bai Fuxue’s head. A face covered in a deep crimson flush was immediately revealed. Her moist, slightly parted red lips softly breathed out hot air toward her. The little rabbit’s eyes were out of focus. They stared at her with a dazed, wet look for a long time. There was nothing but confusion in them.
She seemed to be genuinely confused about why there was suddenly an extra person beside her.
Lu Qimin reached out and touched her forehead, but she was immediately forced back by the heat emanating from it.
So hot!
She tried to pull her hand back to feel the temperature difference with her own skin.
She was stopped by Bai Fuxue halfway.
Bai Fuxue wrapped both of her hands around her arm and pulled her cool palm to her forehead.
She even wriggled her waist slightly, wanting more of that comforting coolness.
A moment later, Bai Fuxue awoke from her dazed state. After seeing the situation in front of her, she was so shocked that she immediately pulled her hand away from Lu Qimin and shrank toward the corner of the wall, filled with fear.
The person she had decided to stay away from last night. She had just opened her eyes, and she was already voluntarily holding her hand and putting it on her own forehead. What was she doing?
Her mind was racing. She wrinkled her pretty nose and preemptively said, “Lu Qimin, why are you on my bed?”
“You didn’t wake me up today, so I came over to check on you,” Lu Qimin explained calmly. She then added, “Your face is very red, and your forehead is very hot.”
“Oh,” Bai Fuxue curled her toes and responded awkwardly.
The familiar physical sensations from last night were slowly surging toward her again, like waves rolling in from the sea, pulling her into a web of passion from which she could not escape.
She tensed her legs under the blanket, desperately resisting the hormonal fluctuations. The tips of her ears were a hard-to-hide crimson.
She tried to focus her mind and remember what Lu Qimin had said. An idea flashed in her mind, and she came up with a plan to deal with it.
She quickly opened her mouth, wanting to send Lu Qimin away.
“I’m sick. I don’t feel well. Can you get me a leave of absence from Instructor Xu?”
“You have a fever,” Lu Qimin’s voice was very serious.
“If you’re sick, you should go see a doctor.”
“There’s no need… I’ll be fine after I get some sleep in the dorm,” Bai Fuxue weakly shrank toward the corner, retreating in a panic and expressing her resistance.
She knew her situation was not something that could be solved by seeing a doctor.
But Lu Qimin had a look of great disapproval. The message in her words was that Bai Fuxue was too careless and that no one else was as disregardful of their body as she was.
“Hurry up and change your clothes. I’ll go to the school infirmary with you.”
A kind-hearted roommate would not let her stay alone in the dorm with a high fever.
Bai Fuxue: “…”
She couldn’t refuse. Lu Qimin was too persistent.
She had no other choice. If she told one lie, she would have to use countless more to cover it up.
She was forced to get up by Lu Qimin. She was once again walking with the person she had made up her mind to stay away from. It was simply… a fated connection.
Bai Fuxue sighed, her heart filled with sorrow.
