My Female Python Roommate Always Wants To Eat Me. - Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Bai Fuxue touched her hair, which was slightly damp from being cooped up in the blanket for a long time. Her fingertips then moved to the side again, touching her equally damp and hot ear tips.
A faint layer of fluff emerged, lightly brushing against her fingertips, half-hidden by her long hair.
Bai Fuxue’s brow furrowed slightly. How could she go out and be seen like this?
She felt that in the next second, she would be sent to a lab to sacrifice herself for science.
Mulling it over, she took a thin, loose hoodie from her wardrobe, put it on, and carefully pulled her hair into a fluffy shape, tucking it into the hood.
After tidying up her clothes, she pulled back the bed curtain, looking neat and ready, and told Lu Qimin they could go.
Lu Qimin, however, didn’t move. Instead, she stared at her with a look as if she had seen a ghost.
She raised an eyebrow and asked, “Aren’t you hot dressed like that?”
Bai Fuxue felt a strange sense of mockery.
Indeed, wearing a jacket in nearly 40-degree weather was quite foolish.
But for her, being in her special period and walking through a crowd in a simple camouflage uniform was not an option.
Any unusual change in her body would be clearly exposed to everyone. That was an absolute impossibility.
She would rather be misunderstood as being foolish.
She pinched the hem of her clothes, her soft, white fingertips sinking into the folds of the light-gray fabric, becoming less visible. She lowered her rounded eyes and mumbled, “I’m cold.”
As she spoke, she gained more confidence, as if she had completely convinced herself of her own words.
She curled her body further into the hoodie to show her determination to be cold.
Lu Qimin watched her desperate attempt to make her lie believable. A fluffy tail seemed to wag in her heart, sending out warm ripples.
The little rabbit’s clumsy acting was so cute.
She wanted to kiss her to death.
She wanted to see more of the little rabbit’s flustered look. She was secretly head over heels for Bai Fuxue, but she didn’t show it. She consistently maintained the persona of a warm and helpful roommate.
She pulled out her phone’s weather forecast for the day and held it up to Bai Fuxue, kindly advising her, “You should change your clothes. You’ll get overheated.”
Bai Fuxue couldn’t avoid it and had no choice but to lift her eyelashes to look.
In the section for body temperature, a glaring temperature symbol with the number 39°C next to it was blinding. It was so hot it could melt a person.
She didn’t need Lu Qimin to say more to understand the meaning behind this data. She knew how inappropriate it was to wear this jacket in the current temperature.
She tugged on the drawstring under the hood, grabbing and releasing it, feeling conflicted.
If she insisted on wearing it, it would definitely arouse Lu Qimin’s suspicion.
Her mind quickly flashed through all the items she had brought to school. It finally stopped at the rabbit ear hat that Lu Qimin had bought for her on the day she registered.
It was now tucked deep inside her closet. After putting it away, she hadn’t paid any attention to it.
She thought she would never have to wear it again.
But now, it had become the perfect item to conceal her features.
The long ears, as soft as feathers, hung from the top of the hat. There was a mechanism inside that allowed her to control the ears. They could sway from side to side and move at will.
They would move entirely based on the will of the person controlling them.
She also remembered the intense and passionate look in Lu Qimin’s eyes when she bought the hat, which had made her feel weak in her arms and legs.
After hesitating for a moment, Bai Fuxue turned around, took off her jacket, and retrieved the neatly folded rabbit ear hat from the closet. She put it on with a heavy heart.
She held the brim of the hat, still stubborn: “I’m really cold.”
She would not take off any more clothes. She would wear the hat to the infirmary.
Lu Qimin no longer objected.
The moment Bai Fuxue appeared in her sight with the rabbit ear hat, Lu Qimin couldn’t take her eyes off her.
A successful and satisfied smile appeared on her lips. She immediately reached out and grabbed the rabbit ears on the hat, kneading them and making them into all sorts of shapes.
As she kneaded, she sighed, “I wish A-Xue were really a rabbit.”
Bai Fuxue’s body trembled. She silently snatched the rabbit ears on the hat from Lu Qimin’s hand.
She didn’t understand how Lu Qimin could always say things that would scare her into a dried rabbit with the calmest tone.
The fluffy feeling in her palm was gone, but Lu Qimin still looked at her unsatisfyingly.
Bai Fuxue said each word clearly, her stance firm in her refusal, and her tone filled with shame and anger: “Don’t play with my ears.”
Lu Qimin stood there, her gaze piercing through the little rabbit’s long, black hair, falling on her delicate, small ears. They were clearly human ears, but they were trembling at an extremely subtle frequency.
The longer she stared, the faster the trembling became.
She watched with interest for a while before letting go of the cute and delicious little rabbit in front of her. She feigned a look of disappointment: “So stingy?”
“Mhm, very stingy.”
Bai Fuxue affirmed repeatedly, protecting the hat ears, not wanting her to touch them.
“Fine,” seeing her defensive posture, Lu Qimin let out an unintelligible scoff. She walked behind her with her hands in her pockets, naturally exuding a wild aura with every step, like a beast lying in wait in the wilderness, waiting for the best moment.
Her voice was casual, “Stingy. Let’s go see the doctor.”
The two of them walked across a large part of the campus to the school infirmary. Lu Qimin walked ahead and knocked on the door, leading her inside.
There was only one female doctor in the infirmary, busy tidying up the medicines on the shelves and checking their expiration dates one by one.
Hearing the commotion, she looked up and asked them what was wrong.
Lu Qimin helped Bai Fuxue sit on a chair, “My friend doesn’t feel well. She has a high fever. Doctor, can you please check her?”
Upon hearing the words “high fever,” the doctor’s expression immediately became serious.
She took out a thermometer and gave it to Bai Fuxue, “Let’s take your temperature first.”
Bai Fuxue quietly held the thermometer under her arm. Lu Qimin timed it for her.
The moment the time was up, she reminded the doctor to check the results.
The mercury line was at a shocking level. The doctor’s face was serious, “You have a high fever, student. Your temperature is almost 39.3°C!”
She immediately began to ask Bai Fuxue when her fever started and what she had done before the fever. She then registered her name, department, and class on the medical record form…
In her current situation, Bai Fuxue could only pick and choose what she could say.
After listening, the doctor diagnosed her illness and planned to prescribe her medicine. She placed her on an empty hospital bed nearby, “I’ll prescribe five days’ worth of cold and anti-inflammatory medicine. When you go back, take them according to the instructions on the label. You also have a high fever, so we need to take this seriously. We’ll give you an IV drip today. After you go back and take your medicine, we’ll observe the situation. If the fever doesn’t go down, you’ll need to come back for another IV drip.”
Bai Fuxue felt nothing when she heard about the cold medicine, but when she heard about getting an IV drip, she immediately became flustered.
She could choose not to take the medicine when she got back, but she couldn’t fake getting an injection. Lu Qimin would also be watching her the entire time.
What if something went wrong and she couldn’t react in time?
She wasn’t human. What would happen if she was recklessly given human antibiotics?
Seeing that the doctor was about to prepare the medicine in the syringe, Bai Fuxue nervously stopped her. She shrank into a ball, nervously clutching Lu Qimin’s wrist and hiding behind her. She whimpered with a knot in her throat: “I, I’m not getting a shot.”
The doctor was stunned. She hadn’t expected her to have such a strong reaction. She then turned her gaze to Lu Qimin, who had come with her, and gestured for her to try to convince her.
Lu Qimin took Bai Fuxue’s hand, her fingertips gently brushing her palm as she comforted her softly: “What’s wrong? Are you afraid of needles?”
“The doctor said a shot will help you get better faster so you won’t have to feel so bad.”
Bai Fuxue still shook her head, hiding tightly behind her and refusing to budge.
“I’ll just take the medicine. I don’t want a shot.”
Lu Qimin couldn’t convince her. Her original intention was just her mischievous personality. She wanted to see the little rabbit’s cute, flustered reaction. She knew that the high temperature was a normal symptom of a heat cycle.
She scraped the little rabbit’s nose as if she were helpless, mocking her, “You little wimp.”
She then told the doctor that she couldn’t do anything, “My friend doesn’t want to get a shot. Doctor, can you just prescribe her some medicine?”
The doctor couldn’t force her and agreed.
She told her to make sure she seriously supervised Bai Fuxue to take her medicine on time.
